Missed the weigh in day, again! Doesn't look like any one posted on Wed, weigh in day! What's up with that? Is everyone giving up on this thread? Just wondering... SW 199 (1/4/08) SW 170.4 (7/23/08 this group) LW 145.8 TW 144.0 I have officially entered maintenence. My lifestyle diet changes have worked! It has been a long and sometimes difficult journey. (mostly in the beginning!) I can't believe I am in the 140's - it's been 20 yrs since I last weighed in the 140's! (When I became pregnant with my middle daughter!) If I can do this anyone can!!! To see what worked for me, check out my journal entry Lifestyle Changes - posted 6/1. The only thing I have had to modify is my eating habits. I am basically a sedintary person and if I would exercise I know the weight would come off faster! Also I would be healthier, don't know why I am so adverse to exercise! Told husband I'd like to get a WII for Xmas. I've been asking for one for about 1 yr, now. Hopefully I'll have him convinced by Dec. My thinking is it will help me get moving a bit more. Good luck to everyone and keep on ccing!! It really works!! |

I'm late, once again! LOL Happy Anniversary today! Chose not to go out to eat for dinner tonight! SW 199 (1/4/08) SW 170.4 (7/23/08 - this group) LW 145.4 MW 145.8 9/21 (still slightly obese - per this BMI chart) no weigh in Wed the 23rd Up and down! doing the yo - yo. I have added more food to my plan. Am now having 3 protein (up .5)/ unlimited veggies/ 3 fruit (up 1)/ 4 starch(up 1)/ 2 fat/ 3 dairy(up 1) between 1350-1500 calories daily. I was getting about 1500 way back in Jan and Feb of 2008. When I reduced to 1200 cals (rarely less, usually within 30, give or take), that's when I started loosing weight. Have been adding a food group weekly for the last 5 wks, part of the stabilization phase. Just added the extra starch on Monday. I'm betting the scale is way up tomorrow. I wouldn't be surprised to see 150 lbs, that's how full I am feeling right now! Have also ate out 3x so far this wk! Mostly good choices but you know how it is, hidden fats and sodium are not my friends!!! Feeling tight, like I'm retaining water. Also, hips a bit sore! Weather was kinda overcast and rained just a bit today. On days like this, I never know if it's the weather or the sodium! I will use the hot bath tip! Makes sense to me!!! Thank you, change _ in_sc ! Where is everyone???
Mini goal this week - Focus on getting my food groups and home cooking! Watch weight and see if I need to reduce a food group! Good luck everyone, keep on ccing. Nancy |

The Dr's scale said 144.8 and measured my height as 63" or 5' 3". Have I shrunk? Or last yr was I wearing shoes? lol Good Luck to everyone this week and keep on ccing! |

Haven't weighed myself since then. Scales don't seem to be doing much. Up a lb down a lb. I have been eating out alot this week. Also not getting all my meals or food groups in. Need to focus and do better with my planning and eating. I have been zigzagging this wk, too. Let's see if it makes a difference for next weeks weigh in. Nancy |

I've been fluctuating back and forth about 2 lbs this week. Gave up on the quitting smoking, just a temporary set back. I WILL try again, need to get my mind wrapped around it. I guess I'm just not ready yet. mini goal for this week - find an exercise class to attend or start walking the dog again. I know she loves it, I just hate picking up the poop. She always makes a drop when we walk, no matter if she just went or not! Keep on ccing everyone. |

losingit57 - woo hoo - you are so close to goal! Did you find it easier or harder to stay motivated as you got closer? I've got about 25 pounds more to go, and have suddenly started to feel more mentally challenged. I think its because there has now been dramatically enough change to start getting the effusive 'you look great' comments from people I haven't seen since the higher weight (it seriously took about 30-40 pounds before there was much big reaction anyway, but that likely b/c I've fluctuated all over the place in the past few years - but am now at the lowest that work people had ever seen). And I am starting to look and feel good in clothes. So I guess I'm feeling a little *too* comfortable despite knowing that I still have a final stretch to go.... makphl - ditto on all the above! The last post shows where I am mentally. lol I am now at my lowest weight in 18 yrs. linz - WOW! You are a pretty girl, no matter what weight, but WOW! It was difficult to recognize which one you are in that 2nd pic ... tammy - I agree with makphl. Eveything she said is GREAT advice! Looking at my weekly history, I am zigzagging, too. The link she suggested will help you understand the burn and deficit. jodi - I've also wanted to start a yoga class, something easy on the joints. I really need to get more exercise. I'm hoping things will calm down and I'll have more time for myself, here real soon. Quotes for the week: "Every day may not be good, but there is something good in every day." - Anonymous "Some days there won't be a song in your heart, sing anyway" - Emory Austin Have a good week, no matter what. Keep on ccing! Nancy |

