16 year-old female; 120 pounds; 5'4"
I average 1800 calories/day. I'm active 5 days/week at the very least. (Lacrosse practice Monday Tuesday Thursday Friday + games, ballet class Mondays, and I walk at least a mile Wednesday. I usually do yoga and pilates on Saturdays & Sundays. I walk the dog every day that I don't have lacrosse... Oy, that looks like a lot more typed up than in my head!) |

Dannon Light 'n Fit uses Splenda. (If you've got a Kroger, I totally recommend their 'Lite' yoghurts-- sweetened with Splenda, cheap, and YUM!) |

You can eat whatever you want and, as long as you're in your calorie range, still lose weight. (I wouldn't suggest eating your calories entirely in doughnuts, however :P) Peanut butter has healthy fats and protein; it's a perfectly healthy food, just because it is calorie-dense, it is usually not considered 'diet-friendly'. |

yyonah: also make sure that you're taking a good women's multivitamin (: (Yesterday) Breakfast: Protein pancakes with flax and sugar free strawberry preserves, coffee Lunch: Honey Nut O's with yoghurt, half a banana, and some flax Snacks: (I was at an amusement park and their food repulses me because of some not-so-vegetarian items I've seen them incorporate into their 'meatless' dishes :|) frosted lemonade, halfish a vanilla soft serve cone, apple Dinner: Pizza, bahah. Dessert: oh, hey, more ice cream :P Not such a healthy day, hah, but I was walking around for like 4 hours, so there. |

| Young Calorie Counters | teenage metabolism and counting calories? | Mar 17 2008 01:04 (UTC) |

I've been counting somewhat religiously since about a week before January. It honestly feels like I've been doing this forever though. Not a day went by that I didn't count every last morsel. I've been realizing in the last weeks that counting calories may not be the best thing for me, but the thought of stopping the counting freaked me out a LOT. It's like I've been obsessively counting every calorie-- not over-restricting, just obsessively counting. So then this past Friday I told myself not to log onto CC. I kept myself busy, and I didn't. This is the first time I've logged on since, and I'm done with the calorie counting. IT FEELS SO GOOD. Don't get me wrong, being here has taught me portion control and a LOT about nutrition (something I'm interested in pursuing as a career)-- but it wasn't healthy for me to do what I was. There is no reason that food should have been the first thing on my mind. I realized I was planning on when to hang out with people to avoid eating out or in front of them, and I was obsessive about everything being just so in my eating plans. If I didn't know the calories in something, it would eat me up. I accidentally ordered a full-fat coffee and I was so consumed in how I would have to make up for it and how that wasn't what I had planned and how it would mess up my ratios, I couldn't even enjoy my outing with my family. Looking back, I had some semi-ED tendencies that were not at all healthy. I dunno. But. This weekend has been great: I eat when I'm hungry. I don't eat crap all day, and I don't eat until I'm superfull. I try to get at least a little exercise most days. I eat plenty of fruits and veg, I make sure to get my protein. And I feel so much better this way. I guess I just have a somewhat perfectionist/obsessive personality, but calorie counting was obviously not for me. |

| Calorie Count | Burn Meter? What is it and how should i interpret it? | Mar 14 2008 00:55 (UTC) |
|
| Keep your calorie intake between 500-1000 calories less than your burn. Calculate your BMR and do not eat below this number (this is approximately the number of calories you would burn whilst in a coma). Good luck! (: | |||

Original Post by sandria: This is true, but it's much harder to avoid medicines that were animal-tested. If the drugs they give my father for his lymphoma was tested on animals, then so be it, he should still take them of course. I don't agree with the testing, but honestly I would rather that my dad not die. On the hand of things like candy and cosmetics, however? It's so COMPLETELY unnecessary that it makes me absolutely ill. Here's a list of animal-testing/non-animal testing companies... |

What a coincidence! I did a WA-VA move last summer (with two cats), and this summer we'll be moving back to WA (with two cats and a dog) (: I pretttttty much ate crap the whole drive last year though, so I have no advice but I'll definitely be watching this thread! EDIT: Wait, I have advice regarding upset kitty-ness! Rescue Remedy! It worked WONDERS for our cats last year; and they definitely HATE car-rides. We tried the putting it in their water thing, but found that the most successful way of calming them was by rubbing some in their ears. Totally worked. Slightly expensive but very much worth it. |

Physically, I prefer my guys to be fit or on the chubby side. Taller than I. I generally prefer dark hair. I love scruffy facial hair. (ex was 5'8" and only 135, blond and babyfaced-- so these definitely aren't requirements, hah) Sexiest man alive: Claudio Sanchez. Personality-wise, definitely intelligent. Sweet. Laid-back definitely (although not too laid-back... that'd be why the above mentioned is an ex :P) NOT clingy or cocky. Mature. Good taste in music (honestly, I'd have trouble dating someone who constantly listens to country), similar beliefs religiously/politically. Vegetarians are sexy. Irish or Scottish accent and I'm yours (: |

| Do not worry about calories. You're going to be getting huge amounts of exercise, you need to fuel yourself. | |||

| Weight Loss | Do you log your calories every day? | Mar 10 2008 01:35 (UTC) |
16 |
| Yeah, I always log as best as I can, just because I like the monthly/weekly averages to be as close as possible to accurate-- I know that if I took one zero it'll screw the average and that'd bother the CRAP outta me. | |||
| Weight Loss | Okay just a clarification to see if this is reasonable | Mar 08 2008 17:20 (UTC) |

| Wait, I just gotta ask: why is this on the weight loss forum? Are you trying to lose weight? Because your BMI is already on the low side of healthy :/ | |||

| Since lacrosse started I've been eating a Luna bar every day. It's just way more convenient (and they're yummy!)-- I have to drive straight from school to lacrosse and the drive is about twenty-thirty minutes. Not to mention it's gotta fit in my school bag without a chance of spilling. | |||

| You're recovering from an ED, aren't you? Don't do this. You're slipping back into ED tendencies with the binging/fasting. Eat normally today. Maybe don't weigh yourself tomorrow? | |||
