Hi girls... I totally fell off the wagon :o( My two explanations for this are 1 .... I work 2 jobs and I'm taking grad classes ... which means I'm running around like a NUT and just GRAB food ... Number 2 ... I eat bigger portions than I'm supposed to. Argh ... is anyone else dealing with this? I don't want to be a bummer .... I just want advice on some grab 'n go snacks. Thanks in advance! I have been trying to switch to skim too ... I have to make that my next goal. I like your idea of drinking water to counteract the caffiene. I just hate being in the bathroom all day! I agree with the string cheese ... even if i peel off one strand of cheese at a time ... it isn't satisfying enough .... I'm going to stick with the fruit ...ooo I remem ber when I was doing south beach I had celery stuffed with laughing cow cheese. And, i totally do not think it's weird that it has more to do with having something in your hands. I think that is what it is with the coffee for me too ... it's the whole experience ... smelling it, sipping it ... holding a big mug of it in my hands .... it's a comforting sensory explosion! :o) |

Sarah ... are you weighing yourself frequently? If so ... DON'T!!!!!!!!! Also, if you are working out, especially with weights you are gaining muscle ... DON'T GET DISCOURAGED ... the first two weeks on a diet ARE TERRIBLE! If you can get through these two weeks you'll be in good shape (no pun intended!) Have you been journaling all of your calories? Doing so has been a reality check for me! Hang in there! |

Hi everyone ... I am 29, 5'3" and weigh 152 lbs. I am from new jersey. I started last week and lost 4 pounds already which is pretty cool! I got married in september and weighed an even 140 on my wedding day .... ideally I would like to weigh 135 but I'll be happy being back at 140. The most frustrating thing about my body is I have tiny arms and tiny legs and a big midsection and that is what I am trying to get rid of. Calorie Counter told me to eat 1800 calories per day, which I thought was sort of high so I am shooting for the 1200-1300 range. Last week I was pretty cranky and hungry and moody. I have gotten more used to it this week. I have a question for you girls though ... I know ideally you are supposed to eat 6 small meals per day ... or 3 meals with snacks .... but calorie wise how do you fit in snacks? I have no room for snacks. And, I have to admit I am a coffee addict. I'd rather blow my calories on an afternoon coffee than a snack. Should I kick that habit? Well, it's been great reading all of your posts. Good luck to all those getting married! Planning my wedding was SOOOOOO much fun! Hi everyone! Just wondering ... when is your weigh day? Did you make it a Monday morning or a Friday morning? My hubby thinks b/c we allow ourselves to "cheat" a bit on the weekends that we should weigh ourselves Friday morning instead ... but isn't that cheating too???? Anyway, Swurtzba, what are you eating that keeps you on a 1200 calorie diet without finding yourself hungry? I have to know!!!! I've been making recipies from the South Beach Diet cook book and from Joy Bauer's 90/10 diet. They all are yummy so far. I'm having a problem with lunchtime. I need to pick quick, easy foods that unfortunatley have to be wheat free ... I can't eat wheat w/in 4-6 hours of a work b/c of allergies. :o( What do you guys eat for lunch? Happy losing! :o) |

So .... how did the day go for everyone? I am feeling a bit down on myself b/c I took way too big of a portion of rice with dinner. Why is this making me crazy right now? I don't know ....... Oh wait I know ... b'cause I just looked in the mirror and saw my fat stomach that is why! AHHHHH!!! I ate great all day ... was even a little too hungry. I haven't even counted my calories yet. And, me and hubby did 4 laps (walking) around this HUGE park in our town. Maybe it wasn't so bad afterall! Hope you guys are feeling more up than I am! I hate Mondays! Zabrina |

Good Morning! I was wondering for those of you are have Celiac, what prompted you to go the the doctor to get tested? I have recently been told by my allergist that I suffer from a wheat allergy that is exercise related. Meaning if I workout within 4-6 hours of eating wheat, I break out in hives and can potentially go into anaphalactic shock! I now have to carry an epi-pen with me wherever I go. I went on the celiac website this weekend and after reading the symptoms, it seems that I have many of them. How do you get tested? What if I am completely over reacting? |

Good Morning Sarah! I am feeling the same way as you do! I am 29! I was married in September and my hubby and I have BOTH gained weight since the wedding! The silly thing is, I felt "fat" in my size 8 jeans and now that I am forced to wear a size larger, those size 8's don't seem so bad afterall! Anyway, I am looking to weigh 135, by my birthday in June. What are your goals? I am trying to convince some of my girlfriends to sign up on here too!
