Since July of last year I have had my ears pierced six times - I have two lobe piercings on the right and three lobe piercings on the left along with one cartilege piercing on the left top. I let my husband do all the lobe piercings with a disposable gun and they hurt much worse than the cartilege piercing which was also done with a gun at Walmart of all places. Cartilege piercing didn't hurt at all to have done, my ear got kind of "hot" but didn't hurt - couldn't use the phone or sleep on that side for about a week. Only hurts now if I hook my pick thru the hoop when I am fixing my hair! |

Hi all, I just thought I would pop in. I was afraid you would all think I abandoned SB, but I haven't I have just been really busy with work and such. I am down to 227.8 which is about 25lbs lost since July. I am averaging about 1lb a week right now which is still good. I am finally starting to see a difference in the way my clothes fit, and I thought that would never happen. Just to put things into perspective for myself I have really been thinking about past weights. I am 2lbs away from the weight I was when starting my job 8 years ago, I am 15lbs away from the weight I was 10 years ago when I got pregnant with my son, I am 37lbs away from the weight I was at my six week postpartum check up. Thinking like this really helps me see what ground I have covered and what still lies ahead. I hope no one minds my sharing! |

I don't recall any type of pudding being allowed but you can have sugar free jello and sugar free fudgecicles. Hope that helps! |

Because you WERE able to buy pants a size smaller, I would say that you have toned and built some muscle. What I have read on here, muscle weighs more so it is very possible that is why the pound gain but smaller size. Me, on the other hand, I am just pure lazy. I know in my heart that I have got to start excersizing to make this weight move but I procrastinate! |

Katietburg I have actually wondered the same thing (in regards to doing phase1 over). It was so nice to be losing amounts greater than 1lb a week. Don't get me wrong I'm not complaining (at least I don't mean to be...) but it seems that the loss really has slooooowed! |

Guess I'll jump in here to weigh in this morning. 238.0, I know 1-2lbs per week is ideal but as impatient as I am, I really wish it was 2!!! |

Well, I broke down and mixed up a little epsom salt in water for "going" last night. Very effective, worked fast, tasted nasty, made me gag, refuse to do it again! Another one of those lessons learned, but I do feel physically much better. I ate more than I should have yesterday but I hadn't had bread in a month, so I ate a plain chicken sandwich. Then I felt guilty. Oh well, weight at 239.6 this morning. A town about 30 miles from here has a health food store, I am going to try to head that way sometime this weekend to check on the smooth move tea. I appreciate all the advice and encouragement I receive here, it really does help. |

Well, 241.8 this morning but still *sighs* not going! I just really don't understand, I eat a salad at least once everyday, I eat lean meat and vegetables everyday, I started putting benefiber in my drinks twice a day, I have been eating a SB cereal bar for breakfast everyday (sick of eggs!), if I am hungry before bed I eat one serving of Kashi golean high fiber cereal and I am drowning in water! It just is beginning to drive me absolutely mad! I suppose tonight I will have to break down and do the lax thing again since nothing has worked since this time LAST WEEK! I am going to google the tea that was mentioned last week and see if anywhere around here sells such a thing or if I will have to order it. *sighs* |

you can go to www.taaz.com and sign up (its free), you take a headshot of yourself with your hair back and it lets you "try on" different hairstyles, colors, makeup, eye color, etc. My husband and I played with it for hours one night and unfortunately, with lots of makeup and dark short hair, I look like a fat Liza Minelli! |

Thanks for all the replies and encouragement. I have been drinking ALOT of water (for me anyways) before starting SB, I might have drank 20oz per week - now I drink between 90 and 100oz per day. So I don't think water was my problem, fiber I am not so sure about, I may be severely lacking in that department despite all the beans and greens that I eat every day. I finally broke down yesterday evening and used a laxative to get things going again - I feel much better physically this morning and my spirits lifted when I saw 240.2 on the scale. I vow never to get into such a predicament again. I just really threw me for a loop - before I started SB, I hardly had time to digest before I went. Oh well, today is a new day. I posted the other day that I was buying a used treadmill for $40. Well, I bought it and it is now up for sale again! Number 1, that thing is a deathtrap. If you slow or stop it seizes up and will throw you for a loop if your not hanging on! Number 2, I actually feel better walking outside and I couldn't make myself climb on that thing everyday even though I swore I would. Live and Learn. I hope everyone has an easy and relaxing weekend! |

I am frustrated as well. Weight this morning was 242.6, I think that is up a little from last week. What is so discouraging is that I decided to stay on phase 1 and only do a little increase towards phase 2. For example Monday, I ate one whole wheat hotdog bun, Tuesday nothing except phase 1, Wednesday oatmeal with strawberries (yuck I might add). I have absolutely been starving the last couple of days which may be due to the added carbs I had, although I wouldn't think so with that little of a difference. I also haven't "went" since Saturday so I am trying to convice myself that is making a difference. Right now I am just disgusted, hungry and tired. I actually cheated and weighed Saturday and saw 240, I guess that just added to my frustrations today. Encourage me please! Surely I didn't plateau in two weeks time! |

