I can promise one thing, I don't know about others but I know this guy digs curves lol...maybe it's a southern thing or an older thing, not really sure, but my age group, it seems to be a common theme.  So, don't fret, one o these days you'll find one that digs curves.

Holy crap, that sounds familiar... I went through the same kind of thing doing great, break up, fall off the wagon, party and eat and gain weight.  Well, it just took me waking up one day and deciding that enough is enough and came back to CC and started all over just like you are doing now.

So, I just got up and started running every morning, started actually paying attention to what I was eating and I'll tell ya, in a very short time I feel better than I have in a long time.

It's not easy, but stick to it and you'll feel better for it.

Congrats on your success so far.  There definitely are times where the scale may not move but the inches keep slidin off.  You have an awesome attitude about it and I am definitely glad to hear it... Keep up the great work.

Well, I'm just curious, are you also exercising some as well?  Since muscle does weight a little more than fat, you could be gaining muscle which for the time being will be upping the scale a little while at the same time losing fat and inches.  Try taking measurments to see if you are in fact losing inches.

I know it's tough but you can pull through this, just use more than just the scale to guage your success.  I don't think that it is necessarily a medical issue, or I hope it's not ;-)

You should not drop below 1500 calories so that is the bottom of the line but I would try it for a while then bump up your intake and see what that does.  I really can't say that there is an exact science but I wouldn't go below 1500 calories per day especially since you are active...

By the way, congrats on your success so far...

Here is a pretty good post about it, also you may want to wear an ankle brace for a few months after you feel healed just for the extra support for a while...

Well, there are always low impact workouts that can still help burn calories without causing pain on the sprained ankle.  I've been there so I know how bad it sucks to not be able to get around.  But Pilates or Yoga might help still burn a few extra cals so that you don't have to worry too much about your intake.  Just a thought...

I actually had to physically say this to myself this morning, but I said it to myself very loudly ;-)

"Get your butt out of bed, nothing will change if you don't make it happen"...

Might be odd but I got myself out of bed.  I guess I am becoming my own drill sgt.

Oh yes, I can relate more than you could possibly know.  I was once pretty athletic and I guess I am still active now but have always been the biggest guy in the group.  That never bothered me before because I still feel like I look better than everyone else lol...

But in all seriousness you are making a change to something that you have never really thought about before.  You are going to have some doubts but the fact of the matter is that you are making healthy choices for a healthier life and nobody can doubt that that decision is a good one.

It's tough to stay motivated but I will promise you one thing CC is a huge help and many times is a great motivational place.

Stick with it, it will all be worth it.

Yep, weight loss is a bugger and self image is always an issue.  I see myself and even after losing a few inches and a few pounds I still feel bigger than I was.  It definitely happens and it's tough to overcome but you can definitely overcome it.  Stick with your plan, continue doing what you're doing.  It may sound ridiculous but start a log of the compliments that you receive from others that notice the weight loss.  That really does help put things into perspective.  The fat around the face will drop, just don't give up...

Well, the only question that I would have for you is how much of a deficit are you getting each day.  It is possible that you have too bid a caloric deficit and your body is causing you to not lose weight.  I can only speculate because I don't have all of the details but starting out with more than an 800 calorie deficit could be part of the problem.  Now, I'm no doctor or specialist and am pretty much just regurgitating stuff that I have researched but that really could be part of the issue.

Check your burn rate for the day and maybe you can up the cals for a bit and see a bigger drop.  I know it sounds crazy but I had to do it at one point to jump start the loss.

Probably wouldn't work out very well, plus the day of zero calories may make your body enter starvation mode and store more than you could burn.  It might actually make the process longer.  Just go back to your normal caloric intake the next day and maybe do an extra 10 minutes of workout each day that week.  Jus my two cents.

Yeah, it's always nice getting a compliment or two.  The receptionist at my office asked me this morning if I have been losing weight.  I don't think the scale has changed much but I may have lost a couple of inches.  It's nice when someone else notices.

By the way, congratz on the compliments you two, keep it up and there will be many more to come ;-)

Yeah, I've found that just getting up and getting started early changes the way that I handle the rest of the day.  Getting the early morning workout, early breakfast, shower, dressed and ready for work without the normal rush just makes the whole day better.

Well, I usuall use the flatwraps sandwich wraps.  You can possibly use tortillas as well.  They make a real thin crispy crust and each can be served up as a low cal individual serving.  I have a hard time with the low sodium part but using veggies instead of meats turns out really good and only takes a few minutes to prepare.

Yeah, I don't know but it sounds like one of two things could be happening here.  Either she is jealous, or she wants to be the only thin one, not really sure which one she is.  The only thing you can really do is sit her down and maybe show her your food journal, that would show that it's not an eating disorder but in fact a healthier lifestyle...sometimes roommates suck when you're trying to change your life...

I wish you the best though...
