Snow: Done!..nice pic!

Randi: Well talk about the other end of the spectrum...lol welcome....gaining is easy just eat lots of junk food, ice cream, ensure, chocolates, breads, pastas.....no really I am just kidding...sounds like a whirlwind you have been in, hang in there!

Alice: Those old injuries can come back to bite us later in life can't they?

Bonnie: Enjoy your 6 days off? Yeah no cooking eh! Is the 6 days off because of thankgiving? woohoo!

Laura: They are not po'd or hanging on till I decide, they are just as content to go out for turkey dinner to a restaurant that day as they do every year, so it is no bother to them at all having to wait, you have to know my family.....shouldn't make such quick judgements on people you don't know it's safer right?Wink

TBL I missed Jay Leno last night but Allen was the best choice I hope Liz goes next....Has anyone noticed just how nice there necks and faces look now with all that fat gone...this is my whole reason for starting my weight loss other then the healthy reasons was to get my thin face back and no double chin or belly...grrr

Wasn't that mascot at the end funny grabbing his belly!..lolLaughing

Boy lately I have missed alot of things, I taped the wrong show last night and missed the first hour of dancing with the stars....I didn't want Donny to win I thought i saw some conceit in him! I also missed the American Music awards all toghter...wha?? Tried finding it online but could only see peices here and there, and there were some interesting spots, wardrobe malfunctions, slips on stage etc too!   I always miss the good stuff...lol

Another cloudy day and what can I say nothing new to report stil maintaining I start out so good, go all day on good calorie count and blow it every night..Frown..grrrr

Also on TBL what was it when they were all talking to Jillian they said they all had a strategy from the beginning what was it?? And Jillian got ticked and said tell the truth? Does anyone know what it is??

Well I have nothing much to say today girls, sorry....waiting to hear from Brian on Kyle and xmas...$$...later BEB

Alan is in good shape now he needed to be the next to leave......Someone mentioned that Liz and Danny were an item?....I thought Danny was married? I think it is great that they have all lost so much weight in there face and necks too, this is where I want to lose it also! Finaly 4 woohoo!  Anyone but Rudy ...please!  He is such a back stabber...what did they mean when they said there elimation strategy is the same as at the beginning when talking to Jillian...I thought the mascot grabing his pudgy belly at the end was funny!..BEBKiss

It's busy on here.....'THE BIGGEST LOSER TONIGHT'!  Are you taping it Bonnie?  Purple CARROTS wonder why they turned orange?

Chris: Sounds like you will have a nice romantic time for thankgiving!  You deserve it.......relax with a little dinner and wine, some nice music and no kids around...woohoo! Wink I was in my freezer yesterday and I came across that pumpkin pie your recipe from last year I had made 2, ate one last year, I wish I had of put splenda in it though it was sweet if I remember...it was something to do with pumpkins wasn't it?

Nancy: I think the reason it posts twice is you accidentily hit 'post reply' twice!! Are you getting a little walking in or perhaps a SB for indoors may help!

Margaret: My my 7lbs, well get back on the wagon..fast..Wink and you should be able to shed it quickly, I find if I stay at a weight awhile then gain a little that gain is easy to lose rather then doing nothing about losing it like I have been bad lately! Those waves sound great, did you post any pics in your gallery yet?

Laura: I always put my turkey in cold water in the sink, still in the wrapper and 1 hour per lb to defrost I usually put it in the sink the night before I need it...lol

Lovely: Long time since you dropped by welcome back!

Alice: Did you have surgery or something on your weak knee years ago? Is this why you are having problems with it now or is this from your recent injury only?

Well I had invited Maggie and dad for xmas and they happily agreed to come and then yesterday I called them back and told them I really wasn't sure if I was into the mood with KYle gone and I was quietly thinking of all the extra work this xmas I am not sure I want....I mean it is alot of extra work with having them here, cleaning, buying alot more foods, cooking, entertaining, and my back!I am not even sure if I will put up a tree?Frown....whether they come or not I will still cook my turkey but they go to bed so early like 9pm.....and then what to do with them all day..I just can't seem to get into the xmas mood without Kyle..so I will just send Kyle some $$ or gift certificates and let him buy what he wants...I don't even feel like shopping and anyway my money is going mostly to wipe out my visa bill anyway this year....I know you all can call me scrooge I may not even put up that impossible 7ft tree...takes so much work...pulling out all the branches, fitting it in the trunk, all the decorations, tinsel etc..and for what just me...if I did put it up it would be just for Buttons and Angel and that seems silly! I will only be picking up bulbs all season...maybe I will change my mind as I told Maggie yesterday...gosh I even invited my borther David but he goes to his wife Donna's family for xmas in Georgia so anyway the bottom line I told Maggie to wait until 1 week before xmas maybe by then I will know what I want to do...perhaps the snow will help............anyway another cloudy 5*C or 40F day and just looking forward to working out on my SB to TBL tonight!

Thanksgiving: It must seem strange to have a turkey in November so close to xmas ours is the second Monday in Oct usually...weird though I guess that's why so many people have turkey now and ham at xmas or ham now and turkey at xmas...! I did ask who is staying home for xmas and who is traveling?

I wonder how Carols pregnant daughter is doing she should be due soon eh??

Anyway to all those who I may have missed, or haven't posted in awhile...Happy Thanksgiving..and try not to PIG OUT or do an "Alice" hehehehe...remember that eh Alice from last year..hehehe.

Have a nice day ! BEBKiss...woohoo Biggest Loser tonight!

Banana pudding or banana bread I use to make it all the time, but not now, there are other fruits with less calories I can eat but for the sake of potassium i do try to eat them monthly!

