| A great bit "Thank You" Molly!
This week Down.....2 lbs....yay..... I gotta tell you, we had a big get together at work, lots of yummy food there, banana pudding, potatoe salad, brisket, pies, cobblers, ice cream...the list goes on...BUT....I ate a small slice of barbecued brisket, a tad of pea salad, and maybe a tablespoon of the tater salad and that was it!! Everyone kept trying to get me to try this....and try that...but i just told them I couldn't have those I was too full! And i am not hungry! I am so proud of myself for not going back for seconds....or for the sugary desserts! Also...UPDATE...lost 2 lbs this week ..Now 298!!!! |

| I am currently taking Phentremine, and have been for 3 months.
My doctor prescribed them to me, i was on them before and he took me off of them after two months, and i did indeed gain the weight back i had lost...about 30 lbs. I have currently lost 20 lbs, not as much as the first time around but i have been taking them longer than the first time. My doctor wants me to try a few methods of weight loss before he will even consider gastric bypass or the lap band. So i really want to give it my all, to make sure i am doing everything possible to keep from having to get that surgery. i believe that the gastric bypass and the lapband are both great ideas, but nonetheless it is still surgery and it is not an easy road. You have to take vitamins all the time, and some people have bouts of diarrhea and vomiting..doesn't sound like my way of life. I will keep ya'll updated as i progress. I do like the phentermine, but i have also taken the Dexatrim Max on the weekends, i don't seem to have the energy i do when i quit taking the Phentermine. |

| uh yeah, i seen people grabbing that stuff off the shelves, i had preordered some from amazon.com but after i read all of the icky things about it, i cancelled my order. I don't want to take a chance i am going to be having "leakage" while i am at work. I am like the other posters here..i will just eat less fat and take my chances on going it myself... | |||

| i would think that a huge salad for lunch , two apples a day, veggies for lunch and dinner and two pieces of wheat bread to be enough fiber. Something else must be going on. | |||

| since i have switched to veggies and healthier foods when i eat anything that is oily or greasy now i always get diarrhea. Sometimes even after i eat an apple or a salad it will go through me like water. I don't know what causes it, but i have the same problems. It doesn't happen all the time i would say maybe once a week sometimes twice, then by morning i am back to normal without taking anything for the diarrhea. I don't know if it is from the grease and my body is not used to it or if it could be all of the fiber i am eating now, or hey maybe a litttle bit of both?

| Ok i usually eat the same things pretty regularly
Breakfast...none. i usually just have coffee....sometimes i will indulge and have a small glass of milk Lunch usually always a salad from sonic grilled w/about some light ranch Today i had a grilled chicken wrap from sonic Dinner will be a grilled chicken breast with fajita seasoning lots of veggies, probably will be broccoli or spinach I heard corn and peas are no no's Snak i will have a 100 cal bag of kettle corn |

| Sounds like your doing a pretty good job on keeping your weight in check. I would suggest some chicken instead of red meat.
I am no expert on cholesterol i am 302 lbs and have great cholesterol ..go figure... Just keep doig what your doing, just keep your weight in check and make sure to not let any extra weight creep up on you. I avoided the scale for years..i knew i was fat, i didn't want to face the dreaded scale. Then one day i stepped on it and weighed a whopping 319 lbs! I was flabbergasted! I knew i got fat but my goodness! I know it took years to put this weight on and it will take years to take it off , but i think i am ready for that challenge. Good luck to you. Just remember don't let it get away from you, i didn't get this fat until i was about 35 .Check the scale pretty often so you can nip it in the bud before it gets out of control. |

| I take Effexor, actos, glucophage,synthroid and januvia
i lost 13 lbs so far in a month i stay on 1500 calories like my doctor told me to and avoid totally white foods. Though i do love milk i bought some calorie countdown which tastes like water...and when that was gone i allow myself one cup if i want it so i don't fee deprived. You can do it! Just stick with it thats the hardest part. I weigh 306 now, i did way 319 a month ago. |

| hmmmm....308 at the moment...i got up to 319 but have lost 11 lbs in the last three weeks. I am slowly but surely on a mission to get to 299 by the end of this month.
I am doing mini goals right now. Instead of saying i need to lose 200 lbs i say i need to lose 20 , when i get to 299 i am going to treat myself to a nice dinner with family. I will keep ya'll posted. |

| Hi Rosa, I am fairly new here too. Unlike you ,i have major weight loss issues. I weighed 304 lbs when i started but now i am down to 280.5 so i feel like i am accomplishing something. Good luck to you i hope you make it.

