I agree with melkor, start with small steps. If you like Tony, and want to move up to P90X, do P90 for at least a month or two before moving up to P90X.  The X isn't for beginners, but when you're ready, you're body will be transformed in 90 days!

Good luck with your fitness goals!  Send me a message if you have any questions about P90 or Ten Minute Trainer.

I started on the 15th with start it up.  I did it a few years ago and lost a great deal of weight and toned up wonderfully.  I would like a wotk out buddy.  I dont have the schedule and need to know precisely

How many days do i do each routine?

How many times a day?  I think it was twice on some weeks.  If someone could give me the exact outline it would be greatly appreciated.  I have a two month old and want to get back in shape.  I am currently 265 but I love 2 workout.

Hi Cgirl! The recommended outline for SI6 is 2 days of Start it Up, 10 days of Ramp it Up, and 24 days of Burn it Up.  You workout only once a day, 6 days a week.  You can find workout buddies on the beachbody site!  There's a lot of support there!

Good luck with your fitness goals!

I started the Slim in 6 .. Yesterday was my first day and i did the "Start it up" Section which was 30 min. Am i supposed to do this section everyday for the next two weeks? because there are three parts.. So my question is am i supposed to do every section for two weeks? I"m confused.. Any help would be great.

It's designed for you to do SIU for 2 days, then move up to RIU for 10 days, and then BIU for 24 days.  Good luck with your fitness goals.  I got great results with SI6!

Hi JLC,

I'm not sure which TJ version you have, but the Max results package has an introductory workout that shows the moves and provides index cards with her basic moves.  I didn't feel much in my abs either, but I took before and after pics and I could definitely see the difference in the shape of my waist.  Please refer to my success pics in my gallery to see my turbo jam results after 4 weeks.  It's the third pic of the 4 progress pics in my 4 month cycle.

I'm sorry I couldn't be more help.  For more info, log on to the beachbody site discussion forum and you can ask there also.

Good luck with your fitness goals and btw, it's wonderful that you have a supportive BF!

I'm glad that you posted!  I am much older, so I burn fewer calories, even with maximum intensity.  Your info will help so many of the younger folks.  Thanks!

Hi Jenn,

I haven't had any problems ordering any of the beachbody products and I've been ordering them regularly since January (workouts, supplements, replacement shakes and protein bars).  I usually get my stuff within 10 days from ordering.  I think the soonest I've gotten something is 5 days and the longest is 10 days.  It depends on what day your order.  Ordering on Fri, Sat, or Sun takes a bit longer.

Please consider me when you place your order.  I get a small commission if you order through my siteSmile.

Good luck with your decision!  Contact me anytime.

Kimberly

P.S.  My new pics are in my gallery if you want to see my latest results.

Hi Snidely!

The is the schedule for SI6:  2 days of SIU, 10 days of RIU and 24 days of BIU.

If you haven't worked out lately, you will be extremely sore after your first and second workout.  Resist the urge to take your rest day early.  I lot of people do this thinking they'll wait until they're not sore anymore, and they never start again.  Just power through the soreness.  By the end of the first week you will hardly feel any soreness and actually begin feeling stronger!

Be sure to follow the Eat and Burn meters here so you are not  working out in vain.  No sense working out and sweating your butt off, if you're not going to lose weight!

Thank you for the compliment!  I'm 44, so I'm not giving you a break on losing your marblesLaughing Sorry.Tongue out

Good luck with your fitness goals and remember that I am a Beachbody Coach, so please consider me when you order supplements and other workouts because I receive a small commission.

Weight Loss New to Calorie Count - Need help - 200lbs 1,650 calories???? Apr 30 2008

Hi Ella,

Is that the number of calories you burn a day or the number of calories it said for you to eat in order to lose weight?  if that's the number of calories you need to lose weight then it may seem like a lot of calories but that number will go down as you lose weight.  You don't have to eat that many, but don't eat less than 1200.