Bonnie: Cool as a cucumber yeah that's a good saying.Laughing....so on a hot day cut open a cucumber and slap it on your neck to cool off, or your eyes to rejuvenate, or in a salad to perk it up!..lol? Hey Bonnie how did your shopping trip go did you get lots of goodies for xmas......?????

Ohio: How has your 179 been going down at all!

Kyle and Brian are going to go to the legion for there xmas this year for turkey dinner, and Nicole and Rob are going to her parents....wish I had more $$ this xmas seems silly me staying home alone, if I could only trust not to fight with Brian I may almost invite them here!  He probably can't afford the Via rail for 2?Have to give it some thought!..Any thoughts????

Well it's a nice day today sunny and again 7*C so I am going for a walk around the lake....I have showered taken my back pils so I am off to get some real exercise...in fact I think I wil walk down which is 1.75 miles and walk around and take the bus back cuz by then my back will be crying....have a nice day all!Cool.............BEBKiss

By the way what happen to our saying game did everyone forget or just give up?

Saying: Good things come in small packages......hehehe

Edit: I came back from a gorgeous walk around the lake, Coolyou wouldn't believe how many people are fishing for perch down there, there are hundreds of people....where they pull out the big sail and motor boats with there fishing lines in, it is so very nice to see..it makes my day to see people together enjoying one of my favorite sports...I think tomorrow I may go down and join in the fun...my license is paid up till Dec i always get a 3-year just haven't had the URGE and now that I have I bet I do it for days........lol  I know why I have been avoiding going out..Kyle and memories of all the times together...I think I have to start to make NEW memories for myself...I stopped and had a lite beer in a restaurant and joined this older man for conversation and it dawned on me that life does go on even when the child moves out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just have to find new hobbies and things to do with myself that I enjoy!  RIGHT girls this is what you all have been telling me!

Bonnie: I will eat so I can still have a -500 deficit from my burn but bare in mind I am not nearly as active as you in the exercise dept......but am trying thanks!  for the incentive!!!!!!!!!!!

Off for yet another walk..........in the sun which is almost gone!Coolahhh maybe just sit on the patio!...Back is bitcxxxxxing!!!

You wonder why I miss the 70's!Tongue out....everything was better!, cheaper, affordable, purer, reachable, attainable, even the music made us smile!.............now it's depression, recession after recession does it ever end....wars.... one stops another starts, more floods, hurricanes, tornados, distruction, mudslides, global warming, ozone layer problems, and on and on, I am sure there is always something to bitxx about....and wars does anyone even know why they are fighting? With all this going on we should also be thankful for a few things, in our thirst for knowledge and the never ending progress we strive for I am a little concerned we are just fighting a lost cause I mean really they build cars-pollution, cell phones-cancer, send things into outer space-cut holes in the ozone, raised prices has made 2 working people in every family just to survive and now I see 2 or 3 families living in one home just to make ends meat.....income is going down, produce, rent and taxes are going up, we worry about weight, pollution, weapons control, there are more drugs, perscriptions to treat the so many new and different diseases now and you wonder why people are DEPRESSED!  There are more types of flus you can shake a stick at and they still don't have a cure for the common cold.......despite the overwhelming things I try and avoid listening to on the news because I am so sensitive to the alarming stories I hear, I can only bare to watch the news maybe once a week, but despite all this I manage to make it through everyday and make at least one person happy, short of that at least my kitties, find one good thing about this planet, whether it be a good deed, a smile, a slice of my usual bubbly personality, or a kind gesture, when all else fails at least I haven't killed anyone, robbed any bank, started any war, or hurt anyone....so ladies keep smiling, be thankful for our health (without that we have nothing, right?)be good to your family, pet your animal, take out your garbage, don't litter, and help your neighbour next time you see them! Innocent

I think you ALL are a wonderful group of people!Wink, and despite my odd seasonally crazy moment enjoy being on here with you all everyday!Smile

Laura: Yes unfortunately unemployment is everywhere even in Canada....they cut back hours, close companies and all i hear is the P.M. belching we are going to have more jobs..more jobs...what can you do......as to my cats and litter boxes, what is so bad about that, poop and scoop..they poop I scoop that's all there is takes 2 minutes you don't have to empty the whole box just the poop into a bag that I put down the chute, don't you have to clean up after your dog....? we have very strict laws here about people who don't clean up after there pets and because so many people let their cats out they have to have licenses now, if people don't pick up after there animals there is a hefty fine, well I don't have a license cuz my cats are indoors but if they were to get out and roam into someones garden well it wouldn't be prettySurprised$$

Now NIGHT TIME EATING: I tried an experiment last night I didn't eat all day til around 4:30pm thinking that if I started late and ate my normal day would take me through the difficult evening hours and I would be content in the evening and wouldn't be caloried out and be able to snack lightly.......didn't work I have come to the conclusion that the darkness/tv not being busy is just plain and simply boredom eating, not to mention the 20 food/diet commercials I counted...I know the solution would be simple but since that is not about to happen I am needing to find a filling substitute that is low calorie and doesn't leave me empty and always looking for something to eat!  IS THERE SUCH A FILLING FOOD?......I think my problem is I always use to eat till full...now I eat often but not alot at anyone time, so training my body to eat 6-7 times a day may NOT have been such a good idea...it seems I am always looking for something to eat, maybe the 2 meals and 2 snacks should have been enough! but bottom line on 1200 I am always hungry so I am going to raise it a little but since i am not exercising much will not be burning as much...at least I am going to try this for a week or so and see what happens maybe for the extra calories I eat I can get onto my SB...poor Buttons though everytime I ride it he runs into the bedroom under the bed?  He got hit by a pedal accidentally along time ago and now he's scared of it even from a distance!Frown

