well i was thinking its the salt thing.. but i didnt consume any more sodium than i usually do. i am premenstrual... but a 5 pound gain has never happened before. |

yeah blackrse64 i know what you mean.. like everytime i finish practice i get soooo hungry. i just eat and eat and eat. And usually afternoon practice ends pretty late (around 8 pm) so i bet its even worse for me to eat that much anyone know foods that are super filling.. like with lots of protein but not as much carbs/calories? and meat usually takes some time to cook.. which means by the time its done, i probably ate like 50 pounds of crackers/cookies/anything i can find. |

usually what i pack for lunch: -bagel + lowfat cream cheese. -tangerine, orange, bannana (plus any fruit i can find in the pantry.) -tropicana grapefruit juice -string cheese -mini pretzels -low fat yogurt -water!
this usually adds up to be around 800 calories, which is just right. |

15 yrs. 140lbs. burn probably 2000 cals/day (swim 2-3 hrs) and i eat bout 2000-2200.. i cut down sometimes to 1800 the lowest. |

fooze is completely right. and even if you are doing it in sets and intervals, if you are using paddle and a bouy the whole time you have a high chance of developing a shoulder injury. I would suggest using different equipment like bouy, fins, kickboard etc. that way you stress a variety of muscles in the water. |

woahh seriously?!
3000 seems like a lot but on some occasions i probably consume more than that. yeah but apparantly the docs say that i need to lose some weight (i am 140 right now) like about 5 pounds.. |

I am 15, 5'7 and 142. I found this site when i was looking for amount of calories that swimmers are supposed to take in.. im not here for loosing weight as much as maintaining it but my goal is still to get off 5 pounds in the next 3 months or so... since i excersise a lot (2-4 hours a day), and i am very competitive in my sport, i cant cut my calories down too low so im looking for ways to slowly ease off those pounds. :D |