sw 199 (1/4/08) sw 170.4 (7/23/08-this group) lw 147.2 tw146.4 gw 145-140-135 I'll know when I get there! Hi all! I made it on Wed! Almost forgot again! You know what they say about memory and age!! August has been a really stressed out month for me, too! What with taking time off til the 6th, I've been trying to play catch up with my work assignments all month. I would typically be done for the month by now, but I still have 2 SIPP and 2 ACS cases still uncompleted. One case I haven't even opened, yet! I guess I've basically been 1 week behind all month. Brianne (19 yr old) is back at University. She moved into an apt w/her dorm room mate from last yr, also her best friend in HS. The neighborhood is not the best, it's about 3 blocks from campus. I'm really concerned about their safety and if the academics will suffer since they're not living on campus. Oh well, she has got to spread her wings and fly!(And Mom has to let her! ha-ha) On the bright side, she is still only about 15 miles from home and will most likely be stopping in wkly to do laundry. My 18 yr old son was supposed to start classes today at the local area college. He woke me up about 630am and said he didn't think he was ready to go to college, yet. (He waited til after Dad had left for work) I asked him if he was just getting cold feet or if he had really given this decision much thought. After about 20 minute discussion and calling Dad to talk about it, too, we decided to go to campus and drop all classes, return books, etc... I know my son...If he isn't wholeheartedly into it, he'll just be spinning his wheels wasting time and money! Trying not to be too disappointed here! Hopefully he will be ready to try again next semester. On top of all this turmoil, my husband and I have been trying to stop smoking! Did ok over the wkend but have had relapses yesterday and today! Oh well, tomorrow is another day! Not that anytime is a good time to quit, but seems like this has been an exceptionally bad week. I am concerned about weight gain. In the past I've always gained when I've tried to quit. (One time I gained 30 lbs in as many days!)OK, rant done. I know and have the tools I need to succeed!!!!! "Never, never, never give up!!" mini goals - no more eating out this wk! Plan, plan, plan!

Forgot to post Wed, oops! sw 199 (1/4/08) sw 170.4 (7/23/08-this group) lw 147.8 (first weigh in since vacation) Was pleasantly surprised it wasn't more! tw 147.2 gw 145-140-135 I'll know when I get there! Slightly disappointed it wasn't more. No eating out, but very little exercise, basically just chasing 3 yr old grandson and 2 or 3 hrs gardening. New measurements 8/11/09 bust 40 under bust 35 waist 34 hip 37 thigh 18 Don't forget to do your measurements every 2 months or so! Even if the scale isn't moving much, the measurements can still be changing! They kept me motivated when I had reached a weight plateau. myksgirl - How about some pics? Doesn't it feel awesome when people finally notice you've lost weight! linz - Congrats! You have really gotten back on track. Yeah, Linz! holfisher - Half a pound is better than none! I had forgotten about the mini goals! Thanks for reminding me. makphl - 1 lb! Way to go! I know what you mean about sweets! I was eating dark chocolate there pretty regularly for about a wk. One 60 cal stick daily, not to out of whack. But it shouldn't be a daily treat. Not if I want to each my goal! littlem - Don't get upset with the weight plateau. Try using the measurements. It sure helped me stay motivated during a plateau. vcruicky - Glad to see you back! A quote I saw from a fellow brit; "It's all right letting yourself go - as long as you can get yourself back." - Mick Jagger I doubt he was thinking about weight loss, though. LOL Welcome to all the new girls! Remember, this a marathon not a sprint. It didn't take 1 or 2 months to get where you are now and it won't take 1 or 2 months to get where you want to be! (Except for maybe camsmami) "Discipline is remembering what you want!" "Great works are performed not by strength but by perseverance!" "Never, never, never give up!" Nancy |

