kathleen - you went to Ireland?!?! I went from August 7-21! It was the most amazing experience!!!

Doing alright today ladies. I have journaled everything so far at least. And my goal is to at least go for a walk tonight around the subdivision where I live now! (I moved 2 weeks ago!)

Hi Ladies.

I haven't been making positive choices for my health recently. (And by recently I mean the last several months.) I am so excited for all of you that are doing so well! I haven't had time to read a whole lot, but from the last two pages it sounds like you have been doing great!

My goal this week is to journal everything I eat. The idea is also to workout as well. But I may have to take small steps to get back into everything again. I feel like I'm starting from square 1 all over again. 

I'm hoping to be signing on here a lot more often and at least journaling my food and how I'm doing daily. So...it's good to be back!

hey ladies!

boots - yay for veganism!! If you ever want to change it up, i can post some stuff too. i have a really great recipe for a poppy seed dressing that's great on a salad with lettuce, apples, and cashews! it's my fav! (and others of course!)

I think Dalma seriously made all of our days with the 1.7 pounds per week thing! :) So thanks again! It's nice to see what can happen if we really do it and stick to our goals!

and dalma!!! over 100 pounds!!! CONGRATS!!!!

I did workout today after teaching. Only about 30 minutes, but still. Hey, it's something, right?!?!?! And that makes it 5 days in a row! I have to work my other job tonight too...have to leave in about an hour....so I'm off to get ready! Hope we're busy! Big tips!! Have a great night all!!!

I started at 286.4 and I'm now at 221.0 (with my actual lowest being 209, but I slacked for awhile and JUST restarted.)

Add me as a buddy and then I can see your journals and such. Also - if you need some inspiration....my best friend Megan is also on the site (although she's basically done losing weight) and had nearly the same start weight as you (I think 370ish) and she's now 135 or lower. CRAZY! Check out her profile here..

And Good luck! Work hard and keep yourself accountable too and it will happen!

Good Morning!

Another day, another 0.6 pounds gone! In the past 5 days, (since going vegan) I've lost 4.8 pounds! I know most of it was probably water. But seeing progress on the scale really motivates me to keep working hard! So that's what I'll do. I couldn't get myself out of bed early this morning to work out. But, I'll get a good workout in when I'm done with work (around 12).

I agree with being nervous about a bun in the oven each month. Ugh. I hate that feeling. Especially because I'm not on BC anymore. Even worse!

That's all for now...I should probably get some work done!

Ah. Another update. 

Went and worked out. 30 minutes on the elliptical and 10 on the bike. Not too bad. Considering I totally did not want to work out today. And I've had over 100oz of water today too. 

Now to shower and then hopefully I'll be able to sleep tonight! I took a two hour nap earlier, so that may hinder good sleep this evening....

boots - vegan taco salad - I use Morningstar Farms crumbles and homemade taco seasoning (the commercial kind uses whey...weird!). Or, if I'm not in the mood for the crumbles, I like to use Tempeh. But as I cook it I crumble it up. Then use the seasoning. Then I just do lettuce, the crumbles, salsa, hot sauce, and if I have it Vegan Gourmet's "Better than Sour Cream." Yum! Sometimes I just crunch a few tortilla chips on top for crunch too....mostly because it's soooo low cal! :) And a lot lower sodium with homemade seasoning too....so everyone should do that!

on sex drive - I just noticed like a month ago that my sex drive has NEVER been higher than it is right now. Strange, right? But I'm not sure it has to do with weight, because that's been stagnant (or even going slightly up) since November! But I did notice my "confidence" level rise dramatically in the bedroom as I lost the weight. And that made for a much better sex life! :)

dalma - ugh. money. I hope he meant it when he called to say he had his half!

reddy- I agree with boots! We need pics of the little one! :)

Update on me: I have had basically NO energy today. I slept well last night but felt like I could have slept all day. I've been really pushing myself these last 3 days so maybe all that work caught up to me? I also I enjoyed my first cooked food in 3 days today! :) YUM! But I think I went overboard...even though I know in pure calories I'm still good. But that's a lot of processed stuff for my body to handle going from raw to that...hmmm. We'll see what my weight is like tomorrow. Anywho....I came home from work and took a two hour nap! (Yikes! won't be able to sleep tonight!) Then talked to Cody (<3) and he talked me into going to the gym, even if it's just for a little 30 minute workout. I need to keep it in my routine. The not smoking is going better today. The veganism is pretty easy so far. Hope it stays that way!

