| Foods | diet soda | Aug 28 2008 15:50 (UTC) |

I have been so worried about this lately. I read an article that said like, if you drink even ONE can of diet soda you are like 35%-45% more likely to become obese. I have lost a lot of weight already while drinking diet soda, but for some reason, for days and days I couldn't stop freaking out about it everytime I drank one. And I understand that apparently it makes you want to eat more food after, so thats why you gain the weight, but if I don't eat, how can it really hurt me? I drink kind of a lot I think, normally 3 cans a day of either Sprite Zero or Diet Cherry Coke. Now having read this thread I feel better about drinking it. |

| Weight Loss | Weight loss without exercise... opinions/thoughts/experiences? | Aug 28 2008 15:46 (UTC) |

I started out by eating about 1200-1500 calories per day with about 25-30 mins of cardio everyday, but February-May I had some surgeries done and was unable to exercise, and oddly enough, I lost more weight, my eating was about the same though, it might have been because of tghe surgery though, but now that I've lost a lot of weight, I'm getting kind of lazy, healthy eating isn't really a problem for me, just the exercise, but I find I still lose weight just fine without exercise. |

In my opinion, I would eat something, even if all you have is a candy bar. You will continue to burn more fat if your metabolism is going, if you don't eat more, you will obviously burn less. So it's wise to eat something. |

Sorry but, if you think this way you are going to end up having an eating disorder, or at least an unhealthy relationship with food. One meal is not going to mess you up by any means. I do it occasionaly, just yesterday I ate a Big Mac meal from McDonalds, yeah I don't feel good about it, but I'm back on my diet and healthy eating and plan to burn off those extra calories over the next few days. No worries. It's ok to mess up now and again! =) |

I normally go for fat free sugar free ice cream, SO GOOD, or I have one of those 100 cal pack popcorns, they come with a lot and tide me over well! |

| Weight Loss | Does Over-eating just make you want to eat more? | Aug 21 2008 20:55 (UTC) |

Sorry but... isn't everyone like this!?? I don't know anyone who doesn't have an occasional bingefest, lol. Usually once or twice a week for me, I try to tell myself to eat a small amount or until I am no longer hungry, but I slip up and eat and eat until I just can't anymore. We are human, and I know we all do it, I think it's ok to slip up now and again, aslong as it's not a habit, then you will gain weight eventually. |

| Weight Loss | deficit... | Aug 21 2008 20:51 (UTC) |

Wow, I wish I could burn 4000 cals a day! Anyway, I think if you make a habit of this your body will become exhausted, but this is only my opinion, I am not a doctor. I don't seem to have this problem though, occasionally I burn over 2500 so I allow myself to eat more. But if you are not hungry, I don't see why you should force yourself, you could always try having something small but high in fat and protein, like a protein bar, considering that you workout so much anyway. |

| Weight Loss | Scared to go over 1200 cal/day | Aug 21 2008 05:21 (UTC) |

1200 calories is ok to eat occasionally, sometimes I forget to eat or don't have time, and end up eating like 800 calories, but the next day I'll eat like 2000, or something. It matters in the long run, aslong as you don't make a habit of it, nothing bad will happen. |

| Weight Loss | After Losing Weight, How are People Treating You Differently? Good or Bad? | Aug 19 2008 00:36 (UTC) |

I find that guys are nicer to me, so far I haven't noticed women treating me any differently, but guys do, and it really bothers me. As much as I like guys checking me out and hitting on me, even my own friends are nicer to me, and it makes me feel like I was a disease when I was fat or something.. =/ |

| Weight Loss | 114 lbs down, 16 lbs to go! | Aug 17 2008 23:12 (UTC) |

Original Post by nannoogrl: It's changed overtime, but currently I consume 1500, burn about 2500. I have a personal trainer now, but I only have had her for about a month, before then I did all my own cardio. I have some areas I need to work on though, my gut and arms are pretty flabby so that's why I hired her to tone me up a bit, but the weightloss is all on me. To be honest, I don't focus on anything but calories, people try to complicate eating healthy, by saying things like... you need to have this much protein... and you can't eat this much sugar.. or other carbs... I ONLY look at calories, I don't pay attention to sodium or anything else, I have yet to care about those things, and I've lost a lot of weight. Obviously it's smarter to eat something like an apple, rather than chips, but aslong as I stay at 1500 a day, I allow myself to eat whatever I want, as much fat as I want... cholesterol... whatever, it doesn't matter to me. And doing it this way makes things easy and allows me to eat a lot more of a variety, and I still have been losing 2 pounds per week my entire weightloss. Thank you for your nice comment!! Anything else you would like to know, please ask! |

| Weight Loss | Body Fat % way more than BMI...??? | Aug 16 2008 23:51 (UTC) |

Figuring out your body fat percentage online is terrible! For my height and weight, gender, age all that, it says my body fat percentage is close to 27%, but I hired a personal trainer a few weeks ago and she took all my proper measurements, and my body fat percentage is 32%!!! I was shocked and upset. Even she was shocked, I only weigh 165 pounds, and 32% fat is alot for weighing so little, that means I basically have no muscle and a lot of fat! Oh well, I am working on getting rid of it once and for all! |

| Weight Loss | How much of a calorie deficit do you usually have? | Aug 03 2008 20:30 (UTC) |
11 |
I don't know, it's so hard to tell how much calories I burn during the day, I guess that on work days I burn about 3000 total, so i consume nearly 2000, on days off I imagine I burned close to my BMR since I don't do much on those days, so I eat a lot less and exercise a bit more. I find losing weight and eating healthy is easy, but I have yet to figure out how much I burn, its so hard to figure up. |

| Weight Loss | Burning More Calories Through Exercise Than Calories Consumed | Aug 03 2008 05:23 (UTC) |

Wow. If you are burning as much as you say, you can get away with eating A LOT more food, you should not have a deficit of more than 1000 cals, I don't go over 500. I believe 500 is the healthiest way to go about it. |

Of course, that happens to most women who use birth control, it has to do with hormones, your boobs get bigger when you start on it, and will get smaller if you discontinue use. |

Wouldn't you rather buy new clothes because the one's you have now are too big? Or too small? I choose too big! I lost over 100 pounds and was buying new pants constantly, I hated spending so much money, but it also felt good looking good in smaller sizes. Started at 24 now am a 13! I recommend you buy at least one pair, you will enjoy how you look in them! |

Happened with me too, I'm lost over 100 pounds, and oddly enough, no matter how proud I am of the loss, I still feel and look fat. I stay confident, and I feel I am much more confident than before when I was obese, but I just don't see the weightloss, I see it in pictures, but I dunno, it's hard to explain. |

| Weight Loss | Losing a pound a day | Jul 27 2008 14:17 (UTC) |

I had this same issue, I think it's all water, no one loses one pound of pure fat in a day. It depends on your salt intake, I think someone above mentioned, and your water intake together, consuming less salt will make you weighloss, although you are not losing fat, just water. |

Original Post by flashdance9: Yes, it took about a month and a half to get my body back to normal, but yes, I do not feel anymore pain, the surgery was totally worth it, and the weight loss was nice, although I lost a lot fast. I was also scared I would gain weight, but things ended nicely, and I'm happy. =)
