Hey Everyone,

Sorry it's been tough for me to get on on Sundays.  Although I didn't lose an astounding amount of weight, at least I continue to lose!!

This week: 281.2

Good luck to everyone!  Glad everyone has been logging in and posting their info!  It really does help give me some continued encouragement!

So true Tina---that's a good way to put it in perspective.  Other than the bday meals, I've been careful with everything else I'm eating and also making sure I don't go too crazy with the cruddy food.

Welcome to all of our new members of the group!  Glad that you are here.

Well, I hate to admit this, I gained about 3.8 pounds over the past week.  I have been celebrating my birthday with several people taking me out to dinner!  I have tried to be very careful about what I eat, but it's been tough convincing everyone to go out early and not at 9:00!!  I'm hoping by the end of this week I'll be in better shape!

Ugh!  I hate to admit this.  Stepped on the scale today and I am at 286.3, so I gained a few pounds.  Unfortunately, for my bday I have had everyone and their brother wanting to take me out to dinner!  The past 7 days I have been out to dinner 4 times!!  Believe me, I am being careful about what I choose to eat, but still it's definitely much different food then I normally would.

Hoping to report a loss next week!!  UGH!

I was at 283.1 this morning.  Not too bad considering the past week+ has been a few nights of eating out to celebrate my birthday (this upcoming Wednesday).  I've tried to eat somewhat healthy all things considered.

Only lost a little this week although the past few weeks I have had a few celebrations for my birthday with friends and have been doing a lot of restaurant eating.  I've tried to make sure I still eat relatively good :-)

Although I would love to be losing 10 pounds a week (hahaha not possible, I know), I don't think this is too bad considering this weekend I went out for dinner twice (Friday and tonight) and I did eat a pretty good amount tonight with about 6 glasses of water.  I'm sure that has added an extra 2 or 3 pounds to the weight I just saw on the scale!

Everyone is doing such an awesome job!!  I'm glad everyone continues to check in!!!  Laughing

Hey Everyone,

Just wanted to share something really minor that I think is really helping me feel better and lose some weight.  Eating breakfast!  Yes, that's right...eating breakfast---and not at 10 or 11 in the morning, but when I get up around 6:30 for work!

I have been reading a lot about how breakfast really does help "kick start" your metabolism in the morning, and I have to admit I think it's doing something.  I feel so much more energetic and ready to hit the ground running once I get into work and I think it has helped my eating habits, in general.  I've also tried to make sure I eat lunch at 12:30 or 1:00 at the latest and I eat a snack (100 calorie pack, fruit, or a small pack pretzels) around 10:30 and/or 3:00.

I'm so happy to see so many of the same faces on here and so many new friends, too!  I'm glad to have you around and to have other people facing the challenge!!

OK, it's only a loss of 1.6 pounds, but I'm OK with that!!

 

A snack I swear by are the 100 Calorie Packs.  I find they are great because they almost "force" you, in a sense, to ensure proper portion control.  Also, they come in so many great varieties that if you're looking for a sweet or savory treat you can have one.  Not sure if anyone on here lives near a Trader Joe's, but they now have 100 Calorie packs of cookies---I would HIGHLY recommend them!

Welcome everyone and glad you're with us!  Don't worry, this group will not close and anyone can join at any time!  If you have family or friends who are also looking for some encouragement, please tell them to swing by the CC site!

Looking forward to the weigh in tomorrow because even though I didn't eat fantastically this weekend, I noticed definitely changes in my eating choices.  Case in point, we ordered pizza on Friday (fiance's sister and her fiance came over and wanted pizza).  Anyway, normally I could demolish half a pizza, easy...well, I practiced self restraint and actually ate two pieces---and felt satisfied and full! Hahaha

Small steps...small steps!

Seriously, I'm really feeling great, hit the gym today and feeling positive I'm doing something positive for myself!

For our next weigh in:  In addition to those ever so important statistics, I'd love for us to each share a snack item we each enjoy that is healthy and diet friendly :-)  We never know what new ideas we may hear and actually want to try!