Another bla bla cloudy wet kinda day but doesn't bother me, I am going to be calling Kyle today woohoo! it's not summer so I could care less about the weather, the workmen came yesterday and carted away all the leaves so the green grass looks nice again...we haven't had any snow yet this must be a record and still fairly warm 7C* temps....but for you out there who can still do things outside have a wonderful day.!Laughing..hiking, golfing, shopping, biking, walking or whatever turns your crank!lol

BEBKiss.....hmm stay out of the fridge...maybe a pad lock...lol 'Fit and Healthy"

Bonnie: Onions eh...hmm interesting...I also believe garlic has like alot of medicinal purposes too oh and remember when we did that herbs topic last year basil and parsley are really good for us too!Wink....keep your trivia coming!Laughing

Coon cats you say Nancy I have a picture from one of them a white one it weighed an astonishing amount something like 60lbs or so aren't they..Surprised...woohoo

Margaret: Don't you believe in keeping strictly( indoor cats) at all with a litter box, here I would never let my cats out well 1st I am on the 3rd floor and 2nd the only cat I ever let out was Bandit and of course then I lived in Mississauga (20 miles just west of Toronto) but he was 7 yrs old then and only stayed in the open backyard as I too was near a busy road, he was exceptionally trained by me though never wandered off except for the one time for 4 days.....

Chris: Angel has long hair but Buttons is like a labrador really short hair no mess or fuss at all...right now they are going bezerk I have left the patio door open to air out my home from cooking a big batch of meatloaf for the weekend and the fresh air has drove them to fly!!!!!!!Winklol It is to bad your DH allergies prevent you from enjoying gods creatures in the future.FrownI heard of a case here that totally had me going crazy there was a family not sure from where they were torturing cats and dogs and raising their children to do it too, now no matter how much you pray these people are just plain sick and need to be locked up for a veryyyyyy long time!  It was in the news too!

I told you girls my mood would pass, if you all know me it all this happens to me every season change SAD they call it seasonal depression....and now I feel better no need to panic...just let me ride it like a surf wave and then I will be fine..at least this is what I have figured out finally.....

The house smells nice from the pinewood air wicks I bought for the stinky boys Frownor should I say kitten Sealedand of course my meatloaf I haven't cooked one in a long while...lotsw of green pepper, red pepper, green onion, garlic etc....yummy.........

NIGHT EATING : As to this eating at night problem I have figured I am going to try a new test and if it works i will pass it on, but for now it is only in the testing phase!Tongue outWinkSealedInnocent

Laura: How is your biking coming along?, doing any interesting trails at all!??WinkYour v8 sounds inticing! Yummy and 0 sodium to eh? Glad you enjoyed yoga! For years i have wanted one a juicer or food processor never got one!  Always seems to be something else that takes priority....ahh

Today is sunny and I went out and did some errands picked up meds, groceries etc and did a little brisk walking, came home andCool did my batch cooking...I hope everyone has a beautiful weekend..Alice are you hiking this weekend or not quite ready yet for that with your knee!  My mountain here is not quite like your mountains there eh..I am talking maybe 5-6000ft up not miles eh, but it is beautiful the views with all the blue lakes all around, jumping fish and chipmunks, squirrels, many many wild birds and animals that I guess you don't see to much of there being more desert like eh? We are so similar to New England, Conneticut in its appealing calling of loons, and brooks whisking throughout the countryside ah I can hardly wait for spring again...lolWink

Now have a nice weekend girls, watch what you eat, and reach for veggies or fruits not cakes girls!!!!!!!!!SealedI still like my low-cal brownie mixed with my homemade 20 cal jello no sugar in any of it..0 sodium and low fat and cholesterol it gets a B+ rating that takes care of my sweet tooth and has for weeks so I don't know what kooky Bex is talking about!lol

No Bex you are wrong in biking I am leaning over bars, it is the only position that does not seem to bother me where as sitting and standing do after only about 30 minutes...i take strong mes most places would not let me in anyway and as for the cake.......NO you go and eat it if you want...I am not cheating I am just going at my own pace...understand! Geeze sometimes you can be so mean woman!Yelland not very tolerant it seems....hmmm..... I don't understand why those tenths of a pound are so important girls..come on isn't that obsessing just a bit..a lb is a lb is a lb i would not even mention those tenths...go for a pee and there ......your tenths are gone ..goodness gracious??? lol

Laura: It's nice to buy nice things, makes us feel goodSmile, I don't even own a cocktail dress..lol I do have a couple dresses but not one like that I told myself when I get to 140+lbs I wanted to get a dark coloured dress with a nice long slit up the side to show my asset (my legs)Wink......and let the men drool over me when I strut by, of course the opportunity to wear it oh I am sure I will think of something when the time comes...woohoo! Who is 'my girl'? you say that alot?

Leona Lewis the singer I really like her music 1st she sang 'Bleeding Love' and now the song i really relate to is "Happy" anyone esle heard and/or like it?