Hi all! =) I've been missing in action for pretty much the same reasons as Linz. Vacation 7/24 thru 8/4, then the aftermath of vacation and playing catch up with work, home and yard. Had a great vacation! Went to my in laws cabin in Silvergate, MT - it is about 1/2 mile from the NE entrance to Yellowstone Nat'l Park. Gosh, I love it out there. We skipped going out last yr. We usually take 17 day vacation, but due to Brian's job situation(the company he worked for 13 yrs closed and he was unemployed for 4 days before getting another job!) we were actually very fortunate to get any vacation this yr! Saw all the animals but moose, we didn't see any moose 2 yrs ago, either! Makes me wonder if the wolves have killed most of the population or just chased them off. Saw a young grizzly bear walking beside the rd, going over Dunraven pass, that was pretty exciting! It was just there when we came around a switchback, didn't have time to take picture till he had walked past the van! Father-in-law got picture of his behind out the back window! Also saw a large bull buffalo ram a car during a buffalo jam. That was a first! well here goes - SW 199 1/08 SW 170.4 7/23/08 this thread LW 148 7/24/09 the last weigh in before vacation TW 147.4 ta da! I didn't sabotage myself on vacation! I did have wine with dinner on 3 different nights(usually just a rare treat). The closest grocery stores were 90 miles away, through the mountains! Gardiner, MT or Cody, WY. Just for the 10 days were actually at the cabin I spent about $240 on groceries, about 2x my wkly bill at home. This doesn't count eating out 2x during the 10 days and eating out while traveling! Things have settled down and we're back to normal here at home. I'm still trying to catch up with all my work for the Census Bureau, though. New assignments are released the 1st of the month, so the stress level is back up there. Hope to have all other work completed before CPS starts. CPS, the unemployment rate study, starts this Sunday the 16th, my supervisor has given me 49 (usually have 30-40)cases to complete in 9 days, also told me a coworker is taking vacation during the middle of the week and any cases she has left over I will be following up on! Boy, was I ever, even gone?!? Don't know if I'll have time to post next wk, but will definitely be ccing! Quote I'd like to share - "Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass; It's about learning to dance in the rain." Happy sunny day everyone!

Weigh in day is Wed. If you haven't already, I encourage you to take your starting measurements. They will pay off! Sometimes the scales don't seem to be moving as fast as we would like, but the inches may still be coming off.( I found this extremely encouraging when I was stalled in the 160's for like 5 months!) Have a happy sunny day! Nancy |

Once again...forgot to post on Wed. SW 199 1/4/08 SW 170.4 this group 7/23/08 LW 149.2 7/1/09 TW 149.8 7/8/09 Did see 148.6 on Monday 7/6. Not sure why the 1.2 lb weight gain in 2 days, have been sticking to my "diet" very religiously. Was a bit concerned I might start binge eating, Thurs 7/2 through the wkwnd, but I held my ground and used the tools I've learned through this site and LAWL. I got a call Thursday afternoon about 330pm from my hubby. He asked me to come pick him up from work. He told me the company he works for had just closed their doors and would be filing bankruptcy! My husband, Brian, is an HVAC service tech. His company has been struggling for about 5 yrs, now. They had done a couple major construction projects and had to sue to get the money owed them. The owners son went through a messy divorce and funds disappeared!( His wife had worked in the office) Brian was getting pretty grouchy and depressed over the wkend. First thing Monday, he went to the union hall and unemployment ofc. While he was gone I got a call from 3 different mechanical company's wanting to offer Brian a job! He met with the first one that called and they offered him everything he had before, at Accurate, he took the job! Yeah!!!! Now I have my happy go-lucky hubby back! Luckily, we were spared having to get into savings to make ends meet. Both the kids will continue attending the colleges or their choice, and we still get to go on vacation the 25th of this month! Gotta go - time to get ready for work! Thank you Lord, we are truly blessed.