reddy  Way to set goals. That helps. Keeps you accountable! Sounds like we're all in on this July thing together...so we'll have tons of motivation this month!!

muppet - That sounds exactly like me and Cody. There are moments (especially every freakin time I quit smoking!) that I just go crazy. He keeps his cool and then later I realize how crazy I actually was!!! Yay for good, understanding men!

akela - yeah. took on a lot. But that's really how I operate! An "all-or-nothing" personality I guess! And it's getting easier! I successfully completed a 2 day raw food fast! I haven't slipped up on the veganism or the smoking! So yay! Here's to being healthy! Now I have to continue the workouts!

And I will too...maybe not in July...but soon. Dang it!

Wow...chatty today!

fay- I also hate dealing with technical issues but have to pretty consistently! 4 hours on the phone!?!?! Yuck!

akela- I'm totally in on the July Challenge. And I fully intend to kick it's ass. :) Seriously. My SW is 221.4 (as of today, but that will have to work!) and my goal is 215. Or (hopefully) lower!!! And I still haven't tried zig-zagging calories, but I have heard people that swear by it for getting them through a plateau. I think you should go for it but do what dalma says and lower it to numbers you're more comfortable with!

parties this weekend - I am going to my sister's annual 4th party. There will be tons of food and booze. Luckily with my new found veganism I will be able to stay away from all the super unhealthy junk food! :) And my sis is making kabobs with marinated tofu and veggies! She loves me! As for the booze...I just might have to make sure I get in a fabulous workout in the morning and watch my calories the rest of the day! I am determined to get myself under 200 pounds before mid-September. Hopefully before!

dalma - I'm so jealous of your close-ness to those desired 100's! You go girl! I'll live vicariously through you until I make it there myself! 

My update: Today is day 2 of my raw food fast. And Day 3 of quitting smoking. And day 3 of going vegan. LOL. Yeah, I took on a lot at once. Yesterday was really hard. It seemed like every ten minutes I had a craving for something (basically either some bread/pasta/anything cooked or a cigarette.) Today it's really just the cigarette cravings. And those will go away....eventually.

Today is also the third day in a row that I've worked out! And then after dinner I really wanted to smoke, so instead I took a walk! How constructive! :)

And Summer School is going pretty well too. I like it! And it is re-energizing me to be ready to teach in the Fall. (At least so far....ask me again in 3 weeks...)

Hope everyone is having a great Tuesday! I'm going to eat my orange and drink my fruit "smoothie" :)

Good morning ladies! 

I drank so much water yesterday (and I'm not used to it anymore) that I had to get out of bed to pee like 4 times! Finally just before 4am, I decided to stay awake and go work out. I went up to the fitness center at my apartments. Did 30 minutes on the elliptical. Not my best, but I'm easing back into it. 

Had an apple and some sunflower seeds so far for breakfast. Cutting up other fruits and veggies for my raw food fast today. I've been craving a cigarette about once an hour. Sucks a bit. But it will pass. 

Reunions - I am totally going to mine. I've got another 4 years till my ten year. I was fat in HS, but still had friends in all the cliques. (I went to a really small school though!) And I was president of my class my junior and senior year. So I think it's partly my responsibility to plan it? We'll see. By then I'll be at goal and won't be able to wait to show off! :)

Have a great Monday ladies! I'm going to kick off the first day of summer school! At least it's only half days. And then maybe another workout....? We'll see!

Argh. Hey again ladies. I'm back, I'm back. You know it :)

Today's a big day for me. I quit smoking. I went Vegan. And I'm back on track to losing another 25 pounds to finally get me safely under the 200 pound mark. 

I am doing a raw food fast the next two days. I went for a jog/walk today (only a mile, but still good!) and I plan on working out tomorrow afternoon. 

I'm teaching Summer School starting tomorrow, so it will be nice to have a set schedule and routine again. (I'm the weird one who can't stand having that much time off work...unless I'm doing something awesome. But sitting at home isn't helping anything!)

watchme - thanks for the message trying to keep me in check. I'm back. I'm dedicated to losing this weight. 

