Thanks for the encouragement!  I have had A LOT of time to think about this and I'm sure these are only a few of the reasons.  I'm still learning about myself, my issues.  I'm really glad to have a support network like you all that understand what I'm going through!

Were you locked in a TGIFridays and know one would let you out? :)  Let it go, it happens, but be careful.  One meal is natural, one whole day is a mistake that can be easily repaired, 3 or more days is a slippery slope to staying fat.

Welcome!  I started this site about a month ago and it has really helped me.  I love it!  The support is awesome and the food logs and tools are amazing.  There is a message board on here called "find your cc twin".  You enter in your ht., wt., age, and goal weight and believe it or not, you are really close to me!  I am 5'8" (not sure what your ht is), 249 lbs, 36 yrs. old, and my goal weight is 148.  I was 265 when I started this site in December, so I'm doing pretty well - I know you will , too!  I have 101 lbs to go!  Oh, and I also have 2 teenager(ish) kids, 1 boy, 1 girl.  Cory is 20 and Ariel is 16.  I'd be happy to share any tips that I can and I know you will find a ton of great info as you go through the site.

I'm so proud of you!  I can't wait to follow your progress!

Doing pretty well so far!!!  Each month on the 15th I have what I call a "weight date"  which is where I weigh myself, take all my measurements, and my daughter takes pics of me in my bathing suit (yikes) front, side, and back.  This month, from 12/15 to 1/15, I lost 13 lbs and a total of 9 inches!  The best part is that it doesn't feel like I'm on a diet.  I really like the foods I'm eating, I feel satisfied, I'm loving my workouts.  I feel good!

thanks, nic - shift enter works.  And bff, don't even worry about the gym!  Put yourself in the mindset that it is embarrassing to NOT go to the gym.  And you know that even the skinniest chick is freaked out about her"flabby" thighs.  As much as I love my gym I know that most are filled with really insecure people regardless of how they look on the outside.you guys, I am soooo tired.  My job is really physical and I'm going to the gym or my martial arts class (sometimes both) everyday.  I'm so tired of being tired!  I run around everywhere like I'm not carrying around an extra 100 lbs., it wears me out!  I'm not complaining - I know that the typical cycle is you add in activity, get too tired, stop the activity, but the weight is making me tired, not the activity.  I know that I will never have the energy I need until the weight is off.  So, in the meantime I'm a bit of a zombie :).

Nicole - you are doing a great job as our unofficial Team 2 leader!!!  I wanted to thank you and blayne for keeping us up on all the stats.  It's really helpful and motivating!

I also wanted to say to our team that regardless of if you've had weight gains or losses, congrats for taking on a commitment like this during this time of year!  I know there are always temptations, but the holidays are the worst!  I don't remember the last time I saw a vegetable at a party!  So now that the holidays are over, let's get our butts in the gym with every other New Yr's Resolution attempter - but we will still be there as they are dropping off!  It's time to recommit!  For me, this is my year, it's like the stars have all finally aligned and I can do this!

As for team name - I really like Diet Riot, blayne.  I also thought "The See-Ya-Lighter-Laters".  I used to have a Weight Watcher lady say that at the end of our meeting - "See ya lighter later!"  Thought it was funny.

Hey, Everyone!

I did pretty well over the holidays.  I kept my treats limited to Christmas Eve dinner - a big gathering at my sister's, and Christmas Day - a bigger gathering at my aunt's.  I bought all of the stuff for our stockings before we went on a new eating plan so there was a bunch of candy in my husband's and my stockings so we each went through and picked out what we wanted (I picked 2 peanut butter truffles) and we gave all the rest to my brother's kids.  They loved it, of course!  I didn't have any sweets at xmas eve dinner and kept my dinner portion pretty small.  I was saving myself for xmas dinner and it was worth it!  But still, even though there were desserts galore I chose one and had a very small portion and really enjoyed it.  Overall I was able to put in a 2 lb weight loss for the challenge and I was right back on track 12/26, like nothing ever happened.

This is so fantastic!  I hope that you are as proud of yourself as you should be.  Your son will get so much more out of you now.  You'll be able to run around with him, kick a ball around, and all the other things kids keep busy doing!  What a gift you have given yourself and your family this Christmas. 

I also have 100 lbs to lose and it is so inspiring to know that this can happen to me too!  By next Christmas, I can be completely transformed!  You might as well call yourself Santa because you've given me (and I'm sure many of the rest of us here at CC) a gift this holiday as well.  Bless you and congrats!!!

Hi, Team 2!!!

My name is Becky.  I am 35, married, 2 kids, yada, yada.  I am so excited about this challenge!  This was the 1st year that I watched the Biggest Loser and it literally changed my life.  The people on the show showed me that I really can do what I have always wanted to do. 

So, did anyone watch the finale last night?  Did you know who would win?  Who were you routing for?

Also - should we come up with a team name?  Besides Team 2, as catchy as that is...  :)

I, too, agree with what everyone has said, but also, you have to understand that you have lost a significant amount of weight so your friends don't know what your perfect weight looks like - compared to what you were I'm sure you do look amazing and drastically different!  They haven't seen your collarbone, your jawline, your new shape for long enough to adjust to it. It sounds like you have made very healthy and wise choices so it isn't for them to decide. 

The other thing that you might be dealing with is a bit of jealousy?  Let's face it, most people we all know would love to lose 15 lbs. but they don't.  Then here you come, the "big" one, and you are going to more in shape than they are?  It can be a little hard to take.  Just stick to your goals.  Only you know what's best for you.

My new hobby is crazy - for me anyway - I am taking Kung Fu!  I am also really getting into swimming and I like to play basketball with my daughter.  In the past, I NEVER would have tried a physical activity that had a very high potential of making me look like an idiot.  But, I'm doing this!  I have never been athletic so it's not like I have that experience to lean on.  My goal is to be in shape enough by the spring to join a softball team.

I think I'm doing a pretty great job on my workouts and what is most unusual for me, and why I started this post, is that I am ENJOYING them!  Really!  I never used to enjoy working out! I would hear people say that once you get into your workout you're so glad you're there and how after your workout you felt so much energy...not me.  I hated getting ready for the workout, hated it while I was doing it, hated it after I did it.  So to be looking forward top the gym is absolutely a new place for me.

My theory is that if you are going to "fall off the wagon" make it a choice and own it.  Continue to record what you eat - all of it - and let yourself enjoy your break.  Otherwise, it won't be the food, it will be the head games, the guilt, that knocks you completely off the wagon.  Then, when you are ready, take a look at where you are at and tell yourself, "OK, that was fun, but back to work!"  You know how when you go on vacation you come back to twice as much to do at work?  It's not like the tasks do themselves, unfortunately.  But, you just dig in and get it done and you certainly don't regret having taken a vacation.  Good luck!

Thanks, you guys!  Yes, Tim is very supportive and he has his own weight to lose so we can do it together.

Cellulitedelight - people can be so weird.  I remember once a family friend commenting on how thin my cousin was and then she said, "I can't wait until she has kids and gets fat like the rest of us"  I was so offended!  My cousin is beautiful and why anyone would wish a weight problem on her I will never understand.  It's so unfortunate that such a memorable moment for you will always be connected to such a careless comment.  But I know you know what you've got.  Walk it off, baby, walk it off. ;0
