I was in the exact same boat as you. I gained 15 less pounds this time, only 30 in all and it's to soon to tell for sure but I think my stomach won't look any worse than it did before based on how it looks right now. I do breastfeed and have started walking and will start other exercise after my six weeks is up. I have also bought a spanx bodyshaper and it really sucks my stomach in. Good luck. |

I will be 13 weeks later this week with my 2nd. I was doing Cathe Frederick step routines and weight lifting regularly before becoming pregnant. However, I did that in the mornings and once that 1st trimester fatigue hit (I also work full time teaching and take 2 night classes) I switched to the morning workouts only 2x a week and walking every day that I'm home and the weather's nice. My doctor told me to not lift more than 20 pounds and not to do high impact exercise so I felt better about cutting out on the step and down on the weight lifting. I would be iffy on the jogging but I suppose others have done it successfully. Just my opinion. I know you're very small so I'm sure you don't burn many calories except for the jogging but 1100 seems like it wouldn't be enough, 1700 more appropriate. I tried to meet my maintenance calories each day for about the 1st month and then decided I just wanted to focus on eating healthier and getting in all my vitamins and nutrients. I found a link on the mypyramid.gov website for new moms. They customize your nutritional needs to meet your due date, height, and pre-pregnacy diet. Now I just keep a food journal on this site and try to make sure I meet my daily requirements for all the food groups and stay away from junk. I think that is working well for me since I hate obsessing over calories while pregnant. I started showing at 4 months with my 1st but have been wearing maternity clothes for almost a month now this time around. Everything I've read says with your uterus and stomach muscles already being stretched out after the 1st yhu tend to pop out sooner with the 2nd. So far I have only gained 3 pounds and I haven't been sick, just HUNGRY! Just curious, what are the two pregnancy DVD's you have that actually make you break a sweat. The ones I had purchased last pregnancy didn't do much for me.

Just read in my abnormal psychology text that a girl's ideal weight is much lower than a male's ideal weight for a girl. Men tend to like women with some meat on their bones and some curves. I know mine does. Black women know that and that is why the risk of eating disorders is so much lower for them. It would be nice when the rest of us (including the media) realize that too. |

Thank you so much for saying 1200 is low and hard to stick to. I just went to the doctor today to see if my thyroid is underactive. I gained 10 pounds in 2 months and in three months I have only lost 5 of it. I exercise faithfully (Cathe Frederick videos and pilates) 45 minutes daily, sometimes more if the weather is nice enough to take a walk. I'm a teacher so I'm on my feet walking around most of the day so I'm not that sedentary. My doctor implied that it's not probably not my thyroid (although he won't know for sure until my lab results come back) and that I should cut my calories to 1200. It is hard enough for me to stay in the 1500-1700 range. In the past, I have always lost the normal pound a week eating 1800 calories. Needless to say, I'm hoping it's my thyroid so I can take a pill and these stubborn pounds will come off and so I don't have to go down to 1200 a day. |

I got the free trial and posted a thread about it recently. It did absolutely nothing for me. Not even cleasing, I don't think. I actually gained weight because I quit counting calories. |

OK, I'm guessing that this 3500 calorie deficit is a week, right, not a day? |

I gained 50 with my first and that was even with exercise, but I was never sick. I walked, and I had some a couple of pregnancy pilates videos that I used. I'm trying for my second at the moment and am hoping that already being in the habit of counting calories will help me not to gain as much weight next pregnancy. |

Have you ever used a colon cleanser? I don't know what else to recommend. Hopefully someone else will have more insight. |

I want to get P90X after I have my next baby, reading all the replies about it totally confirms it. For now, I DVR Cathe's workouts totally free off FitTV. I do a strength training 2-3 times a week, and cardio every other day. I also fit in pilates at least 1x a week and her abs/stretch videos for a few minutes every day. |

That is too cool! Thanks for sharing. I love it as well but tend to only get in it in once a week or so since I try to focus more on cardio, weight training, and pilates. Another option for all you yoga lovers if you have a DVR is to tape Namaste Yoga off FitTV. Besides Cathe Fredrick it's what I do religiously and I love it. The shows are only 30 minutes and the sequence of exercises is great. I think it's a great option for people like me who live in a rural area away from gyms and have little ones so you can work out when they're sleeping. |

I totally agree udokier, but the taste may be a little strong for someone not accustomed to it. I'm a quarter Japanese so that's the way I've always drank it. If you eat Japanese food regularly I would suggest ordering it there first to see if you like it before buying a pot. However, they typically had rice flower to it which I don't like as well as regular green tea. |

I'm looking at your pictures and I'm thinking you don't need to lose any more weight. I thought maybe you were short when I saw how much you weighed but then saw you are as tall as me 5'5". I think you look fantastic as are. More weight loss would be too much but that's my opinion as my goal weight is 135. Best of luck. |
