Yes, please don't give up because if you're like me you would end up gaining even more.

I did 20 min. on the treadmill 2 days ago, yesterday only 10 min. My goal is at least 10 min. and that goal gets me on the treadmill without fear of having  to do more than what I think I can handle at a time.

I've started parking my car a little further away in the parking lots to add steps to my day. Notice I said steps, not miles. That's how I lost before. Little by little.

Problem was, I quit too soon.  Not this time, Lord willing......

I'm still not making the BEST food choices, though. And I'm terrible at adding water to my day.

Where's that picture you "promised"?

I was going to send you a "happy birthday" even before you mentioned it as I had read your profile.

I don't like my pictures either. Why do you think I'm holding a BIG wreath? Doesn't it make me look smaller?

Thanks too, for not saying "you have such a pretty face". I Know what that impliesUndecidedI just received a gift card to Olive Garden myself.  I will have something great and totally enjoy it. I get mad at myself when I eat stupid stuff at  home that I don't really even want.  But I know if I don't allow myself a treat now and then I won't hang in for the long run. And I MUST hang in for the long run.

I hope you had a wonderful birthday. Wish we could meet for lunch and celebrate!

Fransen could join us.  Do you live close to her at all?

Today was my "official weigh-in. Down 3 lbs. Yay!!! I'm trying NOT to concentrate on the other 70 I need to lose. One day at a time and one pound at a time Right?

I plan to walk around the pond where I work. Like you Katelise, I lost alot before when I did the treadmill regularly. I just told myself I would do 10 minutes and I ended up doing 20 or 30.

I didn't do so great when we went out to eat yesterday, but I sure can feel it in my body and I can tell a difference when I make the wrong vs. the right choices so that's a good indicator that it really does feel better to eat healthy.

I'm off caffeine, I've changed whites to wheats, no desserts. ( in fact I'm going to throw away that open bag of chocolate chips in the cabinet) and I'm adding more fruits and veggies. I CAN do this. So can " ya'll " ( Texan, for you guys)

I'm in South Carolina. Last week it was 70 degrees. Yesterday it was 30. Seemed like a good excuse not to walk. Although I do have a treadmill in my garage, a pedometer, walking shoes, and legs so I guess it's a crummy excuse!

 Did you see the Oprah show about what a lb. of fat actually looks like? It looks alot worse than a bag of flourLaughing.

just think of size of a pound of ground beef.  So three or four of those isn't so bad to lose, but it sure is alot to gain......

What have you done today to make you feel proud? I'm trying to think of that question rather than how I messed up my choices for the day. And I'm trying to be thankful for all the choices I do have ( even though the gourmet chocolates are 75% off) I did walk by them even though i wanted to check them out. You see, I'm not just fat, I'm cheap!!!!

thanks for the info fransen. This is new to me so I welcome the input Laughing I would LOVE to encourage and be encouraged by you. Nothing like a friend (even a new one!) who understands the struggle.

How about adding a 55 yr. old southerner to your buddy list? I've got 75 lbs. to lose and am determined to follow through. I sure need friends who can relate. Philippians 4:13.
