Make sure you have supportive shoes-poor shoes or ones that are worn out can cause back pain as well! |

Water helps-I think it is all the sugar and fat your body is no longer used to. I decided the other day to have a chocolate fondue with my little girl...I think due to the fact taht I have not had anything with added sugar in awhile...it made me feel crappy-like it was way too sweet and then next day I was hungrier and grumpy all day-fuzzy head as well. Feeling much better today! |

| I was anaemic last year after suffering a miscarriage, and iron is constipating. fibre helped, but so did taking an omega 3 gel supplements-my mom is a nurse and she told me omega 3 or vitamin e in gelcap form can help ease constipation...so apparently can magnesium, since your body passes what it cannot use. | |||

| I'm an emotional eater-and when stressed and board so I am definitely in this group! Last year was a crap year for me personally and work wise and I put on 23 pounds in less than 3 months. I now weigh more than I did at full term when I was pregnant, so I need to find outlets other than food to deal with it. Right now I splurge on a massage every 2 weeks. Works for me! | |||

| I agree with having a pregnancy test-it is possible to be pregnant and still have "light periods"...does not hurt to get checked out! | |||

| Stress can cause your body to hold onto fat no matter what. I can see that with a special needs child you are stressed, I would recommend sticking to the plan as you have and working in some pilates and yoga. I have found a massage every couple of weeks really helps me de-stress and move things along-keep at it and you will see a change soon! | |||

| You could walk-virtually free except for the cost of shoes. I would recommend workout videos-you can use soup cans as weights...this may help and be cost effective. Can you borrow workout videos from your library? I know here in Canada you can get some if you do not have much money. | |||

| Could it be your are bored? I tend to graze and eat "mindlessly" when I am bored, and soemtimes it takes me a bit to figure out that I am looking for something to do and filling this need with food. Don't be so hard on yourself-you are doing great-think baby steps. I had a grazing day this afternoon as well-if you can call 2 lemon cupcakes and a piece of banana bread "grazing". I'm not going to beat myself up, tomorrow is a new day. Keep up the good work! | |||

You could do a few things in regards to the h20. One, you can leave some halfway up your route-I know people who have done this. You can also buy a running belt-that has a holster for your water and a pocket for your mp3, keys etc...they tend to be lightweight and do not bounce as they are designed to sit on your hips. For short runs I do not drink any h20 until after-but I do chew gum along my route-this works for me! You need a breathable [think cool max] jacket that has a hood and "bum splash guard" [fabric covers your bum for running in the rain/cold. I dress in layers [fleece hat, mitts] and take layers off [mitts first, hat last] as I heat up. I wear wind pants over running tights in the winter-I am not out there for looks, but for the exercise. The thing I invest my $ is a good pair of shoes. Also, make sure your jacket/pants have reflective material in case you are running in low light-you want to be seen by vehicles others etc. I live in a rural area so in the winter when I run I wear a head lamp as well-helps me see where I am going!
Hope this helps! |

| Weight Loss | Should I be pissed or pleased? | Jan 12 2008 00:16 (UTC) |

| Often, when people see you everyday, they will not notice the weight loss, or a new haircut, new makeup etc. However, if you were to go away for a week and come back-trust me people would notice. Also, I am sure you would get tons of compliments if you invested in some new clothes; it is possible that by wearing your ill-fitting old ones, you still look big. Don't be pissed, soon, the compliments will come flowing in and will perk you right up! Keep up the good work-remember, you are doing this for yourself, not to gain compliments from others. | |||

| My recommendation is to use a smaller plate-that way you will put less on your plate but fool your brain into thinking you are eating more. If you eat off a smaller plate, than you won't be putting as much on it and will be taking in smaller portions. This may help. |