Laura: Just to clear up your misunderstanding of what I meant about Kyle he doesn't have wrinkles, it is the fact he raises his eyebrows and that's why it looks that way, this is what I would mention to him to smile....not to grin look in the mirror and raise your eyebrows you'll see what I mean....okay I must have worded it wrong...hehehe don't want anyone to misunderstand what I mean which happens so often on the net...eh?Wink

As for TBL I agree with you but I still hope that Shay gets second prize and gets to 160+ lbs I wonder what her height is and she looks like she is heavy boned too so maybe 170 would suit her if I am 5'8 and medium build with NO hips my recommended weight is 140-162lbs so she must be around 160lb I would think....ever since my shower today I am feeling better..hmm maybe this little pisces just needed to get into the water....I should buy some nice bath salts for myself for xmas in blue colors..hmmmm..night off to watch my shows!Wink

Bonnie: I am not sad so how can I be depressed I am just fad up with my daily routine so for the moment I am just going to watch what I eat like Chris and try not to gain anything maybe even keep slightly under in cals...then maybe one day "I will get my mojo back" until then I am still here doing whatever i do! lol

Kyle I posted his new school picture! in my gallery..17 going on 18...He is maturing, I can't help it I just want to hug him to death, he looks so good there except for the slouching and perhaps raising the eyebrows causing wrinkles but he has no pimples from eating no junk food, I must tell him to be careful when shaving that 1 eyebrow not to take so much off...lolWink

Laura: Thanks so very much for that link to Shay!Innocent, i learned a couple interesting things from that, and I think she or Daniel will be a shoe in for second prize with all that weight they have to lose, the fact that 6 trainers are pushing her to the limit I suspect she may be the victor here, isn't it great so many people care....oh I am so proud of her! That bike or whatever they called it she was riding was neat eh!  Looks like fun is this something for heavier people?

That darn Rudy on TBL is such a snake..grr...all he can think about is the $$ that's what his strategy is but what bugs me is all the people he is stabbing in the back to get there...what good is $$ if your integrity is in question...how many people will cheer for someone like that versus Shay or Daniel?  Men? He must have taken lesons from Tracey..hehe He is one I now want to see get booted off.....and Allen is not even seeing that -5 lbs lost was a good thing he is so hung up on winning too.....sheesh!UndecidedI liked most of the new styles but why do they always want to cut everything off?  Every show I watch chop..chop!

Bonnie: Aren't you suppose to rest the muscles the day after a workout?  For rejuvenation etc?  Adon't overdo it girl!

Hair: I wash, style for a few minutes and then hairspray....I too girls want to get a hair makeover but I am waiting till spring and it grows out some more whichever comes first and then I thought what a nice reward for when I get to 140+ so I am biding my time, seeing how I have been wearing my hair the same since I was 20 I guess an update will be nice and it is getting to long now, want it just below the shoulders not down my back and although it will be the similar style it wil be layered and feathered all over not just the top and sides...so i am patiently waiting for me to get my ass in gear!

My back has been bothering me alot lately so I haven't been doing diddly, and now I am off to make it worse by doing laundry...so talk to you all later girls, have another nice day..I can't beleive this nice sunny warm weather!Cool

To everyone I missed have a nice day!..BEBKiss

Does anyone know a site to find what shay looks like now on TBL?

What is muesli...you say jello is processed...okay maybe I am confused but processed food is what exactly, foods that have had things added to it, like salt etc??  to be able to give it a longer shelf life like cereals, sandwich meats etc....so what do I eat then?...

I seem to be eating such bad things how about if you girls post on here some sample menus of what types of things you all are eating daily, maybe each of you could post 1 menu a day or week for me to give me alternative ideas, now I am not talking about meat meals but the in between meal ideas is where i seem to have trouble and lunches?..it could very well give me some healthier options instead of reaching always for the bad stuff in the evenings etc??

Margaret I read an article that suggests to stay away from frozen dinners, take a look at the salt, fat factors, I know I never buy anything without reading the labels now, especially tinned products!  Even some foods that say lite or low fat aren't really that low, so you have to be careful!

Processed foods that may not be as healthy as fresh foods include:

  • canned foods with lots of sodium
  • white breads and pastas made with refined white flour, which are not as healthy as those made with whole grains
  • packaged high-calorie snack foods, like chips and cheese snacks
  • high-fat convenience foods, like cans of ravioli
  • frozen fish sticks and frozen dinners
  • packaged cakes and cookies
  • boxed meal mixes
  • sugary breakfast cereals
  • processed meats
  • we also have frozen vegetables, but these are actually healthy for us.

Chris: Your little crumb it was on your foot not the ground.....and it really does depend where it lands onto if on a horse dropping I can't see anyone counting to 5 ..Laughinglol..hehehe

Processed foods hmmm okay like pkged foods like sandwich meats and cheeses....canned soups etc like that right?..what other processed foods are we talking about then that we should we avoid ???????  I know that show Xweighed he always throws out things like mayo but the little i use is lite miracle whip and only 30 cals per Tbsp what else?

Boy I am crushed yesterday I thought I was doing so well peppers mixed with small shrimps until I fanned my mouse (don't have a mouse) hand over the date on analysis..did any of yo know you can do that it gives you your VitC, calcium, pottasium etc....levels anyway I went into analysis and my total for the day was like 600g of cholesterol????..SurprisedSurprisedHELLO??SurprisedNow I know why I don't eat much fish?? Is there any food that doesn't have a negative impact?

Beef - fat

Fish - cholesterol.....tinned tuna have to buy low sodium for more $$

pork - fat - cholesterol

cereals & breads - high sodium

I mean moderation is soooo true here, doesn't matter what I eat if I want protein then I have to give up something else, if I want Vitamins then something else always suffers.....I wish sometimes I had a nutritionist planning out my meals for the whole week.

Even my cereals I love ..have a fair amount of sodium ever for cereal

Is there anything we can eat daily that has only benefits and no draw backs?

TODAYS CHALLENGE: Name foods that only have benefits, no sodium, no cholesterol, no fat, no sugar??  Can you do it anyone??

