| Motivation | Anyone else 5'8? What's your goal weight? | Oct 24 2009 21:46 (UTC) |

im 5'8, 21 yoa at about 120-125, trying to lose around 5 lbs/tone up. exercising, watching the booze. i have a very small frame and weight only seems to settle on my thighs so a few extra lbs are noticable and change my clothing size. its interesting to see all of these different goals. your frame size really makes a difference in finding your comfort weight. |

do you have a friend you could borrow a couple pairs of jeans from? tops seem to be workable but pants falling off your ass is harder : ) i would definitely hit up your friends. girls are always sharing clothes and especially if its only for a couple weeks - then youll need to find someone else! |

that is so true, im being a selfish brat. ill handle it when i have access to a gym once again. it is just too damn cold to go running for my taste... and dangerous (think mopeds going down the sides walks, buses and crazy parisian cab drivers..) paris is a beautiful, exciting place. i really recommend the study abroad experience, it opens up your mind to the way that other cultures function and i find that its making me a stronger person to deal with lifes blunders w/o my usual support system (fam and close friends) good luck with your adventures to follow! |

| Health & Support | 30 lb weight loss and now can't seem to quit eating | Nov 17 2008 09:15 (UTC) |

i would assume you're gaining weight because 106 is far to low for your body to maintain. if you're going to try and stay on the low end you'll still have to boost your weight some. 106 is not your natural weight so there is no way you can maintain it eating a healthy amount. and staving is no way to live so just keep working out and eating healthy and you will look infinitely more fabulous and feel way better than at 106 |

| Young Calorie Counters | 10-15 lbs to lose, anyone can join :) | Sep 01 2008 23:56 (UTC) |

Hey joining a little late but would really like to take part. Put on some weight over the summer due to a lot of overindulging... currently somewhere around 115-120. Would like to get down to 110-112 range. This was my weight at the beginning of the summer and unfortunately everything seems to have gone to my ass... I will be attempting to eat healthier while I'm overseas, living in Paris. Would like to reach this goal by October 15 at 1-2lbs per week. |

| Foods | Fat Free, Sugar Free Soft Serve | Jul 28 2008 07:13 (UTC) |

hey i think i can answer this question for you. i worked in a soft serve shop for years. the fat free sugar free stuff had about 90 calories a serving which is 4 oz or a half a cup. most places use an 8 oz cup for a small so it can be anywhere from a 6 oz to an 8 oz serving for a small ( 130 - 180 cals). if its a small cone, the serving is probably somewhere between 6 and 8 oz of ice cream as well. just dump it into a cup next time and figure out how many oz they are giving you. hope that helps |

| Young Calorie Counters | anyone here a signed model??? | May 11 2008 15:53 (UTC) |

yes obviously its about how well you photograph more so than anything. but at any point agencies are looking for a specific "look" - which right now happens to be a thinner frame. i love to exercise outdoors -- bike riding walking frisbee you get the gist and im starting to try yoga and pilates. im just wondering if theres anyone out there that is doing this for a living, what sort of exercises they do to acheive that figure because im not too big a fan of gym cardio and weights... im not gonna run unless someones chasing me lol |

| Weight Gain | weird question | Apr 28 2008 20:46 (UTC) |

ive felt something similar to this... for me its kind of a light headed feeling that attacks out of nowhere. but no matter how much i eat at the moment it hits i cant get it to go away. i know that personally i have very low blood sugar/pressure which can zap my energy like no other until ive restored it. sounds like everyone is right with the faster metabolism. try to eat alot more frequently, its not going to stop unless you nourish yourself properly and very regularly. and just on a side note... had you taken any over the counter meds recently? nyquil gives me that feeling too all the way into the next day too... |

whats up with all the hatred!! some people are naturallllly smaller than others! i don't go into forums and say what a pity you are all so disgustingly overweight - its rude and ignorant. you can't assume anyone thin has an eating disorder. personally, i eat a ton of healthy food and get regular exercise. i would have to work very hard to put on ten pounds. |

| O my you are eating WAYYYY too much protien right now. Women that have finished growing 18 - 50 need about 40 - 45 grams of protein a day. Sounds like you are eating double that. You will have no trouble making the switch! | |||
| Young Calorie Counters | my calorie count to lose weight just dropped 100 cals... yikes | Jan 24 2008 21:27 (UTC) |

| Eat more low cal veggies! They will fill you up. I would recommend celery, cauliflower, broccoli and spinach. Do you like spicy food? Try cooking a vegetarian indian dish. The spicy rich sauces + veggies will fill you up and keep you slim. Also try a half a cup (dry) of plain instant oatmeal topped with 1/3 of banana and cinnamon for breakfast. It doubles when it cooks and is under 200 cals. | |||
| Weight Loss | Full and satisfied but under calories? | Jan 24 2008 20:54 (UTC) |
|
I wouldn't worry so much - it doesn't look like your calorie count is accurate based on the descriptions of what your eating and the calories youre listing. For instance, dinner you have 200 cals but 4 oz chicken is 120 -150 cals, 2 zucchinis are about 70 -100 cals, and 2 tomatos 45 cals |

| Hey I went through the same thing my freshman year. What you need to do is pick and choose. Of the nights that you go out, let one and no more be a heavy drinking night. Really you shouldn't do that every week either. The other nights drink at much more moderation. Stay away from shots and mixed drinkks!!! High cals and you can drink much more than you intended. Stick to beer and wine. Trust me, the less you start drinking the lower your tolerance, and youre weight will get. | |||

| Maintaining | why is it bad to be under 18.5BMI? | Dec 26 2007 02:11 (UTC) |
4 |
I agree, if I'm eating healthy and excercising its impossible for me to get in the "healthy range", above 18.5. Still have a fast metabolism. But I was wondering, does anyone know what the BMI mark off point is for an ED or unhealthy/problem area? I'm kind of health nut and I've been trying to loosing weight lately... I haven't been eating anymore than just fills me up, which doesn't take much + I'm vegan who exercises a lot. I don't think that I look too skinny or anything, in fact I could stand to loose a few more but I don't want to be at risk for health problems because I'm naturally small to begin with. Anyone else out there walking this fine line? |

| I just got a cook book, the garden of vegan which is awesome! IT has a million baked good recipies if thats your biggest problem. What specific items are you having trouble with? There are all kinds of egg replacers, and you can always use soy milk in a recipe that requires milk. For baking you can use ener g egg replacers, a banana, soft/silken tofu, yeast etc. If you are worried about something specific ill be happy to look it up for you, just message me. | |||
| Young Calorie Counters | Legs? | Dec 26 2007 01:03 (UTC) |
|
| the accurate way to take measure would be your "hip" as in the clothing measurement, which means the fullest part of your butt. For me personally though I'm more concerned with the fullest part of my thigh which is lower than my butt. Also you will be better off measuring around both thighs, (or butt). THis way you can determine what the measurement means in terms of clothing size, if you want to figure out what "average" is. For supermodels, haha, average is a 34 inch hip. But that basically means no butt. I'd say a fit young woman is probably between 36 - 38, but thats my own speculation. If you want any good thigh toning exercises, just message me, as this is my trouble spot too. | |||

Jezz, over 1800 cals?? thats a ton. I'm on the taller end and when I was eating/drinking around 1800-2000 I gained weight quickly. I feel like all of those estimates apply to boys better than girls because we've already stopped growing ages ago. |