On a personal update - I'm dating my ex-boyfriend again (we were together for 3.5 years then he broke up with me in September). We're just keeping it mostly casual. Not living together, or planning to anytime soon. But seeing each other for dates at least once a week. It's amazing too! I'm so happy again! 

But...off to bed for now! I have a morning filled with soon to be 8th graders! :) 

(oh, and I've missed you all...but will never be able to catch up!)

Hey ladies. Hope you're all having a better day than I am. Ugh. Problems with a student at school, and dealing with the aftermath of them not being able to behave in my class. Only one more class today. Then three classes tomorrow. Then I can de-stress for a week before going back at it for another 8 weeks. Ugh (again.) I can't wait to move to Cali and go back to grad school. If I wasn't going to get paid all summer for not working, I might seriously quit right now.

Morning ladies! After I get through today at work, only one more day...then 10 days off!!! Getting here is sometimes the hardest part...and I am here and ready to go....mostly.

My weight was a little up this morning...sodium? I worked out and ate pretty well (1700 calories yesterday) so I know I didn't actually gain. Working out today and we'll see how everything pans out for my weigh in at the gym on Friday....

Ugh. Seriously. I need to mentally prepare myself for work. Off to teach a bunch of 10th graders about special triangles...yipee!

Hey ladies. I've had an alright day. School wasn't too bad. I just have a lot on my plate. Lots of family stuff crept up yesterday that I would really rather not deal with, but have no choice (I'll try to journal about it later). But I'm still kicking butt.

Today I was down another .2 pounds for a loss of 4 pounds since Friday! :) I can live with that! And I'm going to workout around 5:30 with a friend, so that should help! We're kicking each other's butts!

aka - Seriously. Why does cheese have to be so good? I'm so glad I developed lactose intolerance (although I still do eat it on occasion!)!!!

dalma - I don't even pretend to understand boys. I never understood the one I was with for 3.5 years. lol. They're nuts! And sometimes soooo hard to read!

ally - thanks for the compliment on the pic! :) She's so cute! (And i'm slowly working up my confidence to feel that way too...) The warm weather makes me want to work out too. Is it just that I feel better about doing it or I'm not looking forward to sleeveless tops with these arms? lol.

I have a student after school working on old quizzes right now, so I'm just hanging out in my room. And I don't feel like doing ANYTHING school related....

edit - aka - Thank you! :) Yeah, Jess and I have been dating for awhile, but we haven't called it official because of the distance right now. She's moving back here for 6 weeks this summer then I move to Cali in September! So I'm sure it will be "official" in June or so. (even though it feels that way for both of us anyway. we decided it would be less stress on the relationship this way) And to date I've lost 75ish pounds. I'll add you to my restricted list and you can see my shorts and sports bra pics that were of me when I had lost 20, 40 and 60 (didn't have a starter pic)

Home from the gym ROUND 2!!! I burned a total of approximately 1000-1200 calories at the gym today! 45 minutes of cardio this morning, then another 55 minutes tonight. Wow. I'm impressed with myself!

Now for dinner! Grilled veggies and....hmm...not sure yet! It's going to taste so good!!! Now if I could just quit smoking....(yeah doing that again since about december...)

shapie - i have days where i think that upping my calories definitely helped to boost my metabolism - that whole calorie cycling idea. any day under maintenance is still a decent day! hope you enjoy your dinner!

akela - I second shapie. she basically said it all. you've realized what you did, now you're ready to do a great job this week! we're all rooting for you!

Alright....I really hate grading. But, marking period grades are due in exactly 57 minutes...so I should probably finish up... :)

Hello again! Just got back from the gym. Burned about 650 calories in about 50 minutes. Awesome! Well on my way to 199 (and then lower...) And I'm going back tonight at 6:15 for at least 45 more minutes of cardio. Then normal workout days Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday and another two-a-day on Friday! I'm crazy, but soooo motivated right now!!! :) It's awesome. I feel like I did when I just started! Ready to see the pounds melt off!

shapie - Well...if no one else is chatty here today, I sure am! When I'm at work I can check the forum during my plan hour, but that's about it. Can't really stop teaching geometry to check the forum...unfortunately. :( I think I missed the chatter about the C25K challenge. But I'm totally game for it! It sounds like boots is in charge of it? I'd like details too! When, how, etc! Do you know if there will be any "healthy" options at the dinner tonight?

faye- welcome! And congrats on the 10 pound loss this month! That's awesome!

