Well, I am going to try to stop myself from going to the corner store and buying things I don't need for NYE. I was originally invited to join my friend and her friends (I just moved here and I only know 1 person) but apparently that has changed. She is going to a party but I don't think I am invited anymore. Ha ha. Oh well. This will be my second big Holiday alone here and I have only lived here a month! Oh well. At least if I am home alone chances are I won't binge or do something stupid. Especially since I don't have much food at home!

Anyone else got big plans?

Actually, my 21st Birthday sucked. I think my 23rd or 24th was one of the best ever. So, there are still fun Birthdays, no worries!

Hey Shera and Emma--

So when you want to know if you can do it on your own, my simplified answer would be yes, but. Yes you can but remember our EDs lie to us, they twist our vision and how we see our bodies (go look at Linny's body distortion thread for examples), and they tell us we are worthless unless we are nothing but skeletons.

If the therapy you are getting now is not helping you, FIND ANOTHER GROUP. Eroth has gone through that herself, and I cheer her on as she works to find an effective place to get help.

Well, I am not in any type of therapy at the moment. And, in all honesty I have only told 2 people (long distance) about my eating but they don't know that much. I just am hesitant to ask for help I guess. At the moment I am doing better, but that happens with me. I will be doing great and then all of a sudden for no reason everything comes back even worse than it was the last time. I guess if I see myself really going downhill again (not just for a day or anything) I will make the call and try to see someone. I just don't like the thought of it.

Well, I have to say that the food you listed doesn't seem to add up to 1200 if I am estimating right. In all reality, the lowest you should go as far as calories go is 1200 if you are a woman. Eating less just messes up your metabolism (I speak from experience) so I would never go below 1200 if I were you, especially if you exercise on top of lowering your calorie intake.

I see that you just set up an account here. If you use the tools that the site provides, it will tell you about how many calories in a day you really burn. (Whether you exercise or not, your body will burn more than 1200 calories a day.) Once you have a better idea of how many calories you really burn in a day, you will have a better idea of where to start as far as calorie intake goes.

Don't give up, 15 pounds isn't much and it will go faster than you think! :)

None (even ears). I HATE needles..... >>

I hate needles too. Except to me there is a differance between needles at the doctor and needles for piercings/tattoos. I dont mind needles as much when im getting something i like on my body, i dont like them taking stuff out of or putting medicine in

I am with you there! It was funny, I needed to get blood drawn once and the nurses couldn't understand why I was making such a big deal about getting blood drawn when I had holes in my face intentionally.

Hi all. For the last 2+ years I have struggled with bulimia and I am thinking about getting treatment for it. I was curious though, has anyone here recovered from bulimia without seeing a professional? Just by doing things on their own?

I forgot to mention that I also got my first tattoo last month along my rib cage. It took 3 hours of tattoo time. Ouch! But I love it! Many more will follow I am sure! Laughing

Well, I haven't stretched my ear piercings although I have though about it. I do however, have my nostril pierced with a 16 or 14 gauge (I cannot remember which at the moment.) I also used to have my eyebrow pierced but too many accidental hits caused it to start rejecting. It was pierced with a ring (which I didn't particularly want and I also heard they are more stubborn as far as healing.) I plan on getting my eyebrow pierced again in the spring with a barbell. The only other piercings I have considered are a lip or a labret (spelling?) piercing.

21 here! I coach basketball and sometimes my girls tell me I could dress in their uniform and just blend right in haha. Could be worse I guess! So how do you all who are trying to diet deal with alcohol? I try not to drink very often 1-2 times per month but I feel like those 800 calorie nights really hinder my dieting..

Well, I try to stick with the alcoholic beverages with less calories like a gin & tonic or something. Rum and Diet coke is supposed to be pretty low too I think. There are several websites that list the calorie content for alcoholic beverages.

Busybee- I too am trying to stop my bulimic ways. I am 26 (will be 27 in March) and get told constantly that I look like I am 17 or so. It is particularly annoying at casinos where I have actually been carded up to 5 times in one night! I have joined CC to try to get a hold of my calories to see if that will lessen the possibility of a binge. I wish I could say that I haven't binged since I joined, but at least I haven't done anything negative to "make up" for the binges. I am trying at least...

I am hoping that Bubble Bobble makes its way onto the Wii Virtual Console soon. That was by far my favorite game!