The burn meter shows how many calories you burn in a day.  If you do activities, add those on.

You want to have more calories on your burn meter than your eat meter to lose weight.

Hi lyric,

If you contact teambeachbody com customer service and ask them for the diet plan and other info, they will send you a pdf file with the info!!

I burn about 425 calories doing BIU, giving it 99%.  But I'm older, and the older you are, the fewer calories you burn.

As far as the eating, you shouldn't eat 3 hours before you go to bed!  It's really a matter of willpower and like any addiction, it can be a difficult habit to break.  The tools on this website as far as the burn meter and eat meter, are invaluable tools that have helped me with my success.

My advice would be to find out how many calories you are supposed to eat to lose weight, based on the info given to you on this website.  Then plan your calories that you're going to eat, in advance.  If you like eating your calories at night, then eat accordingly during the day.  Have a 200 calorie breakfast and a 200 calorie lunch, a couple of 50 calorie snacks, and that will still give you about 1000 calories that you can save up and eat at bedtime.  It's not the smartest way to go, but you would still lose weight.

It's harsh to say, but you can workout everyday, but if you're eating more calories than you're burning, you will not lose weight. The shape of your body will change and that's about it.

I'm not sure if I helped or not.  Sorry.  Good luck with your fitness goals!

Hi jlc,

My name is Kimberly and I'm an independent Beachbody Coach.  The Fat Burning Elite Package is a bit more challenging than the Max. Results Package, but they are both very good cardio workouts.  Turbo Sculpt in Max. Results, uses hand weights for its resistance work and 3T in Fat Burning Elite uses resistance bands so if you have a personal preference, that should help you make your decision.

As far as an over all body workout, I would recommend Slim in 6 or Power 90.  They incorporate cardio and resistance at the same time.  They are very structured workouts and are repetitive, but they are very effective.

I posted my pics in my gallery.  The after pic is after 6 weeks of Slim in 6.  I will be finishing another round of SI6 on Sunday and plan on posting new pics.

Good luck with your fitness goals!  If you have any other questions, send me a message.

Hi vcacherylr,

Slim in 6 is a 6 week structured workout routine.  It is designed for quick results and is an extremely challenging program.  There are 3 phases and SIU or Start it Up is Phase 1.

If you click on my picture and then my gallery in my profile, you can see my 6 week results.  I will be finishing my second round this Sunday and I hope to have lost another 13 pounds during this round!

To find other SI6 threads, go to forums and type in Slim in 6, in the search box.  If you have any more questions, you can send me a message!

Good luck with your fitness goals!

Hi ananda,

Congratulations on finishing SIU!!  That's terrific!  You're doing great!  This is my advice:  A lot of people are afraid to move up to RIU because they are unable to complete SIU.  Basically, SIU is designed to get you warmed up and familiar with some of the moves.  My suggestion would be to move up!  At first, you will not be able to complete the moves.  Do not worry!  When you get tired, just march in place until you catch your breath OR if marching in place is too much, just step slowly from side to side but keep moving.  Your stamina will increase gradually.  The most important thing is to follow debbie's form and keep your knees in line with your ankles.  Finishing the workout, even if you're just marching in place the entire time is better than quitting!!!!

Remember what I said about being sore!  You may want to take a rest day because you can hardly walk, but don't!  Power through it.  The soreness will go away.  I promise.

KPP!

Hi Everyone,

I have 12 workouts left!  I'm so close to my goal weight too!  Just 6.5 pounds to go.  I think that's too much to lose in 2 weeks, but hopefully I'll lose another 4 pounds by the end of SI6.

Keep up the good work everyone!

Hi ananda,

Congratulations on starting SI6!  Great job trying to do SIU!!  If you're having trouble keeping up, don't give up!  Just step from side to side slowly, until you catch your breath, then start again, at your own pace.  Try to finish the entire routine.  This will help you build the stamina you need to finish SIU.  You're going to get better and better.  You might be really sore at first.  I could hardly walk for about a week, but then the soreness goes away and you start to feel stronger!

