Hi - I'm back.......the stuff I use is called Simple Solution....had occasion to use it this morning...arrrgggg.  I think there are several other products out there...the "enzyme" part seems to be the key to the effectiveness.

I'm at work right now (oops) and can't remember the name of the enzyme stuff.  I'll check at home tonight and let you know.  I buy it by the gallon jug at Petco (local pet supply store).  Its actually good on any organic stain...blood, grass, etc. I use it in the laundry too.
Weight Loss Weightloss and the Puyallup Fair!!! Sep 19 2006

I loooove the Puyallup fair!  We lived on the West side for years and went whenever we could.

hkellick is right - don't beat yourself up about the temporary lapse....its probably not the first, and won't be the last.  Next time try a trick I use (doesn't always work, but is worth a try).  When presented with a "should I or shouldn't I" dilema.....I try and convince myself that this opportunity for a  funnel cake, curly fries, whatever, is not the last chance I'll ever have to have some.  They or something equally yummy will be here tomorrow if I really can't do without.

She's probably feeling insecure.  If my dogs are any indication...the bad news is with the coming winter it will probably get worse.

I have dachsunds that are notoriously stubborn, willful and dislike inclement weather.  They'd rather pee on the carpet than get their feet wet.....and they know better.  I just boot them out every couple of hours and use an enzyme product especially for doggie mishaps.  It has an almond smell (kind of like the old Jergens hand lotion) and is supposed to actually "eat" the offending material, not just cover it up.

Good Luck...

166.5...down 1 lb since last week.  Pretty good considering the brats, beer & strudel consumer at a Deutschesfest this weekend. This week should be a good one....spouse is out of town and I'm doing Lean Cuisine all week.

No loss this week......still at 167.5......but at least I didn't gain.  I guess I'm just going to have to face the fact that exercise is an important part of the weight loss equation....but geez I just have the worst time making myself do it!  The winter season will be even worse because I won't be outside as much.

Hi to all the new September posters......I was afraid this thread might die.

So I guess its confirmed........women over 50 gain belly fat....arrgggg.  Whose big FAT idea was that!  I started to put it on around the middle about 8 years ago.  I think a vegetarian diet contributed to the problem.....lots of carbs & fewer protiens.  I've since balanced out my diet with complex carbs and lean protien, but am still fighting the battle.  Sweets are a big temptation for me and I can't make myself "workout".  I like walking the dogs, gardening and that kind of exercise, but not gym type stuff.

So, heres to all of us and our journey to health and fitness.  Reading some of the post by others really makes it seem possible.  There are some real success stories here.

Not a good Holiday weekend....I'm at 168, up 1 lb from last check-in.  Week days are no problem for me, but weekends are filled with political events and work, with meals caught on the run and usually when I'm starving.  This weight thing is not going to be easy between now and November.  I'm still committed to getting down to a decent size by cruise time though...

Stayed the same this week, 167....better than gaining I guess, but I really need to buckle down.  Weekend political events are doing me in....way too much food and temptation.  But as they say..."today is the first day of the rest of my life"....so I am back on the 'ol healthy eating horse!

Hi there "over 50's" -  I'm 59.....will be 60 next June and decided to give myself a big 60th birthday present of some significant lifestyle changes that include a healthier eating and smaller pants.  My biggest "health"  hurdle is a sweet tooth and distaste for anything thing that smells of excercise for excercise sake.  I like being active with something specific in mind, like gardening, walking the dog, or swimming at the beach....but running or weight training just isn't my thing.  Also, I work full time and just can't make myself go to the gym before or after work.

Nice to meet you all.....and good luck in your journey.  Check in with the Monday morning weigh-in group.......it helps keep me honest over the weekend.

Good Morning from Spokane -  I'm down 1.5 lbs.....to 167.  I'm satisfied with my progress this week, but sometimes it seems easier to just go in and have it sucked off!!  BBQ season is a killer for me.....way to much potato salad and ribs.

Have a good week all.......

Not so good last week...168.8, up .5.  Actually I was down to 167 mid week, but went to a political fundraising BBQ Sunday and ate my weight in salmon and pasta salad. Back on the wagon this week!

Count me in on the Monday morning weigh-in.  I've been a member since January of this year and enjoy the community posts, but haven't participated myself.  Nows the time to jump in I think.  I'm at 168 this morning......shooting for 145 by December.

Hi - I'm new to the site....just found it while Googling for a "calorie counting" site. This is so much more...it's great! I need to lose about 30 lbs. Would like to drop about 15 of those by 02-20-06....we're going on a cruise and you know how that goes!
I'm particularly interested in the analysis portion of the food log. What is a healthy ratio of protien-carbs-fat? I think I've read fat needs to be kept under 30%.
Also, I hate excercise.......any thoughts on how to get past this stumbling block?