nappytop - Wow! Awesome job on the 10lb loss! I typically eat 1200, also. Some days a bit more, somedays a bit less. As long as you're getting at least 20% fat(40 grams and under), 20% protein(about 60 grams) and at least 50% carbs(200 grams or less)you should be ok. jodi - Congrats on the new size jeans! Isn't it great to be buying clothes in the "regular" sizes again! I know what you mean about looking in mirror and seeing the old size! For me, I still see size 18! I do have a pair of "skinny" jeans that make my fanny and legs looks super! At about 150 lbs I'm now wearing a size 12 jean and size 10 skirt! Never, ever thought I'd be here again! I will be going on a short road trip Thurs - Sat. Should be able to weigh in Wed, though. Did an official LAWL weigh in today, gained 2 lbs! I think it is water retention due to that darn sodium. Had dinner at in-laws yesterday, Ham and Kumla(Norwegian potato balls), and of course we put butter all over everything! I brought my own "diet" oly, though. Oh yeah, had 1/2 slice cherry pie for dessert! Back on track today, though. Will be home cooking till Thursday so weigh in should be good Wed. Happy ccing everyone! |

Forgot to post on Wed. Here goes: SW 199 1/4/08 SW 170.4 this group 7/23/08 LW 150.2 TW 148.8 GW 145 would really like to see 140, now that I'm getting closer. I still am a bit thick around the middle. The weight seems to be most stubborn to loose there. Will be doing measurements again the first wk in July, about every 2 months. The weight has been all over the scales. I've seen 151.6 to 148.8, I'm thinking water retention due to sodium. Have been eating out quite a bit, usually good choices, but sodium content is always high. Joints have been bothering me lately. I've been blaming it on the weather. We've been getting lots of rain here in IA. Today is the first day it hasn't rained all week, but they're predicting rain again for tomorrow!(Here come the floods) But looking at my sodium avg for the last 2 wks I am around 2100, which is high for me. That and the weather are to blame. mini goal for next wk - cook! Try not to eat out so much. This will be tough as I am doing a little road trip with Aunt Sandy next wkend. Should be able to cook for myself and family till Thurs at least! PREPLAN!!! I CAN do it! halizabeth - glad to see you are still lurking out there. ( I think that is the term used)Sure have missed your sense of humor with the side of smart ass thrown in! lol This is a long and sometimes hard journey. Just remember - Never, never, never give up! lynners - GREAT JOB on the loss this week. Keep up the good work! pbear - You are amazing! The weight you've lost and maintained is inspirational! Hope all is well with you and the family. I've kept you in my thoughts and prayers! linz - Congrats on the 40's! I seem to be barely hanging on to them myself. Lots of fluctuations! Seems to be pretty typical, though. Where are you going for your holiday? We are going to Montana 7/25 thru 8/9. I love being in the mountains. Always do lots of hiking and eating, though, when we're out there! lol jodi - congrats to you on your loss! You WILL be in the 80's in no time! Do you do measurements? If you did a starting measurement and have been keeping track every couple months or so that can be very motivating. Sometimes, when it seems the loss has stalled, the measurements show us things are still moving! all the newcomers - welcome and good luck to you! As you can see from these posts - It CAN be done. Patience and persistence are the keys! There is no magic pill, just determination and keeping your eye on the goal! Happy sunny day, today!

Missed the weigh in day. I haven't done an official weigh in at LAWL since Monday 6/8. I weighed 150.2, then. Did pretty good all week until last night. My cousin called and asked hubby and me to join them at pizza ranch. Brian was happy to join, really looking forward to the fried chicken!(Made a comment as we were leaving, he said,"I'd forgotten that chicken comes with skin on it!") I did ok at salad bar, but then went back for 2 slice pizza, chicken, mashed potatoes, and a slice of apple dessert pizza! Damn my willpower! Had a great time visiting and socializing, though. Once again, I'm not going to beat myself up over it. Just need to make good choices the rest of the week. Will post weight on Monday, after "official" weigh in. Hopefully I will be back in the 140's by then. Happy ccing, Nancy |