If you have any questions, post them here or send me a message, ok

KPP (keep pushing play)!

Hi Christa,

Welcome to the boards!  Congratulations on doing the kick start!  Chalene's smoothies in the plan are so yummy.  I check these threads fairly often, but if you like daily support and inspiration, head on over to the teambeachbody forums for TJ and you'll find people working out and posting everyday.  It really works for me.

Good luck with finding shoes.  I don't like my running shoes either.  I want to get a pair of Nike Shox like Chalene.

Hi Kell,

I like CP1 better than PKJ (Punch, Kick and Jam). I just felt like I was burning more calories. But I only did it once and I wasn't used to the weight gloves.

You're like me, wanting to know how many calories I'm burning!  I want to know exactly how many calories I'm burning! I really varies so much, ya know? It's around 250 for Turbo Sculpt, 350 for CP1 and a little more for PKJ because it's longer. The infomercials say that you can burn up to 1000 calories per hour, but I I don't know what age group and weight range of person they're talking about.

I know you're in high school or something like that, but if there's any way you could afford a Polar F4 heart monitor, you'd know exactly what you're burning and you'd have peace of mind. They cost around $90. You can find them cheaper for sure, but they might not be as accurate. Read the reviews on Amazon and other places you might find a good one for less and if you get one BE SURE that it has a calorie counter!! Lot's of heart monitors don't have a calorie counter.

You're welcome peachlovehominy!Wink  You're knees will thank you too!  Make sure to get a comfortable pair.  With my new running shoes, I found that when I was doing Turbo Sculpt that my toes would get squished up into the front of my shoes sometimes which was really annoying.  That's why I'm wearing my old ones.

Hi Christa,

Congrats on starting TJ!  I was falling all over the place for the first 5 or 6 times.  I finally got my arms to coordinate with my kicks.Laughing  I always wear shoes.  I just think it's a good idea to have support for your ankles and feet with all the jarring moves.  If you're young, you don't notice the miles you're putting on your feet and ankles, but you'll thank yourself when you're 40 if you've worn shoes.  Chalene uses Nike Shox.  They're probably expensive and I've never priced them.  I use a pair of old running shoes.  They have plenty of cushion left and they're actually more comfy than my new running shoes for doing TJ workouts.

Hi Syrah,

If you're recommending SI6 to your friends, don't forget to tell them to go through my site when they order it!Smile

The calories burned really depends on your height, weight an age. I set my heart monitor with my personal settings. For BIU, depending on my intensity, it was 322 when I wasn't feeling well (low leg front kicks and not going down as far in my squats lunges and plies) and 437 when I was giving it 100%. for 6 pack and S&L I burned about 40-45 calories each for those.

I'm glad you're doing so well with SI6! It totally changed my body. Did you see my before and after pics?

I'm on Week 3, Day 6, this time around. I missed one day last Saturday, so I'll have to make that up. I'm on BIU right now. It's a tough workout, but gives awesome results!

Hi Leslie,

I did Biu and 6pack today.  This is Week 3, Day 2.  Only 22 more days of BIU!  It is a lot harder!  I was sore this morning, mostly in my quads and sides.  I did everything all the way through today, but with less emphasis than normal.  I think I might be getting a bug.  I hope not!

Hi allisonlynne! Did they give you the Actvit Metabolism Formula for free! That's awesom. Activit is a multi vitamin, but it also has greet tea and L-Carnitine to support metabolism and fat loss! I take them everyday with the Slimming Formula. To me, they're worth it because not only am I improving my health, I'm also accelerating my fat loss and that's a big plus for me!

KPP everyone!

Kimberly

edit:  I completed Week 3, Day 1 today with BIU.  I missed Week 2, Day 6 on Saturday, so I'll have to make it up at the end.

Hi Syrah,

You shouldn't eat at least 3 hours before you go to bed. So my advice is not to eat after you workout at night.