Alright...off to grill up some delicious veggies for lunch. And maybe a vegetarian corndog too. Yum! Oh - and I posted a pic of me and Jess in my gallery! :)

Seriously ladies. When I'm not working I'm just bored...but it's better than working...I do spend a lot of time on this site though...better than eating... :)

I'm leaving to go work out with my partner for the weight loss competition though in about 30 minutes! 199 here I come!

shapie - seriously...why does wine have to be sooo good! :)  and i heart open-minded tolerant people! :) We will be under 200 in no time at all! Let's do it together! and back exercises? I'm not sure...you'll be able to tone there, but i've heard it's impossible to lose in specific "spots." the weight just comes off wherever it wants to!

dalma- all i can do is dream about the beach. it's way to cold here to even be thinking about busting out the "too big for me" swimsuit.

sweepie- wow. so much going on! sorry about the loss. and is grandma doing better now? and congrats on the loss (both pounds and inches!)

Alright...working out then grading. Then a nap? :) That sounds awesome! Jess's parents are visiting her in Cali right now. They went and did wine tasting yesterday. Me = jealous.

Morning ladies! Not feeling so well here. Went to school and just couldn't do it today, so I got a sub. I just am not feeling well. And it doesn't help that I really dislike my job....argh. Otherwise I probably would have stuck it out. But...that's why they give you sick days, right?

Luckily I still saw 210.6 on the scale this morning! That is 3.8 pounds down from my Friday weigh in! I'm going to take the "day off" opportunity and work out twice today. I'll go get some cardio in this morning. Then I'm meeting my friend at the gym at 6:30. So...it should be a good workout day! I'm determined to get below 200!!! It's nearly impossible to do before my birthday (April 14th), but that won't stop me from trying! What an incredible birthday present to myself!!! :)

muppet- have fun tanning! I know it's not supposed to be great for you, but it is always great for my mood. It would be amazing right now...considering it freakin snowed yesterday!

Alright...so there didn't seem to be any damage today to my weight from my drinking last night! In fact, I'm down 3.8 pounds from my Friday weigh in!!! And I just weighed myself after having already eaten and had tons of water today! Bonus! So I'm going to head up to the fitness center at my apartment complex in a little bit and get some decent cardio in. Then hopefully those numbers will continue to move in the right direction!

Oh...and seriously. I know I live in Michigan...but snow?!?! It's supposed to be Spring!!

Hey ladies...crazy night last night. Drank too much wine, but I tried to figure it into my calories for the day and I worked out yesterday to try to balance the damage I knew would happen....

The good news is that I didn't eat like crap after being drunk! That's always quite a struggle for me. But I was good last night. Barely got any sleep though. And now I have to lesson plan for the week. Yay! 4 more days of school then I get to start Spring Break! I'm excited! Jess will be here for a few days...so that will be awesome to spend some time with her! (She lives in Cali....me in Michigan - until September)

Off to get some work done. The weekends always seem to be slow...it's when we're all slacking off at work that the most chatting happens!

So I seriously just went through like 5 pages of posts and don't think I am caught up! That'll teach me a lesson to stay away from you ladies!!! You'll be seeing more of me....yesterday was the first weigh in for the 6 week competition I'm doing at the gym, so time to kick some arse and take some names again! I'm ready to see One-derland too! Only 13 pounds to go!!!

On "gayness" :) : I agree with the spectrum. I dated a guy for 3.5 years (he broke up with me last september) and right now I'm dating a girl (her name is Jess...and she's amazing! She was one of my really good friends for past couple of years and it just....blossomed? But I couldn't be more happy with her!) I didn't know if I was comfortable talking about it in here....but I think I sort of am now! :)So now are our stats more like they should be? :)

I'm headed to the gym here shortly...working out with my teammate at 11. Then the plan is to get grading done and headed out to a friends house for a shindig. If it's nice we're having a bonfire, if not, cards and fun times inside! I told her this morning that she has to donut wrestle for me! That's what we refer to as making sure the other doesn't eat like a jack ass! :) I love us!