| I do that all the time.! I weigh two pounds or even four pounds more overnight then after a day or two it goes down , then up again, then finally after about a week it will taper off, i stayed at one weight for 3 weeks.! I got so discouraged when the scale did not move! My doctor said this is normal. But if you do track it on a small calendar you will see over time that you are steadily losing the weight. | yeah sunflower seeds are good in salad too...and you could definetly maybe add some of that canned chicken or even chop up a few pepperoni slices in there and maybe even use the bokchoy lettuce and give it a few flips in the fry pan with a little bit of pam to wilt it a little ...crispy and warm.

| How about some of the whole wheat tortillas? You could take one of the small ones and roll it up with like some chicken and maybe some fat free cheese, and then bake it too, i don't think that would be too bad. Or maybe phillo dough? Not sure how many cals in that though. Now you could probably buy that frozen bread dough in the loaf or even that frozen oven roll dough and make a whole bunch of them up and freeze them that would be economical..also would one of those ready made pie crust work or would that be too much shortening ..fat?

| i take chicken breasts and slice them in half to make them thinner sort of like filleting a fish, and then i put some lemon pepper or even some fajita seasoning on them and cook them in like four or 5 of them and put them in a baggie and freeze them for a quick lunch . When i get ready to go to work i will throw in a piece of chicken maybe some salad lettuce and a tomato and your good to go! I have alos bought the frozen pepper strips and put them on the grill also, spraying it with nonstick spray first, it does work good. I have heard if you put the fish in foil and then put it on the grill like say with a few veggies or even some butter buds or some parsley on it then put it on the grill it makes it nice and moist haven't tried it though.
Now i bet you could cook some of that turkey bacon on it too, for a healthy BLT. |

| okay my doctor told me to cut out ALL sodas including diet..but i can have coffee! So i dumped the diet sodas and drink water ...i don't drink a ton of water but i sip on it all day at my desk at work. i reach for it instead of the soda. not only have i saved money..not having to buy a 12 pack a week to stock up the company fridge, but i think it has helped with my weight also. I am not saying i lost a ton of weight, but what could it hurt to cut that out? Now what about crystal light, or those other flavored drinks? I so like to just drink one glass of tea with no sweetner no artificial no splenda no nothing maybe some lemon, but lemon will eat your tooth enamel up too. | |||

| That Strawberry cream smoothie sounds good...mmmm i will try that l..everyone had great suggestions in here...i know that they do make a bullet that DOES have the juicer attachement but i quit juicing a few years back ,,i had a humongous juicer and it was more trouble than it was worth so i quit that . Now i do love bananas, strawberries,i tried to use blackberries but there was so many tiny seeds it was gross...i threw it out. I also like lime..and lemon...does anyone have like a key lime smoothie recipe, or maybe a strawberry banana?
I like orange too, i am going to try the orange creamsicle smoothie also..and i love pineapple too..i don't think there is too much i do not like..LOL Okay now..what about avocados? I know they are good for you but in moderation..anyone got any good ideas on how to uuse them moderately? I guess in a salad or maybe in a sandwich.? Thanks you guys! |

| I went to Weight Watchers..let me tell you what i think of it....I spent 11 dollars a week , every saturday meeting was at 730 am...(this was the only time i could go due to my job) I would walk in , stand in line...for a few minutes ,get weighed..plunk down my 11 dollars and if i wanted i would buy like a pack of those fruit chews and maybe a box of those WW Bars. But i did lose some weight ,..the first few weeks..then nothing.
then the next week..nothing..so the leader tells me maybe is should start walking..so i walked 3 miles per day 6 days per week for a while..i lost another 3 lbs...after that i quit...i quit because the meeting was to start at 730 am...i would get there 725 stand in line until 730 get weighed, sit at my table until everyone else got weighed and at about 740 when everyone was weighed the leader would come up..tell us about some recipes, that she found, give out a couple of awards then ask if there were any questions..no one would ask anything so that was the end of the meeting at about 750, so i could not see paying 11 dollars per week for 10 minutes of recipe exchange, and for someone to weigh me on a scale i could do myself at home for nothing. There was no support at this meeting ,,no one talked to each other or anything it was a real drag. Counting points became an obsession...everything i would eat or think about eating..was always on my mind...how many points for this .how many points for that...how many points do i have left? I am glad i am out of ww and now am just doing the 1500 calorie per day like my doctor advised..seems to be working so far..i have lost 23 1bs since December..it has been s-l-o-w----but he says i am doing good. so my advice about WW? save your money ..you don't need that> |
