 I am very discouraged. I stayed under my calorie range all week and drank water. I don't get it! Other people lose 3 and 4 lbs a week, and I haven't lost a THING since last Wednesday. I am very discouraged. I feel like crying. I even went out to dinner last night and had a healthy salad and no dessert. I am going to cut my calories from 1750 to 1500 if I can live on that and see what happens. I will try to work out 3 times this week.

Lost 1.5 lb

 

I am very discouraged. I know I should be happy that the scale is going down, but I worked really hard last week. I had less than my calories each day, drank my water....I am going to cut calories to 1500, weigh only once a week, and try to work out 3 times this week. I just thought I would see at least 2 lbs! I think my metabolism must be very slow.

Hey, all!

I will not weigh in each day again! It is too hard for me to deal with gaining .5 lb of water or whatever when I thought I did well. I've been thinking about what mrskeith was saying. I think the emotional issues do have something to do with this, at least for me. I have to think about that. I wonder if I have been using the issues almost as a subconscious acceptance or rationale for my eating. Just my .02!

 I think I am eating too many calories each day. I am allowed 1750. That seems like way too much. And, the "estimated goal date" is on October 2009. Does that sound right? I know I did not gain the weight over night but my goodness!

Shoe,

I am also lacto-ovo, but I rely (maybe I should say have relied, as I am changing my way of life!) on carbs and cheese and processed veggie foods. I have trouble coming up with healthy quick veggie options. I'd love to share recipes!

How is everyone doing today? I am at work and stressed and haven't planned dinner for tonight...and that is what gets me. I have to think of something healthy to have so I don't sabotage things!

Here is my intro! My name is Paula and I am 36 years old. From the time I was a small child I had weight issues. I was successful once at Weight Watchers but when I got stressed I reverted- and gained it all back. I now weigh 233 and am 5"8. I felt really good at 145 or so...and my goal is 145. 

I'm sick of people thinking I'm older than I am, having to buy ugly clothes, having my administrative assistant refer to me as a "large person", feeling like I am going to have a heart attack at any minute, feeling like a bad role model to my kids, and not feeling healthy or strong or attractive. I've begun and failed on so many diets that I don't have much faith in myself to be able to lose weight. However, someone I know struggled with weight and she said that she just had to realize it was something she would always have to deal with. That was interesting to me--- she wasn't ashamed or sad, just pretty matter of fact.

I'm watching portion sizes and trying to eat less carbs.

My DD has a peanut allergy. She is allergic to contact (she doesn't have to eat it to have an anaphylaxis reaction...she has reacted to touching something someone who ate peanuts touched). However, it could be worse- we are lucky! 

I am looking for a less stressful job. The next two months are going to be almost unbearably stressful, but then things should even out. I am hoping to find something to give me some balance so I have time to take care of me, too.

 I have a really hard time getting up to exercise (it just isn't going to happen!)...I know a lot of you are busier than I am. How do you fit in exercise? How often do you weigh?

I have a secret fantasy (kind of funny since I have bad knees and can't even manage to walk!) that I will run in a marathon. I hate running, but I think that would feel pretty amazing! I'd be happy, however, to feel strong and not worry I will keel over with a heart attack at any moment!

Maybe too much info...I'll be quiet!

I'm 36...about to be 37...and have 90 to lose. It is time to take care of us...I bet most of us take care of others and do little for ourselves.

I have close to 90 lbs I have to lose...but 100 would be amazing. I am overwhelmed with this...but I'd like to join in, too. I can't believe I have gotten this big. I don't realize how I look until I see a picture  and I hate it! Count me in!

I am also new to the group. To dieting, nah...I've been losing and gaining weight my whole life! I am currently 233 and would like to be 140 one day...but it's been so long since I weighed under 200 I forget what it is like! Heck, being under 220 has been so long I forget what it is like

I have 3 kids and a husband and work 10-12 hour days. I have a child with a food allergy so I do a lot of cooking for the family. I hate exercise, and I have a hard time getting up early when I go to bed at 12:00 or so.

I want to lose weight to feel and be healthy, and to feel good about my self, and to look nice!I don't want to wear clothes with an "X" for the size anymore.

I look forward to getting to know all of you!