Well, it looks like I may be first to weigh in today.....I started SB 11 days ago at 252.8 and this morning my scale says 242.0. It makes me very happy! My first 10 pounds are gone and hopefully will have many more to follow. I found a treadmill for sale for 40.00 in a neighboring county and hopefull will hear back about it today as I am sure I need to start excersizing and get off of my butt! |

Thanks for the replies - I kinda figured as much. I had looked in my book, but I swear I didn't see those in there! I'm glad I didn't go ahead and buy any. The good news is that this is getting easier - the last couple of days by the time I realized what time it is, it is lunch time and I haven't eaten my snack (gotta love that string cheese)! |

I just have a quick question - is it alright to eat pork rinds (meat skins) during phase one or at any time during south beach? I know that they have little if any carbs to them. I have never been a chip eater but always loved to eat dry cereal at night while watching tv. As I am only on my 5th day, I am starting to miss something crunchy. Any ideas are appreciated! Thanks |

My turn.....248.6, that is 4.2lbs since Monday. I'M SO EXCITED!!!! I would like to be able to actually lose closer to the 13 in phase one, but I won't hold my breath! I just wanted to let all of those who have been at this for an extended period that you all are such and inspiration to me and after doing this for just 4 days so far, I think you all show incredible strength! |

Well, I have almost made it thru day#2. Today was a little easier than yesterday and I hope each new day is easier than the last. I am noticing that I am eating much slower now, I guess to make my meals last longer! Tommorrow I will have to find something other than salad to have for lunch - salad everyday is getting boring but so far I don't mind the omelet breakfasts. 2 days down - 12 more to go to phase 2...... |

Hello all! My name is Kyna and I have just completed day 1 of phase 1 - and it wasn't easy! I followed a sample menu from the book today and have drank about 80 ounces of water/green tea today. And although I have definately had enough to eat today, I think it is the thought that I can't run to the kitchen for a bowl of cereal! However, I have made it 1 day and I hope that ya'll can hold me accountable for myself and help me stick with it! Just for the fun of it, here are my stats: 35 years old 252.8 pounds (gee that's alot!) I would like to get to at least 185 pounds and then go from there. Thru my reading I have found that weigh in is Thursdays, so I'll make sure to pop back in then!

Glad I don't work in the same office as you, I most definately would be guilty! I have been known to mess with people by putting a little piece of paper and tape over the mouse's eye so that the mouse doesn't work, flipping name plates backwards, AND messing with the chair settings. I also enjoy sneaking up on people when they least expect it just to watch them jump! |

Where in Kentucky exactly? I am in Eastern Kentucky near the Virginia Border. I had a coworker that had custody of her grandson while his mother "tried to straighten out". The day the mother got temporary custody and was told to stay in Kentucky she bolted to Alabama to her new boyfriend's family. My coworker contacted the police and everything. They ended finding out the location because the mother was still using her "food stamp" card and they could see what stores she used it in. The police in Alabama staked out the home and automobile and arrested both mom and boyfriend. My coworker and her state case worker drove down and picked the baby up. If you know what vehicle she is in maybe they could put out an alert to watch for the vehicle, also if she is receiving state aid they may be able to track her by that. |

I was prescribed Lexapro a few years ago for severe anxiety attacks. It took about 2 weeks to completely get into my system and alleviate the symptoms I was having. I didn't like the idea of taking medication either so my doctor would give me the lexapro for 6 weeks at a time, 10mg once a day. Generally withing 6 weeks I was much better and would be for several months. After that initial prescription when I would start to feel "panicky" I would start the medication again for a few days. I haven't had to take anything now for almost 2 years. |

It has a long "i" sound for the y and the a is more like a short "u". As a child on the first day of school when the teacher called roll, I knew when she paused and looked around it was me. |

I've always felt I had a really odd name and thru my childhood it was a great pain to be named Kyna. Now that I am older, it seems more unique and around here no one has the same name as me. My son's name is Walker. |

I made a tragic mistake with black dye a few years ago. I went to Sally Beauty supply and bought permanent hair color remover which got rid of most of the color and then I did a Malibu treatment to remove the rest. (I have dark brown hair and the dye made me look like Elvira) |

Try Windex (make sure the carpet is color fast first, just in case). Just spray down real good and scrub in with a brush. It worked when my son threw up for 11 days with a nasty virus! |

How can they "not" accept your resignation. What are they going to do, come and pull you from bed each morning and make you come there to work? I had a boss like that at one time, I found somewhere else to go when one of my goals became "do not yell back at the boss"! |
