I always took a daily multivitamin and when I got pregnant I switched to pre natals and I noticed a huge difference in my hair, nails, and skin so I continue to take them post pregnancy.  My hair and nails are thicker and my skin is clearer and brighter.  My nurse told my that you don't have to be pregnant to take them as long as you are in child bearing years so I plan to continue with the prenatal vitamins.

thanks for the replies everyone.  I do have stretch marks on my breasts.....just not on my stomach.  I already had stretch marks on my breasts anyhow so what's a few more ;)

I am 35 weeks pregnant and have gained about 38 pounds already.  I started off average to slightly overweight at 142 lbs and I am 5'3".  My ideal weight should be between 125 - 130.  I quit smoking when I got pregnant and didn't exercise before so my doctor told me not to start.  Now I am walking daily and hoping not to go over a 40 pound gain.  My doctor told me that you can gain the amount of weeks you are pregnant so I should be around 35 pound gained.  If you go over then you need to start watching.  This is the first time in my life I am not on a diet so I did go a little overboard.  I hope I can lose the weight but not to fast because I want to avoid stretch marks at all costs.

what is wrong with light beer?  That's what I like to drink.  Should I switch to the hard stuff?  Miller lite is about 95 calories and 2.5 carbs I think

I'd like to join.  I am halfway there.  I started at 153 in January and I am currently 138 as off this morning.  I have been the same weight since June when I took a hiatus from CC.  Surprisingly,  though no exercise and not counting I didnt gain any of it back.  I think my body needed time off to get over the plateau issues I was having.  Hopefully now it is ready to lose more weight.  I am 5' 3" and my goal weight is 125.

Thanks everyone.  Maybe I will eat between 1300-1400.  That way if I need to cut back I can.  and if i add exercise then I will make sure my defecit is 500.

I am 5' 3 and weigh about 141.  I ideal weight, I think would be anywhere from 125 to 130.  I am currently not active but I was from Feb. to June until my schedule with school/home/work got out of control.  I do want to find time to start working out again.  My goal is really to lose the weight.  I am already a generally healthy person.  I take a mulit-vitamin and try to eat somewhat nutritious (not all the time).

I just blew it off at the time because I knew she did not realize how rude it was but it started eating at me.  I can't say anything to her or have my fiance say anything because she will cry if she knew she hurt my feelings. It just angers me when people feel the need to make comments like that because I never would.  It stems from my mom because she would always say stuff like that to me and not realize it is rude but I never have a problem saying something to my mom.

Thanks everybody.  Unfortunately it takes all that I have right now to run for 24 minutes straight at 5mph.  I am going to increase the time a little bit at a time until I can do 40 min. straight.  Then maybe I will increase the mph but running is very hard for me for some reason.  My face turns red as a tomato and I feel that my head is throbbing and I might pass out when I try to run at a higher mph.

I have been running/walking intervals since April as well as lifting weights.  I have noticed my muscles getting bigger but still under a layer of fat and I have not lost much weight since I started exercising.  I recently started doing 2 miles straight on the treadmill.  I may not be ready for HIIT routines yet.  I have been trying to change my routine ever so often.  At this point I want to start dropping fat and not sure how to get it kick started.

My goal is to lose fat.  I am 5' 3" 1/2 and weigh 140.  I would like to lose 15 pounds.

I agree a low carb diet works but what happens to me is my body craves bread and pasta so bad I end up binging and sabotaging the diet.  Balance and calorie counting works best for me but it will prob take longer.

A few years back I did lose alot of weight eating low carb but gained it back when I started eating them again.

Me too. I would love to be apart of this.  I have been a member since Jan. this year and quickly lost 17 pounds.  Then I plateaued for a long time and then gained back about 4 pounds.  I am currently 140.  I started at 153 and my goal is 120.  I am 5'3" and a half.

20 pounds in 10 weeks, Let's do this!

Cheers.  Now I don't know if I should start eating 1200 calories a day plus exercise or would that shock my body too much.  I am wondering if I should start at 1500 and work my way down to 1200 calories a day.

that is weird.  Usually after a night of drinking I weigh 5 pounds more the next day!!

Thanks again for the suggestions everyone.  I will repost if and when I finally break the plateau and either lose pounds or inches.  I am getting motivated again.

I am in the exact same boat.  I have been working out for six weeks and counting calories.  Not only have I not seen the scale move but I have gone up an inch total in my measurements which include arm, chest, waist, hip, and leg.

I read on another post that it takes about 6 weeks to put on muscle and an additional 4-5 weeks to lose the water retention that happens when you do so.  I hope that is the case.  Hang in there!  The fat should eventually start melting away.

Thanks everyone for the support. I am starting to get encouraged again.  I read in another post that it takes 6-8 weeks to put on muscle and 4-5 weeks for the water retention to go down so hopefully in another month I will see some results.  I am going to stick with it and work my butt off!!!

Someone at work told me to mix it with peanut butter to mask the taste.  Milk, soy protien powder, peanut butter and ice.  What do you think?  Has anyone tried this?

Thanks cibele,

I can't get it right.  First I was eating to little and now I may be eating to much again.  I went from non-active to pretty active, I just feel something should have happened by now.  ARRGGHH

Thanks for the sympathy.  I just hope if I keep doing what I am doing eventually I will start dropping weight or losing inches.  I would settle for either!

Tell him it will make you happy to lose the weight.  Let him know that you appreciate him loving you for you but this is what you want to do.

Please tell me how you did it!!  you look great.  I read your profile and for the first four months you did not exercise and lost 20 pounds.  How many calories were you eating then and how many calories are you eating now?  How often do you work out and for how long?

I hope one day I can achieve what you have ;)

I read that there is an enzyme in coffee (not the caffeine) that raises your cortisol level which could contribute to fat storage around the abdomen.  I tried to stop drinking coffee to check this out but it lasted one day.  By 3:00pm I felt so terrible (headache, lightheaded, etc....) that I gave in and had a cup.  Sad I know.  I drink a big cup in the morning and that is it.  The rest of the day I drink green tea which is caffeinated.  My hope is to totally switch to green tea sometime soon.

I am 5' 3.5" and weigh 140 lbs.  My measurements are 37-29-37.  Need to lose 10-15  lbs.
