Hi Everyone! long time since I posted last.

Its been a VERY, VERY stressful time for me.  I have started GRAD school full time plus working full time (and have not found time for the gym) My husband and I are seperating and its been extremely draining on my emotions.

With all that.  I only have 15 pounds to go and will try to get back to the gym when summer session starts.

At 19 years and almost 6 feet tall and slightly overweight, let me tell you that some people had called me the gentle giant.  I thought no guy would ever want me and I would never be pretty/slim enough.  But by the time I left college I had transformed into someone who is pretty happy in my own skin and the confidence is still growing almost 10 years later.  I have a wonderful husband and am starting to love my more mature look.

Confindence for me, grew because I actively sought it out in myself--if that makes any sense.

Hi all.  Hope everyone is having a good week.  Some girls and my office are doing a 6 week competition to lose the greatest % of body weight.  The winner gets a massage paid for by the others. 


I haven't put my weight for the last 2 weeks.  I was at 196.8.  Saw 196.2 a few times quickly followed by 197.8 and 197.4

I think I am going to take a break from weighing myself since I'm super motivated with the competition at work and maybe be nicely surprised on May 9.

Who knows.  I might not have the discipline to NOT weigh myself.  I've become addicted.


Hope everyone is having a great time and gearing up for an even better weekend.

Very good news for you!

 Thanks.  I'm now only 23 pounds away from goal.  Who knows when I'll hit it.  This weekend my husband took some pictures of me--and it was some of the best pics I have had in awhile.  Probably my most rewarding feeling since losing 16 pounds--and definitely motivating for me as well.

Glad you had a happy Easter.

Hi Diva,

I've been in a slightly similar situation.  When I first met my husband--he wanted to me to gain weight--I was no where near being underweight--but in a healthy BMI.  I did gain wegiht--obviously too much--so I'm hoping to get back to my wedding weight--which was then 10  pounds more then I would have liked to be.  But I know my hubby was happiest with that weight and I still looked good--so that is now my goal weight.

Its your own personal decision--but I know my husband wants to see my curves.  And is not attracted to stick thin women.  So in my case-my goal weight is somewhat defined by husband.

Hold that thought! The 3x/week gym time is working with my RL workout buddies. Very motivating even when it is freezing out, I still go becuase they are expecting me. I didn't weigh in last week because of travel and the normal monthly weight gain. I expect to see a decrease from 2 weeks ago when I weigh in this Friday.

I'm happy to see everyone and that people are still working towards our goals! Well done, folks!

 

That's exactly how I got back into the routine of going to the gym--knowing that one of my coworkers was getting up early to meet me there.  We don't hardly meet together any more.  But I still go.  Sometimes we just need a little accountablity.

Good Morning!

Had a bad eating day yesterday. I didn't go over maintenance, but I sure had a lot of sugar.

When I was my most healthiest and strong, I would do Callenetics--the most cheesiest workout video there is--complete with the instructor sporting a fake British accent.  But my core became so strong and she really works on developing long and lean muscles.  Maybe I'll go to the library and see if I can find a DVD.

Fasting isn't easy. my husband and I fast every Wednesday morning till noon.  Sometimes its really hard.

I've been craving a medium rare filet mignon and a twice baked potato. I always crave this.  I think I might be low on iron.

Yay!!!  Maybe I will reach my goal of being under 200 pounds by March 1st. Woo Hoo!!! Still can't believe I let myself get over 200 in the first place.  Was about a year ago that I first realized I had gotten over the 200 pound mark.

I view myself in the mirror like a typical male.  I always think I look better/skinnier then I actually am--which is how I think I let myself baloon to 212 in the first place.  Until I saw some real unflattering photos. Anybody else like me? In that my mind told me I really hadn't just gained 45 pounds in 2 years.

This topic is great!

When hubby and I were dating he told me he wanted me to gain weight...I told him that would be no problem!! He also said I was "very encouraging from the behind."

When I started gaining weight, I would complain and he would get mad at me.  Then when I started gaining too much weight he was scared to say anything.  It is only now, that he sees I'm actually starting to lose again that he is teasing me about weighing more than him.  But its nothing that makes me feel bad. I know he appreciates my efforts and weight loss to date.

I'm 5'11". Currently 202. My goal is 170-175. I KNOW I look good at that weight. I have been down to 155, but although I was nice and toned, I really felt like I looked like a boy. Give me some curves any day. I also want to just fit comfortably in a size 12.

Since it is bonus time here for me i am going to make an investment in my weightloss efforts.  I plan to buy a pretty nifty food scale that I saw online, where you can program in the food types and based on the weight it will spit out the # of calories for you!  Totally what i need!!!  And I am buying a new scale, so I will be surfing CC today to see what everyone recommends...  feel free to share! :)

A new scale sounds cool.  I steeped on the scale today and saw 202.  I was shocked to lose 2.6 pounds in less then a week.  We'll see if I stay that low on offical weigh in day or if it was a fluke.  I also have NOT made it to the gym this week and it looks like today will not work either.  Although my eating has been alright.

Congrats on everyone's weight loss. 

Me, I've been sick and gained. Although I think its water weight mostly.  I saw 203.8.  Stayed mostly in the low 204s and then this morning wighed in at 205.6.  I'll give an official weigh in next week as I'm finally back on track this week.

That sounds like it really hurts.  My fail safe way to get rid of canker sores is powdered alum.  That hurts more than kiwis.

Well, this week by far has been my best as fat as diet and excercise goes.  I don't feel like dying after the gym, nor have I been snacking mindlessly when I get home from work.  I feel good! Hope everyone has a great day

Good morning!

It will be hard to log everything I eat.  But I'll do it.  I'm up 0.6 of a pound this week.  I have a feeling I'll be about this same weight for awhile while I'm building some muscle.  I went to the gym 4 times last week (which was my goal) but I ate at maintenance (or more) for quite a few days too.  So maybe logging all my food will help.

Good Morning!

 I'm getting more fruit in.  Last night I had a mini binge, my first one since I started and it put me over my calorie goal, which is already pretty high.  It wasn't as bad as it could have been-but still I don't want to repeat it.  The problem was, my mind told me I was 'starving' after going to the gym--but I really know I could have just eaten a light supper and still not go to bed hungry.  This is going to be my real challenge--not overeating on workout days.

I used to do the VHS at my friend's house.  It really strengthened my core.  I think I'm going to go look for a DVD now. Thanks for the reminder.