Girls: Geez all this talk about germs flying around has me hiding now..Sealed..I do not have OCD but I could not handle sitting around with people who are carelessly spreading there cold germs all over me?  When I go out I tend to stay away from sneezing sick people, maybe that's why I don't get sick anymore?  I mean Feb07 I really thought I was dying I lost 20lbs in 3 weeks, I was bed ridden, didn't hardly eat and when I did get back on my feet over a month later I was so weak I could barely climb up the stairs from checking the mail...now that was a cough/flu I had, practically coughed up a lung or 2 I never want to be that sick again.  All I kept thinking was that if I was 80 years old then it would have probably killed me...I went through 6 bottles of cough medicine to boot, Kyle was bringing me soup and toast that's all I could even eat.........so yea I don't want people carelessly coughing/sneezing all over me cuz I end up paying....make sense, self preservation is a STRONG thing!  I don't get sick very often but when I get sick I GET SICK!!  Know what I mean??

For you ladies that don't care about spreading germs..Surprised..shame on you!...people like you are what gives things like the H1N1 it's channeling strength!  If everyone was as careful as me we wouldn't have so many sick people all the time..think about that the next time you sneeze into the air! and not into a tissue...............rant over! I am not pointing any individual finger here so don't anyone take offense please!  Just a general comment outloud!

Anyway onto something more pleasant!Wink...I am getting lazy.Surprised.lol..... haven't ridden my SB in days, or lifted dumbbells I think I am in a rut I can't find the reasoning anymore..the sun is shining and can't be bothered to go out.....okay pity rant over......grrrr My weight is holding at 171....

Hey I guess Carols daughter should be ready in about 1 month time to deliver the baby girl eh?? Haha  well I said what 7lb 14oz.. my weight...hehe

Well off to play with the kitties...have another nice sunny dayCool wherever you are..they say this weather is gonna last a few more days and are also talking a mild winter up here...yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! woohoo!  This time last year we had 20cm of snow to shovel hehehe remember some of you from northern Penn. area,or New York, Buffalo, New England area?.....BEBKiss...'thin is in'!

Alice: InnocentDon't forget it is important to take breaks between all those workouts for that reason to give your legs opportunity to recover....hey don't kick me to hard about going out on Saturday evening, it was a small yorkshire, and only 2 little donuts.... remember I am the one who NEVER goes out.Surprised...I did dance and walk too eh...so for me to say I went out and actually did something I do not feel bad at all..Wink..the last time I went out was in the early summer!  Now Sunday and from now till my xmas log I am being sensible I just made a new pepper/shrimp dish today and am going to enjoy the high protein low calorie count!..Later girls!

Boy another sunny day! woohoo! Cool  This is the weather I wanted all summer instead of so much rain that I got this year again...oh well.

Nancy: Here is that simple animated site I use, best thing I find is at least 2 or 3x weekly i do 3 of these arm exercises for the triceps and a couple for biceps okay http://www.sport-fitness-advisor.com/dumbbell exercises.html just fan down the page to triceps or ones you like..I actually printed out the ones I liked until I memorized them...enjoy and remember 10 x and 3 sets get some dumbbels of varying weights start with 2lb, 5lb, 8lb, 15lbs etc i am up to the 15lbs just make sure to take it easy at first..and when you get to 10 it should be an effort otherwise you'll end of doing more reps...enjoy!

Ohio: I have to agree with Alice here you have not had to much luck with losing so it could very well be what you are logging as 'activity' since just living burns calories I would not on 'sedentary' be entering sitting in a chair, or driving or any regular household chores either...only log the extra things like biking, hiking, walking okay because those are actually burning extra calories then just breathing remember if it doesn't raise your BP i wouldn't log it!  Maybe this will change your real burning specs and then you can adjust your cals in/out and get a truer reading of just what you really are burning and then adjust your activity to something that is really burning those cals eh?!!WinkI think this will help you...I mean I remember back in school they always said washing dishes may burn calories but if it is something you are doing everyday it just doesn't and anyway it would be better to log less and end up losing more then logging more burn and actually burning less...hope this helps you!

Margaret: I am glad you didn't go, I was down at the lake on Friday and I was thinking of you....the ocean will always be there..take some pics will you! for us to see! Please!Laughing

I think somewhere we got off the track though girls..we should all be as fit as Bonnie she sets a high bar eh!  LOL..... I know all about limitations like Nancy being on disability DOES make it harder to lose......My old friend Mike came over on Saturday I ended up going out for a light dinner yorkshire pudding stuffed with chicken at the 'Bull N Barrel' pub and then I went dancing at 55 special bar next door...now that's burning calories..woohoo but I suppose the few peach schnapps I had downed that counts out any big calorie loss, oh well I went for a nice walk after and then had a tim hortons donut..oopsEmbarassed

FTF: I am so sorry you are sickly...I know for me the sun always seems to cheer me up and make me feel a little better! Hope you are taking 1000mg of vitamin C daily...i do that's why I rarely ever get sick....in fact touch WOOD haven;t been sick since Feb07 with that nasty flu...speedy recovery my love!Innocent

EDIT: No ftf i am here, typing at same time and Hope that storm didn't hurt anyone on here!

I was talking with Jill and she is doing okay..it has been difficult getting around or doing much of anything without a hip at the moment but she has the wheelchair and new walker with wheels to get around...but has stalled on the obvious weight loss her grandson and stray kittens are keeping her from total boredom...so if anyone wants to get in touch just thought i'd let you know shes hanging in there!  Poor woman having to wait till January just to get a hip eh?