Welcome to our new weight loss friends!  As Fauker said, we are here to lose a few pounds a week---and I'd like to add, hopefully without feeling that dieting and exercising is torture! Hahaha.

For me, the past few weeks looking at this as a lifestyle change has helped a lot.  Basically the better ways I have learned to eat (better food, portion control---NO fast food) has really helped.

This is going to sound so minor, but kind of a big thing for me.  I actually bought lunch for the first time in 2 weeks...I had a ham and cheese sandwich with tomatoes, lettuce, onion and MUSTARD!!  Normally I'd look for at least a little mayo on the sandwich, but this time I passed it up and just went with mustard.  I also got the low fat Swiss as opposed to the regular stuff...no chips or anything, just a nice pickle.  Sounds small, I know, but as I was looking at the menu I thought about how happy I am I have lost weight, and how that little bit of mayo would be equivalent to one of those 100 calorie packs (or more) that I have as a special treat every few days.  I've also been trying to make sure I have at least 3 large glasses of water (and generally more---but 3 is a good start for me!).

Glad to see we continue to have some new people joining us, and everyone is still psyched about their progress!

I definitely agree!  I think posting a new post makes it easier for everyone to read about what's going on---and helps us make special note of our weekly successes (or times when we need a little more support).

I am happy to report that I feel like I am doing so well on my lifestyle change.  I really haven't been tempted to eat crap foods, and I've been trying to be more active!!

Well, I've lost like 6 pounds in two weeks!   Hooray!

What has worked for me?  Keeping this place in mind and knowing that I want to report something really good every week.  Started back at the gym over the weekend----feeling good amount that!!

Also, PORTION CONTROL!!  We went out for Thai food the other night and I tried to make sure I drank plenty of water, and ate only about 1/2 of my meal---hooray!

Everyone is doing so great!!

Honestly, I haven't had a chance to log my foods/activity over the past few days.  I did start back at the gym yesterday!  Yay!

Hey Everyone,

Just wanted to do a little check in.  I felt awesome today.  Finally got my butt back to the gym.  First workout was today.  Besides the weight stuff, work has been INSANE and I have been stressing and just constantly high strung...basically I Just can't wind down!  Well, hit the gym and I'm feeling MUCH MUCH better.  It's amazing what the exercise does!!

There's an AWESOME gym near me and they had a special for the New Year.  $99.00 for the year.  No strings attached, no extra fees, etc.  After the year it goes to $34.99 a month.  Still pretty reasonable to me.  The price is basically like going out to dinner (not even) once a month.

PS Not sure if anyone here is interested in trying Yoga.  There is a GREAT videotape called Big Yoga for us gals with a little more junk in the trunk! Hahaha.  The website is www.bigyogaonline.com and you can buy the tape there.  I have been happy with it, and the instructor is...gasp.....a bigger girl like we are!!!

You can do it!  Say no!!  Are you able to maybe cut back on a few calories tomorrow and eat a cookie as a reward (almost balancing it out without adding too many calories or fat?)?

I was NOT feeling like cooking tonight and was SOOOO tempted to get pizza together.  I really thought about it and figured I have been trying hard ALL week, and decided to make the low fat turkey chili I was planning on making.  Man, it was tough, but I feel good for doing it!!

Seriously, I know how you feel.  I used to go to the gym all the time and really felt good about myself...then I would think about how beat I was after work, and how nice it would be to lounge on the couch with my favorite show on TV in my PJs....ahhhhh.....so, now I'm back to realizing the longer I lounge in my PJs the longer I'll be shopping in the "Women's" section of the store...oh, how I long for a huge selection of clothes to choose from! Heheheehe.

You can do it---even if you go to the gym for 20 minutes, better then no gym at all.  Think of all the money you might be wasting and put it to good use!

I guess we can follow all year how we all do----and CELEBRATE every success along the way whether it be 3, 30 or 130 pounds!!!  I think it's awesome you're doing a Biggest Loser at work, that should be fun!  I know it took me a lonnnnggggg time to type how much I weigh on here, then I started thinking that I'll never meet anyone on here, and the bottom line is, I need to admit I have to lose my 27 year old baby fat! Hahahah.