SW 199 1/4/08 SW 170.4 this group 7/23/08 LW 149.8 TW 150.2 Here we go-roller coaster ride with the numbers. I was expecting it though, so not too bummed. Seems like I do this everytime I get into another 10ths weight. (Does that make sense?) What I mean is since I went from 150's down to 140's my weight just keeps going up down up down. I really want to be solidly in the 140's by the end of this month. I've been busier around the house and yard, lately. Hopefully that will make a difference. Jodi - 5 lbs a month is awesome! I typically loose about 2 lbs a month! Linz - Hang in there. You're doing great! If you're getting dicouraged, think about where you were 1 yr ago, that should help you feel better! pbear - Glad to see your post! Hope all is going well for you and your family. I'm with you, Come back all you gals out there. We miss you and want and need the encouragement! Good luck to all! Hope you have a successful week. |

Sounds like we all have the same problem : Do fine, till later in the day! Last night hubby and I had a dinner date. Went for chinese at my favorite place! They will make Sweet and Sour Chicken with no breading and dry wok for me! (Dry wok means less oil) I also had a small egg roll, 3 steamed dumplings, a cup of hot and sour soup. By the time my entree came I could barely eat my entree. Had bout 1/2 c and brought the rest home. Then, later in the evening, while watching movie, my husband pulls out a bag of trail mix! Not the healthy kind, chocolate and nut! I was able to limit myself to 1/2 c(2 servings per the bag) but it wasn't on my list of things to eat for the day, so there was an added 300 cals and 16 g fat!!!! But I'm not beating myself up over it! Today is a new day and I will not eat anything that isn't on my plan for today! I'm sorry if I gave the impression I am not smoking. I still smoke! I did quit for 7 months, this last time, from 8/07 till about 2/08. Hubby didn't quit and I let that influence me. Started stressing out about something and begging him for ciggies. DISGUSTING! I had made a vow to myself that I would be smoke free when I turned 50 and stay that way! Well, half of it came true. Hubby and I are talking about quitting again. I have gotten an Rx for chantix. I know, I know, there is no magic pill, but if this can get me going I'm determined to make it work this time. I just need to get my mind wrapped around it! I'm kinda scared cuz I know I have always gained weight in the past, when I have quit. That is part of the reason the lbs have snuck up on me over the yrs, that and many other reasons. Later. Nancy |

Start weight: 199lbs 1/4/08 Current weight: 149.8 6/2/09
Total weight gained: .6 lb since 5/29. And I've been pretty darn good! I'm blaming sodium! Expected weight loss:1.5 lb by June 12. Have any of you gals checked out my journal post? What did you think? Was it helpful? mandie- Yes - LAWL stands for LA weight loss. I started their program 3/4/ 08. I had quit smoking in July 08 and started gaining weight, was already 180. Started WW in Sept and kept at it till just after my birthday in Oct. Weighed about 176, then. Decided to do Nutri-system, bought my 21 days of food -7 days free. It was really hard to stick to that, as I still had to cook for my family. Also, most of the food tasted the same and it wasn't very tasty after about 1 week. So after Jan 1, 08 I stopped into LAWL and heard their pitch. Thought, whoa- way to expensive, and started seriously working cc. Eating around 1500 a day.LAWL called me back in Feb with a 1/2 price offer and I paid up. After all the paperwork, I was told that I had to wait 4 weeks to start the program because I had had surgery(female stuff) the week before. Hence the 3/4/08 start date. I weighed 195, so I'd lost 4 lbs in 1 month just ccing! I have "won" 4 addt'l weeks of weight loss and paid for 26 more back in Jan this yr. So now my program is 72 weeks of weight loss - 6 weeks stabilization - 37 weeks of maintenance. After I finish the stabilization phase (if I stay within 5lbs of goal) I will get 25% of my money back. After maintenance phase (still within 5 lbs of goal) I get another 25% back! My goal by the way was 145lbs. All this because I needed the accountability and one on one support! But it is working, and I keep telling myself that I am WORTH it! I'm not trying to pitch LAWL, I'm just giving you my story. Can someone please help me post a picture? Everytime I try, I get an error msg. My husband usually handles all the photo shop stuff. I guess I'm still pretty computer illiterate! lol Nancy |