I was in my mid-30's when I started gaining weight for me it wasn't lack of exercise cause I got alot of it for me it was overeating all the time especially at night...I mean 3 sandwiches at lunch...?  what was I thinking most times I never really gained but over a period of a year 10 lbs is 10lbs right?  I was always so very active and with Kyle being little we were always outside riding our bikes, I was always chopping wood, or gardening too so I never noticed that subtle weight gain....now I have to watch everything so carefully but I will get there if I would only stop falling off the track..lol

Have a good day everyone.....TBL is on tomorrow!....

BEBKisshello to anyone I missed..and remember think THIN!! Oh by the way I discovered Buttons is really shy with strangers coming in when Mike came over Buttons would not come out from under the bed....poor little guy...lol but he did when Willa comes...oh well!  that's a 1st!

Morning another sunny day here and arm boy I could live with these temps all winter...woohoo so unusual for this time of year, but this kinda was my prediction this year since we had such a late opening of al the seasons I did think it would be a late winter...honest!Wink

What is is about everyone I know having bad knees..what causes it in so many young people I don't get it....mine are nromally fine al the althletics and biking/hiking I did all my life why aren't they bothering me...or is that just around the corner for me too?

Nancy: Hey another Nancy...welcome!... I empathize with your problem, and losing the same weight over and over I have just lost 4lbs I regained since the summer...my advice get a scale, and log all foods, not being able to burn off non burning foods is tricky....do the testing of your calorie burn and everything on here..set yourself up as sedentary and see how many calories you need to survive everyday..then subtract at least -500 from that leaving a deficit and you should be able to lose 1lb a week...if your arms are not a problem use dumbbells there are some good exercises I use and can give you the website with little animated characters to help with the building up the under arms and other arm areas just ask!Laughing....ask your doctor what exercises if any you can do?  Where do you live Nancy and tell us a little about yourself? Welcome!

Ohio: those were some good ideas you suggested to Bex!  That chair gave me an "all in the family moment" with Archie...I stil see those reruns every once in a while!  Were the 70's just the best!

Bex: I am not sure what I am getting KYle, I had all these great ideas but I think money will be the factor I have 1 more visa pmt then I only have 1 month to save..I suppose since he is getting a play station 2 from his dad maybe some games....clothes...a little pocket money....I am going to be making him a photo album but I still have to go out and buy one of them to display pics for him pics from his baby pics all the way up..their are a lot of pics and then I want to label them proplerly too...something he can cherish long after I am gone...you know...!  All of a sudden I feel old.  Oh and Alice isn't the only one with energy my sweet Bex if it wasn't for my back holding me back I would be doing the same things her and Helene are doing...does make me feel a little bad that of all the things that screwed up had to be my back...I quess better then knees though from what I am hearing! Hey you called me Lee that's a 1st...hehe..tell me is Bex your nickname for something?

Alice: I really do have your energy lol ...which is why it is so hard to 'restrain myself'...maybe that's why I eat...If you get any cravings to come to Canadas eastern side for a retirement trip you had better look in on me we can go and climb my mountain up north of here around Algonquin park! as long as I have my pills lol...and the gorgeous fresh water Blue lakes are to die for with there endless beauty, luscious trees, and fresh crisp smells of nature are some of the nicest views in the world as some of my pics have shown throughout the year....are you sold yet?.....do you like canoeing at all? Or sliding down rock waterfalls?WinkHow about camping, boating or fishing?  Since you are desert people I guess the concept of fresh water sounds appealing..yes?  I have mentioned my friend Denise from Pennsylvania her and I did the Algonquin trip circuit once in the 70's what a blast we had we still talk about it to today!  Anyway just thought I's share that....how was your sons BD what did you end up doing or buying him?

Well hope everyone is having a nice weekend and enjoying whatever you are doing..smells of autumn are so persistent in the air right now I just feel like jumping in leaves or burning themWinkthose luscious musky smells of dried up leaves, the crispness of the morning air, frost on the windowpanes..people are scarce outside even the children aren't flocked outside like when Kyle was here...I sure have seen a change since he moved out there is almost a void an emtpiness outside without him...the kids don't have the determined little fellow drawing them outside anymore whether it was raining, snowing or hailing didn't stop Kyle from going out, on that count how very much he is like his mum!  Ahhhh I miss him so much!Frownand then there's xmas Surprisedyikes...can I come over to your place Alice or Chris?..Well off to finish downloading some songs for my friend Hattie..chow Oh Hattie is a DJ for a club and being one of my oldest friends thought I would surprise her with 2 cd's of club music..bye for now

Chatty cathy..lol..........BEBKissoh remember think 'THIN'...LOL

Bonnie: Have a great time shopping with your daughters!!

Chris: I don't know what to say about a difficult 16 year old girl, other then reverse-physcology it use to work with Kyle...if they think something is their idea they are more inclined to do it...just a thought!

Bex: Eyes failing..hmm...audio books have no idea does she have a computer?  Before you say no alot of elderly people do....I was wondering if you buy her a mp3 player she can use the USB port to download her choices onto her mp3.

Speaking of eyes failing where do you buy those magnified with lights table gadgets that you look through to enlarge items and there is a light attached you see CSI using them all the time on small items etc??

I have been using limewire to great success and have it all backed up up onto the 8GB memory stick for safe keeping.....what do you give an 80 year old how about a cruise!.Wink..lol ......Or a nice big book with pictures of various places around the world that would be entertaining and she could go somewhere without leaving home! Maybe on a safari!...lol

Chris: Well i was just curious as everyone else....don't get your shorts in a knot...lolInnocentDid you not like my xmas idea with your SD? Or just having a bad day at the office?....?

Bonnie: Are you sore from the pilates?

