My husband has done the same thing. Once I had lost about 20 pounds he told me, "now you are going to get skinny andleave me" Well I was not planning on it. lol He thinks everyone is hitting on me now too. He also buys me the food. He literally brought home a milkshake the other day and geve it to me. I drank it but I thought I was going to puke. When I told him it made me sick, he seemed offended. I think it is a self confidence thing on their part. I know in our case, he i smuch heavier and I have just lost 81 pounds. He tells me all the time how beautiful I am and that helps, but that darn food he brings home is not making me fat it is making our children fat. STOP IT!! lol Do I dare mention that he is type one diabetic and does not need the sweets? Good luck!! Have your feelings changed toward him? |

Oh I am so thankful to know that I am not alone in this and that it must be normal. I am sitting here now, just freezing. My heating bill is going to skyrocket this winter. I freeze in my house and I freeze outside. I better start stocking up on clothing. I already am sleeping with 5 blankets and my heater and I still am freezing. |

I am pretty sure I have enough body fat. I started at 227 and I am down to 159. , I know that is only 68 pounds. lol I have been following the CC 1950, then 1700, then 1650 calories to lose. Now I am eating way above that as I have not been counting the last few months. I am still 15 pounds from my goal weight.

I am 5'7" and I started our at 227 pds in Jan of this year. I am down to 159.2 and hoping to get to 143, which is the ideal weight listed here in CC. The transformation of the last 70 pounds I have lost is amazing in itself though and if I never lost another pound, I am so happy at 159. |

I would also boost your calorie intake. I know when you are trying to lose it seems odd, but it seems to work for me. I started with CC in Jan. I weighed 227 and I was 29 and 5'7". I ate the recommended 1950 calories and I worked out a few days a week. (mostly treadmill and walking mixed with general pushups, situps, etc. ) I lost 20 pounds the first month, then 30 more the next 4 months. Since June, I have not been working out, but I am doing a paper route so I am walking a lot. I have not been counting calories and I have lost another 15 in the last 4 months. Now, I am starting again to count calories. I am eating 1650 calories, as recommended on this site and exercising 3 times a week. It seems to work for me, hope it can help some of you. I now weigh 159.2.

I do not deny myself of anything. At first I was more cautious, but now, if I want a cookie or two I eat them, but watch the serving sizes and calories. Moderation and determination will pay off. |

They are also supervised on the ranch by doctors and they work out for 6 hours each day. They do stick to a low calorie, specialized diet. I have lost 43 pounds on this site since January, so I am not going to pay for their website, but I love the show and it works for the contestants. |

| Weight Loss | Seven Pounds! But will it stop? | May 05 2008 22:51 (UTC) |
|
I started this journey to get back my healthy life style and to make it a life change and not a diet. With that said, I do not say no to anything, but I do partake of everything by serving and I count calories for everything I eat. For the graduation, I recently had a death in our family and people brought food from everywhere. Boy the stuff was good and I could not handle it going to waste. I knew it was not going to be an everyday thing, so I took a bite of everything, but not a plateful of anything, if that makes sense. Hope you enjoy graduation and get on track the next day. You will get back on track even if you choose to take the night off. |

sounds right. I have found I lose more when I stay pretty close to the recommended calories. do not sell yourself short, especially if you up your exercise. I am 5' 7" I started at 227 and my calories were 1900. Now I am down to 184 and my calories are 1650, so the site adjusts for you as you lose weight. Good luck on your adventure. |

| Fitness | walking with a stroller VS walking for pleasure | Apr 04 2008 19:10 (UTC) |

Great question. Does not make sense to me either. I went walking yesterday. Had my two kids in the stroller, three of them at one point. lol Just my two weigh 75 pounds together, so I was pushing extra weight up hill too. I would think even with a stroller and possibly slightly slower, you would burn more with the weight you are pushing, but who knows. |

| Weight Loss | I'm New Here - Have a LOT of Weight to Lose and Need Support and Accountability | Mar 26 2008 14:04 (UTC) |

HI mary, I am going to be 30 in a few months and am increasingly coming uncomfortable with my weight. I have three kids, but it was not as much the pregnancy weight, as it seemed to come off after having the baby. It was more the Pepsi and junk food, not to mention fast food I was consuming. I had no idea how many calories were in fast food. Once I started logging my calories and figured out I was consuming 6-7 thousand calories a day. I knew I had to change my life style to get healthier and live longer for my kids. Weight has always been a personal thing for me, but with this giant step, I began telling everyone what I weighed and that I was going to lose. I set small goals. First I started in January and I wanted to lose 20 pounds by June. I lost 20 pounds in the forst 30 days. ( Just cutting out Pepsi I am sure. My body was probably in shock. I was drinking up to 200 ounces a day) I also cut back on fast food and I stuck to about 1800 calories a day and I added exercise which was harder than hard to begin with. I got tired sitting down, now I feel like jogging. I started at 227 and I am now at 194. So excited about this group and the progress we can all make together. Feel free to add me to your friends list and lets keep eachother accountable. |

| You are a huge encouragement!!! I also think people need to be less judgemental, because I started with CC This January and I have lost 26 pounds. The first 30 days, weight fell off, now it is beginning to slow down to the recommended 1-2 pounds a week, but all I changed was the calories I eat and added in exercise. Differenct people react different to exercise and healthy eating. For me, I went from eating almost strictly fast food (excess of 6000 calories probably) down to the recommended 1500-1900 calories. That with 10-30 min. of stregth training and cardio a day brings great results. My goal starting was 20 pounds in 6 months, I hit that in 30 days, now my goal is 30 pounds by June, so I need to lose 4 more pounds by June and know I can do that. Little goals and healthy eating are not unhealthy when you are obese. Thanks for letting me share. I just think there are way to many judgemental people on here and for the one who thought you said this Jan, Thanks for apologizing. You are a great lady although comparing her to a dog was not nice. We need more like you. We are all in this journey together and we need to encourage one another. | |||

| I have been using a regular scale and I have lost 25 pounds, then this last week I bought a digital and it runs 3 pounds heavier than my current one and I was a bit upset at first, but I had to remind myself that my starting weight would have also been 3 pounds heavier and that I have lost 25 pounds. I am also obsessed with weighing myself multiple times a day. | |||

I also hit a rut about week 4 though and I heard I needed to boost my metabolism by eating more. I ate a couple hundred more calories than I had been eating and I lost 3 pounds within the next couple days and since then have lost 13 more pounds. Keep going and try eating a bit more especially when you are exercising.

| This is a great post. It will be a month tomorrow for me and I have already lost 18 pounds. I still eat a lot of snacks, but I am eating portion sizes and exercising. It is amazing the difference it makes. I have also gone down one pant size and my pants now are getting lose. Yea! I can not wait until I get to go shopping for clothes, because even the shirts I have now make me look huge, but I could wear a smaller size. Thank you to everyone on here for taking the giant step forward with me! | |||

Wow! Was it good? I eat chicken salads with bacon bits, croutons, carrots, cucumber and lite dressing. It is usually around 210. Does not hold for too long though. I am at 500 after lunch, so maybe I could have an omlet for dinner.

Is jump roping as good an exercise as running?