Where is everyone? sw 199 1/4/08 lw 152.4 tw 149.8 gw 145-140 The numbers look good today. But I did an official weigh in 5/29 and I was at 149.2, so I'm actually up since last friday, .6 lb. The good news is I finally broke into the 140's. The bad news is here comes the up/down - up/down. I am trying very hard to keep the weight loss momentum going! Haven't ate out for quite sometime. But I heard on the radio today that Panera Bread has the Strawberry Poppyseed Salad back again. I hear a salad calling my name! lol Nancy |

Posted my lifestyle changes "diet" plan in my journal today. I had actually sent this info to another cc'er a few months back. LAWL switched up my eating schedule when I got within 10lbs of goal. I now eat 2.5 protein, 3 veggies, 2 fruit, 3 starch, 2 dairy and 2 fat daily. No, I don't exercise per say but I do park further from the door and take stairs instead of elevator, etc., etc. Every little bit helps! Any questions email me on my website, or add comment to my journal post. Will try to check them daily. Just remember - This is a marathon, not a sprint. It will take time, be patient and good to yourself. Reward yourself for goals met! Also invest in a flexible tape measure! Take your measurements every 2 months! When I was stuck in the 160's for 5 months I wasn't seeing much weight loss, but the inches were still melting off! Amazing, and it kept me motivated! Measure your bust at the biggest spot - measure under bust (rib cage) - measure waist (stand with arms straight by your side and bend to the left, that's where your waist is at) measure hips - measure left and right thigh (about where your wrist is at if standing straight up with arms hanging at your side) Be honest with yourself! Why do you want to loose weight? What are your eating triggers? Do you really have to have that thing you are about to put in your mouth? If you bite it write it. ( An old weight watchers quote, but still a good one) I love being able to "help" others! |

OMG! At weigh in Fri 5/29 I weighed 149.2. 3 lb loss since Tuesday the 26. How can it be? Must be from sodium(water retention)! That is almost 50lbs lost and 4.8 to goal! I have now officialy hit the 140's! yeah! Hope I can get below 145(goal w/ LAWL) before stabalization phase in 7 wks, starting 7/26. It has been a long journey. Started at 199lbs January 4th 2008. There have been many set-backs, joys, traumas, rewards, etc. I believe that now I have the tools and knowledge to keep the weight off! Of course, that is going to be the real challenge, once I hit goal. Hope this is motivating for all you gals! As you all should know, I don't exercise! Though I have been moving more since the weather has been so nice. If any one is interested I would be happy to post my "diet" (lifestyle changes), if you like, just let me know. I really need to get motivated and start up some form of exercise. Have wanted to get a wii for about a yr now. Seems like all the other expenses have been holding me back. Bought a new vacuum sweeper, yesterday. Best Buy had the Dyson's on sale, 20% off. I've been looking at them for over a yr, and my old vacuum has been getting steadily worse and worse. With the sale price I was finally able to talk hubby into it! We bought the "Animal" DC 25, the only difference is the power bar attatchment. Well, I put it to the test! After putting together the new vac, I vacuumed the carpets with the old vac, then went back over with the Dyson. Yep, their was a bunch more dog hair and dander in the bin! Wow, never thought I'd get sooo excited about cleaning! Yuck! LOL Hope everyone has a wonderful wkend! "Never, never, never give up!" Nancy |

SW 199 for lawl Jan/08 SW for this group 7/23/08 170.4 LW 150.8 TW 152.4 ( urgh...) up 1.6 Well, didn't do so good this last week - as the numbers show! Ate out Fri and Sat, not good choices, either. Pizzaria and mexican, high sodium foods! Sunday was Matt's grad party (HS) and I had 4 glasses of wine over the course of the day. I rarely drink alcohol as I don't want or need the extra calories! Tried to snack on the veggies and fruit, but also had beef and cheese sandwich, potato salad, pasta salad, and chips! High sodium! I knew I'd be paying for it at weigh in today! lol What I didn't realize is how bad my body feels! Joints ache and general stiffness and soreness. Once again, I'm blaming the sodium! (It couldn't have anything to do with the 2 days of cleaning house, moving furniture, setting up party tables and chairs - then taking them down! And the stress, stress, stress) Overall the party was a hugh success - good times had by all! The weather cooperated and we had a beautiful day, slightly overcast - with a nice breeze. Two of my 80+ yr old aunts showed up from eastern IA and that was a wonderful surprise. Hope everyone had a great holiday weekend! Back on the healthier eating bandwagon for me! I will get the scales moving in the right direction, again. |