Chris: What did the scale say??  TELLLLLL!Innocent

Margaret: Still out there?

1000 calories today and am contentedly full.  I am content ....now to get through the evening,  Yesterday was a maintenance not deficit bust..it is getting increasingly harder now with the sun going down early it is playing mind games on my stomach!  Of course I know my stomach can't see but tell it that!..hehehe..

FTF: Ha ha thanks for the cute mental picture....You said it will be Buttons 1st xmas I can just imagine the first day after the tree is decorted all the bulbs all over the house!  He will probably eat tinsel too!SurprisedLast year I pulled some tinsel out of Angels rear-end from eating itSurprisedEmbarassed

I just lost Buttons, I heard him crying, then I couldn't find him...panicked and going from room to room calling his name..Angel who usually goes on the hunt was doing the room to room search with me....after I am crying his name endlessly he finally comes out from wherever he was...thing is I checked everywhere and didn't know where he was....now I still don't know where he was hiding....kids?Wink

Oh good news it will only cost $50.00 to get Buttons fixed by the SPCA here on Jan7th I only hope I can keep his legs closed that long he is already trying to hump me...men!SurprisedI wonder if there is a deterent!  Angel has his tail in the air last night it looked weird for him to be lying like that I hope he WASN'T trying to invite Buttons?FrownSurprisednow that could get interesting?Surprised

Chris: Beautiful sunsets I find at this time of year!....and no there is no oiling needed on my SB I have just started using it daily again...I don't want to lose the muscles from lack of use..and it burns calories right?  No I am not eating junk food, and today I am cooking a pot roast with winter squash and whipped potatoes that should last me the whole weekend...haven't had a roast since Kyle moved out!  Undecided

Bonnie: Good that you are trying something different the 'torture pilates' hehe...it may be just what your waistline needs, I see commercials with that lady in the burgundy doing them on tv all the time...I have to try it sometime when I am thinking of it! When you mentioned body sculpting a few weeks ago I thought you were talking about actually making out of clay or something, don't know what I was thinking...silly me...didn't realize it is a form of exercise...lolEmbarassed

Have fun on your shopping spreeLaughing!!... and your Italian dinner out afterwards...I bet you'll do well and get it all done in one day!....I don't go out much but when you get into the mall and hear that xmas music and see people smiling with christmas cheer it is so easy to get into the spirit of it...I am waiting for some snow to get me to that point! Then I will spend the whole day, with back breaks of course and do it...like I only have 1 person to shop for well 2 if I buy myself something...I want a digital camera! and some new sports bras!..lol

So girls: What is everone doing for xmas this year now that we have tantilized everyones christmas spirit and dangled the idea in front of all your noses like a carrot to a horse...lol Soon we all have to start getting out the decorations and buying or putting up trees..I may buy a small one but I am thinking of Buttons I have this 7ft maybe I should maybe I shouldn't...let him have the experience so many before him have had...Angel and Bandit that is?

Oh and Chris: Remember last year you were the last one to get your tree decorated eh....?  ahem...Innocent  Get your SD together with you to do it this year that would be a very good 'family experience  to share' with her together right?..WinkInnocent

Boy all this talk has me getting in the mood...almost ...but the warm sunny weather makes it hard for me to think of xmas just yet...I mean weather here is so much like New England and New Hampshire right! and Penn....!Cool

Well off to take a shower, my pot roast I always add a bundle of my grandmas recipe of herbs wrapped in a cheesecloth for that extra pickley scent and taste!...hmmm yummy...

what a treat..bye for now...BEBKisswho wants to go to church this xmas!!

Helene: Not all of us are traveling....I will be staying home alone this xmas with Angel and my new kitten Buttons.  Picture of him in my gallery!  He is so affectionate just what I need now that Kyle is gone the little guy sure fills that void.

I had to look up gnus i had never heard of that before...interestingly in alot of those animated movies or Afican safari type movies I see them all the time....now i know...learn something new everyday and now that I have i will bet you anything that within the next 24 hours I will turn the station on tv and there will be a gnus staring at me..any takers on that BET?

You really should write a book Helene I don't know what you'd call it but your adventures sure sound like alot of fun...I would love to have been in that plane with you when you went in 2002...I could just see the rolls of film I would having been spewing out...lol..i just love animals in nature like that....when I was young I always wanted to go on a safari...unfortunately I never did...I wonder if they still do that sort of thing anymore?  I know that next year I plan to do something exciting with my life, some trip or adventure...there is a possibility some of my singles club may rent a houseboat for a few days.....if that doesn't pan out I would like to travel someplace new maybe  but I will need to save for that....1 more really nice trip for me just not sure where!  I may rent a car and visit Kyle and travel around Ontario but I sure would like to do that with someone, more fun then being alone!  Anyway lovely pics Helene....you should put that 'southeastern' one up on for your icon for awhile!...HINT HINT...lol

I always thought throughout my life I would come across a gem mine...never did...but boy wouldn't it be something to be swimming in birthstones...hehe

FTF: Yes after i wrote that I realized positivity is the way to treat that, you can get swallowed up by the drama on the show sometimes can't ya!..lolWinkI am going to miss Shay and Daniel and I miss Abby but there are how many left so what 3-4 more weeks and that's it eh?  Well I guess I will have to route for Danny now the musician...lolLaughing

I use to be such a positive person I find I am getting cynical in my old age...have to nip that in the butt!

