Tell me about it.  I was scared to get on a scale for 4 days!!  Plus, now it's TTOM which dosesn't help.

I told myself it's all about maintaining through the holidays. :)

Hey, QM,

The delayed gratification thing has worked well for me before.  I'll tell myself that I can eat tomorrow.  I've been known to have ice cream cake for breakfast.  I figure at least I have all day to work off the calories and it works.  Much better than eating at night!

Oh, another thing.  QM, I totally agree with you about the weight thing.  I look at those fitness instructors and they look awesome regardless of their weight.

I have a sister that pretty much equates thinness to prettiness and I have to tell you when I see those super skinny, toneless models...I'm not impressed.  I'd much rather weight more and have the muscle to back it up!!

Hi, Janay and QM,

I know that I suggested it but I don't think that I can add another weigh in at the moment.  sorry. Frown

I've decided that my goal is to maintain through the end of the year through the holidays and than start back up with avengence in January!

Unfortunately there is just too much going on right now!!

BUT, I still love this post!  You guys are great.  I'm still going to post my thoughts.  My hubbie and I are hosting Thanksgiving this week so hopefully all the extra running around will keep me occupied and less likely to eat!  I think just being about to think about it and post something really helps to keep me on track.Cool

Me, too.  Maybe we need a weekly weigh-in? Cool

I'm so bad.  I joined two challenges and one weighs in on Mondays and the other one on Saturdays which are probably the two worst days for me since I'm usually worse on the weekend. 

Friday is the best day for me.  I weighted 111.5 but than went to a wedding on Friday night and ate, ate, ate.  The holiday season is so tough!

Hi, Guys,

How's everyone doing?  I think that everyone must be getting busy with the holidays.  It's hard to post as much.  We had a surprise 40th b'day party on Saturday at Maggiano's (it's an Italian chain) and I ate, ate, ate.  I feel like the events never stop coming lately.  This Friday is my cousins wedding and I know I'll eat, eat, eat.  I'm trying to let myself indulge but not go too crazy!

And, on a good note, my hubbie got a new job (he was laid off in September).  It'll be an adjustment because I was getting used to him being home and getting those little things done but we'll manage.

I also got one of those food scales that tells you how many calories are in food.  It is super cool!

Ugh!  Halloween and TTOM stink.  I'm 114 this week but I'm motivated to be strict this week and get ready for Thanksgiving!  I ate enough candy this weekend to keep me satisfied all montth. LOLLaughing

QM - I'm sure that you're weight is just doing the fluctuating thing.  It's unbelieveable how much a scale can go up and down!

I joined the restless girl November challenge...hopefully it will keep me honest for the week and help me through the holiday eating!!

Nice job, janay101!  I typically get up early the first half of the year to exercise in the morning but than in the second half of the year I switch to exercising at night because its soooo dark in the morning!  I'm scared to run in the dark.  The streets around me are very narrow and poorly lit.

Yes, I do need to sign up for my races.  I'm using being poor as an excuse b/c my hubbie lost his job but they don't cost that much.

Any plans on avoiding the candy tomorrow?  I think I'm going to let myself indulge a little but try to do it earlier in the day so that I can work it off!Cool

That's awesome, Olivia!!!  Way to go!  I was actually thinking about doing a 10k in December.  I never signed up for the Halloween run this month but I'm thinking that I should sign up for the day after Thanksgiving run to help me burn all those extra calories that I know I'm going to eat!

It's a very rainy, yucky day here.  I've been a little unmotivated lately.  Too much Halloween candy hanging around.

I don't know about you guys but the bad weather brings me down!

Hi, I did the same thing as last week.  On Saturday, I was down to 111 and than today I was up to 114.  Too much candy at a Halloween Party yesterday.  I'm not too upset.  I know that I'll be back down again tomorrow.

 

Thanks for the inspiration, Lynn!  You're so motivated.  It makes me want to get out there and work hard.

Hey, Workoutchix,

I'm not sure how much advice I'm qualified to give but you are trying to lose weight in two weeks I would just be really strict about you diet and do lots of cardio.  I have been doing 60 minutes of cardio 4 to 5 times are week and have been losing a good amount of weight.

QUESTION:  Do any of you use a food scale?  And if so, does it measure in grams?  Sometimes the food labels are consistent in their unit of measure?

Thanks, QM.  I was back down to 112.5 today which made me feel much better.

Now, I just have to prepare for the upcoming holidays - Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.  At least, I'm having Thanksgiving at my house...I always do better when I know what to expect. :)

Hi, Guys,

So, I was down to 111 on Saturday and I went to visit the family and blew it!  My mom is the queen of buying food to make everyone happy.  I always go a little crazy and this weekend was no different.  I tried to be somewhat good on Saturday but than I lost it completely on Sunday and I was up to 114.5 this morning.

I drank a lot of water last night hoping that it was mostly water weight.  Hopefully, I didn't do too much damage and can get back on track this week.

Anyone have any motivational thoughts? :)

Ugh...bad weekend.  Hit a low point on Saturday at 111 but when to visit my parents and family and ate all day Saturday and Sunday so I'm up to 114 today. :(  I just need to regroup and be good this week.

QM - Way to go on Thanksgiving!  Those event days/holiday are tough.  I usually let loose a little too much on those days.  Fortunately, it wasn't Thanksgiving in the US, just Columbus Day, which I don't get off anyway.

Are you guys all prepared for the weekend?  I was super psyched this morning when I got on the scale...down to 111.5.  Typically, this is about the time that I get a little overly excited about my weight and too confident that I can keep losing and than over eat.

Everyone is doing so well!

I'm down again this week, too.  Overall, my trend is downward although it fluctuates A LOT but the overall range is about 3 pounds from where I was at a month ago!

Spacedreamer, you'll have to give me some tips for getting ready for the half marathon.  I started training for the Philly Half Marathon but between working full-time, taking care of the family, and starting a class at night, I soon realized that something had to give.  I'm definitely planning on doing it next year since I won't have any classes (I hope).

Olivia, sounds like you are doing pretty well considering.  Often, breakups are at least good for losing weight...sometimes a good side effect. :)

QM - Wow, you're a young mommy!  I wish that I had my daughter a little younger.  I love being a mom.  i always knew I would but it took a while to find the right man.  It's awesome that you'll be so young when your kids are adults!

Welcome, spacedreamer! To be honest, when there was more sun in the morning, I would always wake up early to exercise but now that it is soooo dark, I exercise after my daughter goes to bed at night.  Fortunately, we have an elliptical machine and a stair master so i exercise in front of the TV.  it's OK but I definitely prefer going out in the morning and running.

My husband and I went out last night for Mexican and I ate way tooo much so now I'm going to go running while my daughter takes her nap.  it's beautiful out today!

So, Olivia, are you ok with the breakup?  You sound like a very strong person but even when you initiate those types of things it can be difficult.

QM - thanks for the link.  I'm typically not one of those motivational types but I figured that I'd give it a chance.  Nice new picture...I need to post one, too.

I'm awful with "events" too.  It takes a lot mental preparation for me to be good.  I always seem to fall off the wagon at parties.  So how old is your daughter?

So have any of you done one of the challenges?  I joined one for September through December but there seems to be a lot of members so it's hard to keep track?

I'm actually trying a new thing where I'm logging my weight every day to see if there's a correlation between my weight and my cycle - seems like there is.

Mustard greens are kinda leafy things, like lettuce but more bitter.

So, how is everyone doing?  I've been on a downward trend which is great motivation!!

I was looking for a site that sends motivational emails?  Have any of you come across something like that?
