Melkor, Doc, Split, Cajun 1, Cajun 2, Snaps(Tex), TRH...Eric & Igor generally get a nod...that leaves 3 slots open. Who was that one guy that was here just for like a week?

 That would be me.

Dear Office IT People:

IE 6 was perfectly acceptable years ago.  However, since then there has been this wonderful innovation called "tabbed browsing."  Stable browsers have now been using it for years.

Because you're a bunch of fascists, you have total control over what gets installed on our computers, and all software has to be approved by you.  The approval process moves slower than molasses in January.

If you have these paranoid worries about something as simple as an Internet browser, I shudder to think what version of AutoCAD our engineers use, or if we just have an army of draftsmen hidden in the basement, armed with pencils and a lot of paper.

Get with the times.

Thanks,

Thonx

Thonx your IT folks are sitting in the IT cave watching the video of you being frustrated with outdated technology.  IT folks find that amusing....

Umm.... I know you have moved on, but I need to point out that Norm plays with his wood, while Bob Vila just talks about it.... That should say something to the ladies.

I will not bludgeon my co-workers to death today.

I will not eat candy today.

I will not eat candy today.

We all know you lie and by the end of the day the candy dish will be empty the co-worker will be bludgeoned and you will be sitting in your office chair with an expression of relief on your face.

I've resisted the candy for three days!  Only 5 months and 27 days to go!

You use the candy dish to bludgeon the co-worker silly!!

Congrats on your self control so far!!  Keep it up!

I am a lover of sandwhiches. :)

My sister-in-law doesn't like sandwiches.  As in, any sandwiches, whether they are PB&J, egg salad, ham and cheese, or pastrami on rye...

I have a theory (*pulls up armchair*) that because she's the runt in her family that she used a finicky diet to get more attention from her parents...

How can one not like ANY sandwiches?

I think she's part borg.

Either that or she is a relative of DATA, and just does not eat at all.

That's true.  He probably wouldn't understand the concept of the sandwich.

He probably understands the mechanics of the assembly, but has no appreciation for how the flavors all combine to create a masterpiece........

So I tried to do push-ups last night.  I could do the modified ones (on my knees) fine, but real ones = epic fail.  I can lower myself about two inches before all my muscles go GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! MAKE IT STOP!

*feels like a wuss*

Give it time, do the modified push ups for a time to allow your muscles get used to the action, then start with 1 or two regular push ups.  Because the push up works the core to hold in a plank position you need to stegnthen those muscles and it takes time.

This Sunday.

So what was up with the site yesterday afternoon? Looked like it crashed or something.

hope it wasn't my butt cake link.

haha... i don't know, i never got back on before I left work. It was tragical.

It was awful!!  I went through withdrawal!  I didn't know what to do with myself!!

And right after I had posted a deeply personal journal entry!!

So, I played Runescape all evening.

What is Runescape?   The name sounds like your manicuring something, or trimming someone....

How are you Pav?

TB, understand that sometimes when you follow your heart it is leading in the wrong way.  Stand back and be objective about the situation.  What would you tell a friend in the same situation?

 *holdtongueFail*

Methinks she was expecting a shoulder to cry on rather than to hear how to solve her problem.  At least, this is my academic...misunderstanding...of how women do not work.

Given that I don't fully understand the female persuasion, I will grant that your probably right.  But that is the advice that I would give to anyone IRL.  I really sympathize with her situation, and I hope that it all works out for the best.

...and my father lived about 150 miles west of there in Lukeville (Organ Pipe Cactus NM). :D

I've been there a time or two.... Interesting area.

My father took me down there once back when I was in high school.  Ajo was the first real company town that I had ever been in (although my mother grew up in a coal camp in Kentucky, the coal company had relaxed its economic grip on her hometown by the time I was born).

My father had a story that some guy on the south side of Ajo tried to raise cattle amongst the jumping cholla cacti (sp).  The cows ended up with spiny balls all around their mouths...

Cholla Cactus can be nasty.  I have seen both cows and horses die from injuries from the stuff.  If they get the spines from cholla in them and can get the ball of cholla dislodged part of the spine is left in the wound to fester... The stuff is hard to get out and when you do get it out hard to treat....

I would say your fathers story was true.

 BAHAHAHA!

I am a true moderate. I am half a notch left of dead center and directly on the horizontal axis.

I'm a titch below the horizontal axis and a notch right of center.  My closest political bedfellow is Jose Zapatero *looks doubtful*

I am way down in the Conservative Libertarian country.

i lean in that direction more often than not when it comes down to voting.

I think a lot of people who profess being democrat and republican tend to lean that way when they sit down and really think about the issues.  People just don't do it enough.

Bah to partisan politics.

Which one did you work on?

Guevavi Mission, way back in the 1980's.  In 1990 it was added to the Kino Missions parks

Now that is cool.  But, it's now part of Tumacacori (or whatever it is :D) National Historic Park, right?

That is correct.  Father Kino founded all these missions from way down in Sonora all the way up to the Kino Mission in Tucson, Guevavi is one of them.  The Tumacacori angle comes into play because there are several missions and hacienda's right around Tumacacori.