Xmas is 6 weeks away..Surpriseddon't know if I am putting up the tree, maybe for Buttons but I can just see it now, bulbs everywhere Surprisedand I am sure to be picking the tree up every morning after he is done with it maybe I should just save myself the trouble and get a smaller one this year like 2 feet tall instead of the 7ft I have..it always seems every year it creeps up on us so fast.!...the thing is I think that we associate xmas with snow..well I DO and it's hard to get into the mood of xmas when I see green grass and have such warm temps. as of late...I always get into the mood when I see snow outside and if in a mall hear xmas music playing.....won't be the same anyhow without Kyle...Brian says he is getting him a play station 2 with games...I suggested a WII so he can play his game cube games but he says he can pay less for the other way, so I am staying out of that one!....I wil call Kyle later and chat up some ideas....later girls!

Glam: I was under the impression we already were a group...Winkhehehe...lol

Helene: Boy it is so nice to have you back, your pictures were lovely, Laughingand I have to say the breakfast southeastern view is absolutely gorgeous the way the mountains curl in on you!  Hows Dummy doing?, sounds like he is in paradise...how cold do your winters usually get.......here we get our normal -5, -10 occasional -20 C temps. Have you had much time to train for yur climb in Dec?

Margaret: Sounds like a rewarding career!  .....One thing I do that I find helps me drink more water or whatever is I take those 2 cup water bottles (which I pour my iced tea in) and put them inside those 3.5 hour beer coolers to stay chilled..that way your water stays cold..for 3.5 hours really....if you are near a freezer you can stock 3-4 of them and what I  do is about every 3 hours I change to a new cold one and put the warm gel cooler in the freezer.to refreeze...works for me....and I do this everyday! Of course I don't think we get as dehydrated as we do in summer so we do have to force ourselves more.

Bonnie: Isn't this 'Indian summer' great for November!

FTF: Yes they didn't show Shay losing at the end of the show...bummer but you say she lost another 50lbs that's good only 150 to go eh? Does Jay Leno always have the losers on his show?  Did Shay say anything about Rudy?

TBL: I was so ticked they sent home Shay on The biggest loser, she needed to be there more then Amanda...I think she was the biggest threat cause she would have been a shoe in to reach the most lost weight on the show and Rudy new this....he did make a deal with her and then renegged did you see that during that hoop game?

I really really like Jillian and you can tell she has a big heart, and her motives for Shay were so sincere......when she finds out that Shay is gone I bet she will be upset!  Liz can go next there aren't to many left I like!  Poor Danny too those were my 2 favorites outside of Abby and now they are gone...Frown..I bet one of them wins the $50.000 second prize!

Called my dad today as this is our 'Remberence Day', downtown here they always have a parade and the mayor and all the important members of city parliament and the founders of our various orgs. in our community put wreaths arond the monument at "Fred Grant sqaure' in memory of men and woman who served!and give speeches, today I will watch it on tv and I have been sneezing and don't want to be around anyone...I don't want to get sick that's why I have been staying in alot of sick people around!...MY FATHER drove the ambulance truck in Europe England during WW2 and he spent many a bombing in ditches!....well must run show is on now..

Have I missed anyone...boy I am sneezing alot today oh oh?Frown

Have a good day everyone....and sensible eating tonight girls!Wink

Alice: Happy birthday to your son today!!Laughing  Whats his name?  I use to buy serious cards, now I get humor with a serious note on the botton!!  Mine will be 18 in April19th...they grow so fast...and I know what you mean the more we buy them the more they want eh?  I was scared when I took Buttons to the vet with fleas she put that advantage 9 on his neck but some must have dripped into his mouth cuz he went balistic which in turn freaked me out.SurprisedButtons he is like a labrador short hair and silky..but now when I use it it I find it's really simple...just spread the hair away from the back of their neck and pour it on....Angel is a furry long hair so it really only does take a second....as for the problems nail clipping I am going to do as Marg suggested and buy that cone thing cause he is like pepper a little difficult at times!Wink

I have to say I have been very sad about poor Buttons Frownhe just wants to play with Angel and Angel has been really mean with him at least twice a day lately, he knows it too when I tell him that "that wasn't nice" or "don't been so mean" he walks away with his head down...so he knows!

Sam: The birdhouse idea sounds great....I so wanted Grandad and Kyle to do that but he never went down there, and with dad the way he is I wouldn't now anyway! You drink lots of water ....I drink it in my homemade sugarless green/black iced tea!

Chris: That pie loks like it is loading with sugar, substitute with splenda that's what I do so I can have my brownie/raspberry jello/dream whip treat daily again for 150 calories can't complain and low fat/sugar too!

Bonnie: Tape TBL tonight before you go out! Don't forget!

Went shopping for groceries with Willa...i bought apples and a roast...haven't had that in a long time thought I would cook that later in the week a pot roast with carrots, peppers veggies etc...I also bought some chow mein to do a stir fry i think for something different and lettuce for salads which I also haven't been eating lately either....

I have been eating simple things like tuna sandwiches, cereals and adding my protein to that and of course if I eat my splenda low calorie brownie mixed in with my raspberry jello and dream whip then i don't crave chocolates....bottom line whatever works for us...right!  Anyway there this gets a B- rating so that's pretty good!

Looking forward to TBL tonight.....and 'so u think you can dance' I also have to tape dancing with the stars since they put all this shows on around the same time they overlap one another...loL

Has anyone else noticed the seasons seem to run back to back now, when we were younger a season was like once per year and then reruns the rest...now it's one show is over and a brand new one starts no reruns...unless on another channel....like here CTV and global is Toronto which is where all these shows are showing on!  But I guess depends what area you live in and what channels you get right?

Well off to plan my menu for tomorrow...hmmmm peppers and chow mein and???

BEBKisswho smelt a bomfire in the air today what a great memory.Wink..hmmm
