Pregnancy & Parenting How long did you work up until you had your baby? Jun 12 2008

10

I personally made the mistake stopping work too early with my first.  He was due May 15th and April 16th the doctors told me I was 2 centimeters dilated.  I stopped working and he came May 29, induction and then a c.

However I believe if you are tired of aorking you should stop and get rested up for the new baby.

CONGRATULATIONS!

Try www.kimslightbagels.com.  A typical bagel is:

110 calories, 1 g fat, 23 carbs, 4 g fiber, 5 g protein

It is good bagel yumminess without the bad bagel guilt.

I am going to check these out......Thanks!

I don't know where everyone is from, but in NY the bagels are outrageous and I can't live with out them.  I work a bagel into my "diet" at least twice a week.  They are about 360 just for the bagel and I usually put egg whites on them but I can't live out them!!!!!

That's what I love about CC you just fit it in.  I don't feel like I am on a diet at all.  I'll have a slim fast or kashi bar as a mini meal on a day I have  a bagel.

Good Luck everyone!

Who take them and why? What vitamins do you take? Is there a good online guide that details what vitamins are out there and what they help do? (I remember seeing a copy of the Vitamin Bible, once and it was interesting. Anything like that?)

Anyone?!?!

This is definitely a life style change and not a "diet"  I've lost almost 12 pounds since December 29th and although its been slow, I am happy for the bigger picture.  I love this site and the journals.  I wish everyone the best and hope to give as much support and I've gotten.  Thanks!!! You are great.

Weight Loss Hiatus Hernia Feb 05 2008

I have a hernia and the one thing that absolutely kills me is fried food.  French fries or nuggets.  It took me a while to realize it but this better eating I've been doing helps.  I am still struggling and I need to see the GI doc soon but it has gotten much better with diet.

I also have a tough time if I get hungry.  Once I eat it does settle down but unfortunately I know what your going through and I hope you feel better soon and find the right medicine for you.

I use slim fast often but it depends on the day how I use them. For instance, Saturday I had a party to go to and knew I'd be drinking a bit and I didn't want to go over my calories for the day. And today I had one for Breakfast because I didn't have much time and I never want to miss a meal. I use slim fast and Atkins advantage protein drinks and they both do the trick. They keep me satisfied until my next mini meal.

I am hung over because I fell off the wagon last night.  I had 8 lite beers and I haven't had a drink in 5 weeks so it kinda went right to my head.

I think being light hearted about indulging and falling off the wagon is good for us and in no means is anyone trying to be disrepectful.  I understand people might have serious problems but they should really be getting help for those problems.  People here should not feel this is a safe place for them to recover from such serious conditions.  This could be a good tool to keep people on track.  And having light hearted discussions should not offend or discourage anyone.  If anything it should be helpful fun.

Was your original post edited because I can't even tell how and why you offended?

You eat groundhogs? :-s

Never heard of that, seems a bit odd to eat them when you're 'celebrating' 'groundhog day'.

btw Jolanda we have it here in Canada too, ours is Wiarton Willie :P

I agree!!! I never heard of eating groundhogs.  I am in New York.  A groundhog to me is a glorified rat!  No way would you catch me eating one.  They are cuter then rats and that's why I love them, and the idea of our silly Groundhog Day.  But to eat a groundhog, yuk!

A groundhog comes out from hibernation and if he sees his shadow we will have 6 more weeks of winter, if he doesn't see his shadow only 4 more weeks.  Then Spring!!

Don't worry about people staring.  They probably stare now.  People stare for all sorts of reasons and when we are in our own worlds, living our lives, we don't even notice it.  It's only when we are self conscious about it that we notice it.

People stare if they see something pretty, fat, cute, ugly, bright, different, etc!!! Let them stare and don't even notice them.

Be who you are and enjoy your precious baby that is about to rock your world!!!

Seriously, enjoy every moment.

19:32 (UTC)

Well you bring up a very valid point.  My mother-in-law is obsessed with weight.  Too much, too little, too anything.......

I love her dearly but she has made me have set backs before and I don't want to deal with if I have a set back or deal with just her advice in general when it pertains to weight.  I am going through a rough time personally and this has been the best 4 and 1/2 weeks I've had in a while and I want to keep positive.

Her last comment to me was that I was the heaviest she's ever seen me......Like I don't know that!!!! She does mean well and that's why I would just rather not tell her anything when it comes to watching or not watching my weight.

So in other words you hit the nail on the button and I am very self conscious...LOL

Thanks!!!!

Thanks guys, I survived....Now I am home trying to guesstimate what my calorie intake was.  I figure it is better to over estimate.  I think I did good.  But how do you know what to record.  I have been on this "diet" for 4 weeks and 2 days and this is the first time I have NO IDEA what to record.  Oh well at least tomorrow is a new day and I will be back on track!!!