SW 199 1/08 LW 150.4 TW 150.8 Almost a 1/2 lb gain. I think it maybe due to water retention from sodium, though. Ate at Apple-bee's Sunday evening after Matt's Graduation ceremony. Didn't make good choices, either! Steakhouse burger, fries w/ketchup, spinach dip and chips. The calories and fat were sky high, not sure about the sodium as Apple-bee's doesn't post that, but I'm positive the sodium was sky high, too. I've been making good choices so far this week, but not eating on schedule cuz of my job and not packing a lunch! It's CPS (determines unemployment rate for the nation, we have 9-10 days to complete our work) week and I'm taking Thurs, Fri, Sat, and Sun off to prepare for Matt's grad party. So I've been working 10 hr days just to keep up. Lots of stress and yesterday was also the 1 yr anniversary of my Mother's passing. It's been hard not to go into binge eating mode. The stress and grief have been taking their toll in other ways, tho. I've been really bitchy with the family, outbursts of hissy fits, some yelling, and generally not a nice person to be around. Haven't had the TOM for about 2 yrs now, but I can remember getting like this during that time. YUCK!! I had to sit down last night and analyze all these feelings and apologize to my family. The kids and I went to Mom's grave and cleaned it up a bit. Also, planted some flowers and that made me feel better! Enough ranting! The sun is shining, it's a beautiful day, I have a wonderful family and husband, we are all healthy, I'm gainfully employed...Life is good! Good Luck to all you cc'ers and "Never, never, never, give up!" Nancy |

Sorry- I've been busy with work, kids, gardening, life!! My 18 yr old, "baby" Matt, is graduating HS Sun 5/17. My younger daughter, Brianne(19), just moved back home from college for the summer, Thursday. My oldest child, Sara(30), is expecting her 2nd child in Nov13. Took her to an ob-gyn apptFriday morning, her first ultrasound. Too early to tell the gender yet, she's only 13 wks along, but she has another one scheduled in 6 wks, should be able to tell then. We're hoping for a girl. She already has a 3 yr old son, the JOY of my life! I went out and bought a couple flats of annuals and some tomato and pepper plants a week ago and have been trying desperately to get a little gardening in every day. Was supposed to work today, since I'm taking most of next week off to get ready for the grad party. Cleaning house - yuck!! Instead of working, I've been cooking up a storm! Have made a cheesy broccoli soup, tuna salad, and have ground 3lbs of chicken breast to freeze for later use, so far today. (All this so I can control sodium)Still need to get out to the garden and get some more done there. Probably won't get any work done for my job! oh well, I'm not going to stress about it! I try to cc every night before bed, that way I am accurate on what I actually ate for the day! Sorry to hear you've been having some "binge" days! But we all do once in awhile. The trick is not to let it get you down. Start over the next day! Never, never, never give up! This is a "marathon not a sprint", a quote from one of my cc buddies. You will soon find that those "binge" days get farther and farther apart - till you just have 1 or 2 a month. Some good "go to" foods for cravings
These are just a few of my fav's. Time to go out to the garden and dig in the dirt! I love gardening! It's like therapy to me! Not just the vegetable garden, but flowers, too! You plant a tiny seed or plant, give it love and water and watch it grow! With the vegetable garden your reward is great tasting produce and the flowers are beautiful to look at! What gratification!

SW 1/08 199 LW 153.0 TW 150.4 All time low! Haven't seen this since getting pregnant with my 19 yr old daughter in 1989! Only 5.4 lbs to official goal of 145. I would definately like to see 140- 135, though. 145 just barely gets me into the normal BMI range. Don't know what I did cuz did eat out 3x last week. Looking back, my calories were all over the map, is that zigzagging? Watched the "Biggest Loser" last night for the very first time. My oldest daughter, Sara, came over and she has been keeping up with it all season. Last night was the season finale(as I'm sure you all know, lol)and it was very inspiring to see the before and after of all the contestants. Way to go Helen and Jerry! Have a great week ladies! I'm hoping to see some sunshine today - not much yesterday - afternoon and evening showers and still raining this morning! |
