I was watching biggest loser tonight and everyone on the show looks so much older since they lost all their weight.  I understand the inner conflict.

Brokeeeee,

I am in the exact same boat as you!!  I lost 9lbs Jan. to Mid March.  Then St. Patrick's day KILLED me!!  I have not been able to get back on track since.  I'm not sure how much I gained back at least 2 or 3.  I'm scared to step on the scale.  Do you want to "start over" together?

Thanks everyone.  I think I'm approaching the 3 month itch.  I really appreciate the support and I feel like it's going to keep me on track today!!

Weight Loss hollywood Apr 05 2008

I was reading a people magazine the other day.  It said Jennifer Aniston's average dinner was 3 sushi rolls.  I think that's ridiculous that 3 sushi rolls could be a dinner.  No wonder hollywood standards are so hard to achieve.

I'm not sure if my calculations are wrong or what.  I did forget the cooking oil (my bad) but the calorie counter says 2007.  Maybe I"m just calculating my food intake wrong?  I had a peanut butter sandwich.  I actually feel full now.  The first time in 3 days.  Now my calories are 2317 at least according to the food counter.  I guess tomorrow is a new day.  I'm just worried about excercising now and then overeating because I feel famished.

Oh and thanks for all the support, everyone!  Sometimes it helps to get some perspective.

Today I had Brocoli, carrots, grilled chicken, rice noodles, a slice of whole wheat bread, cabbage, 3 oz of lean beef, romaine salad (no dressing),  2 bites of cheddar cheese, a kombucha tea, and a lean cuisine meal.

Yes, eating fiber and protein

I do think  I'm eating enough for my activity level.  I'm fairly sedentary.  Today I'm only about 200 calorie deficit.  Same as yesterday.  The day before I had probably a 1000 one because I didn't eat as much and I worked out.

Probably a little more stress

Drinking Water

Not sure about the period.. I have PCOS so you period comes and goes at anytime.  It should becoming soon but I can go months without having one....

Thanks!!  Well right now I'm trying to focus on arms and back.  My legs are fairly muscular to begin with from playing soccer but  I have a lot of joint issues in my legs (arthritis and I dislocated my knee 2 months ago).  So for now as a far as legs are conscerned I only feel comfortable doing curls.  I know that's not much of variety for my legs but I feel like it's better then nothing.

I have some joint issues. (i.e. arthritis in my feet and left knee and I dislocated my right knee 2 months ago)

I'm nervous to start doing leg weights again (besides curls).  I can no longer do the leg press at least to my full potiental.  Last year I was doing 500 lb.  I developed arthritis about 2 weeks later.  Now I'm scared to do the leg press or squats at all, let alone the weight my muscles can actually lift.  I'm feeling a little discouraged.

Does anyone have suggestions?

Thanks this helps a lot.

So basically I want to constintly up the amount of weight I lift?

As far as the articles they confused me a bit.

So how do you do compound excercises?  I know probably a really stupid question but I think I'm more confused now after reading the article.

I think it's so hard to strike a happy medium.  Who in hollywood has a realistic healthy body?  J-Lo?  Beyonce?  Is even that too unrealistic?  Who would be good role model that people would say, "Hey, she looks healthy and realistic" ??  Weight is a double edged sword.  Too thin or too heavy is both considered unhealthy.  Even a "healthy" weight can be unhealthy if achived through an eating disorder.  As a person recovering from an ED I can say there is so much internal conflict when it comes to food and weight.  I think the fact that you can't just "quit food" like you can drinking or drugs makes it that much harder.  I wish the answer about this girl being attractive, healthy whatever was black and white but it's not.  I wish there was one easy solution and standard that everyone could follow but there is not.

I think the only person we can really worry about is ourselves.  I admit it does hurt when some critisizes this girl's looks because it only makes you second guess yourself and how your body looks.  I do think she is attractive but I can also understand why people are worried about her health.  I know I'm just rambeling.  I wish the answers were cut and dry.

As a medical professional I completely agree with mrsdagle about binges.  Though I'm not going to dish out professional advice on the internet.  That would be irresponsible.  Though my personal opinion is it's better to try other techniques before using eating to comfort you.  Just hang in there!!!

I'm really sorry for what you're going through.  I think a good way to restart is to clock your calories on here and drink lots of water.  I feel like clocking my calories on here no matter how bad the amount may get helps me stay in line.  Also when you feel tempted to binge or are just feeling depressed I would try a few distraction tools first.  Like get on here and read some forums they can be really motivating.  Is there something else you find comfort in? Like petting your dog or watching tv?  Try a few things like that before you allow yourself to eat.  Just remember there are lots of people here who would love to help.  Myself included.  So don't be afraid to reach out.  Good Luck!!  You can do it!!

If she is a UK 16 she's actually a 14 here in the US.  I agree she is pretty and that's great that she can be okay with herself.  Though I'm not sure if she is because I do think she is lying about her stats.  Unless these just happen to be pictures that don't do her justice at all.  I think she looks good but I don't think she's being honest. She looks bigger and heavier then what she claims.  Which to me means she really isn't okay with herself.   Also I understand the concern about "not promoting obesity" and the fine line between that and poor self esteem.  I just worry about health problems she may have in the future.  If she's healthy great!!  I just worrry as she ages her health will decline.  I can say that I got to the point that I didn't have the perfect body at all but was 100% okay with it.  Until my health started to decline.  PCOS, arthritis, etc.  So now I still like myself I just tell myself "If I really like myself, I'll do what's healthy for my body." (Doesn't always work but again I think its hard to stay motivated but not beat yourself up)

I don't think anyone should attack this girl or her looks but maybe question her health/future health.  I know that there are healthy people out there who might be considered overweight but I think there ar far more who are overweight and not healthy.  I'm including myself in that group too.

...well the scale has preset calorie amounts e.g. a cup of carrots=blank calories.  or 1/2 pound of paste=blank amount of calories.  You have a point though.  I just figured it might be easier but maybe not....

Meridia is for obese people.  Not someone who wants to lose 10 lbs.  Shame on your Dr. for giving you a script for that.

That's what I was thinking sck50.  Meridia sounds pretty extreme for someone who weighed 127....

Oh my, your little baby! What a cutie!!!

Anyway my victory today was going to olive garden and 1) not having any breadsticks and 2) not eating all of my entree because it was there.  I stopped when I was full!

No breadsticks at Olive Garden!!!  That is a huge victory!!! I'm jealous of your iron will.   I just have to turn down Olive Garden all together.

My personal victory was non food related:  I got EVERYTHING done that I said I would get done today!!!
