In reality, that dress probably won't look bad at all. The ruching in the tummy area works wonders for hiding pudge and the little ruffley thing at the hip might actually do some camouflaging. I wouldn't worry so much about the dress itself...just make sure she doesn't pick that icky "baby-poo brown" color...A size 2 couldn't even look good in that!!! Oh and be confident. A woman with confidence looks great in anything! |

My favorites are the Weight Watchers Smart Ones. I love the Fettucine Alfredo w/ Broccoli and the Asian Style Pot Stickers. There's also a Roasted Turkey with Green Beans one that's pretty tasy and filling too. I also really like the Lean Cuisine Spa Collections ones...the Butternut Squash ravioli is delicious. I know they aren't the greatest of choices but I get burnt out on sandwiches and salads for lunch everyday and want something hot and filling. Plus, with only a half hour lunch break I need something quick.

Hehe...a fellow Harry Potter fan, I see... I love the names Aria, Wynter, Emily, Lily and Nichole for girls and Hunter, Nickolas and Dimitri for boys. I was in line at a checkout once and the cashier was a girl named Brandyn (pronounced Brandon) and I always that was really pretty. |

Well, there's a gnome inside the engine that passes gas on a tiny little flame thrower and that little flame licks a tiny donkey in his behind and that makes the donkey run while pulling a string that makes the gears in the engine turn. Where do babies come from?

If my BF and I ever get married I'd walk down the aisle to "I'll Stand By You" by Berlin and our first dance would be to our song which is a cover of "My Funny Valentine" by a band called Paulson. It's amazing...and the words just fit us. Plus his b-day is actually on Valentine's Day. No matter what, I'm walking down the aisle to "I'll Stand by You". Whoever I end up marrying would have to be worthy of the lyrics of that song. |

I plan on rewarding myself every step of the way with tattoos after hitting milestones. My first reward(an angel on one shoulder blade and a devil on the other both done as pin up girls) is going to be when I get down under 200 lbs. I know it's not small but for me it's a 25 lb loss and my shoulder blades shouldn't change too much so I figure it's worth it to keep me going! I seriously can't wait to be 140 lbs and get all the ink in the places I want (hips, thigh, side...)! I just know it will look better then and there won't be as much pain from stretch marks and the skin won't get all weird from losing weight after getting them.

Oh...wow...my BF does nothing for my efforts. He is a very big guy(5'10" 350 lbs) and definately needs to lose some weight himself. But when I try to make healthy dinners, he'll sabotage it by adding salt and butter or gravy or cheese or bacon bits or the dreaded ranch dressing. He sees me exercising as a waste of time. He'd rather sit on his you-know-what and be lazy. He scoffs at me saying "We all die from something." I must admit it's a real dissappointment to me that he can't see the success I'm starting to see in myself and use it as motivation. I've been doing the whole calorie counting thing for just a few weeks and already see a difference...not so much weight loss(4 lbs so far) but my skin is better and I just feel better all over. I guess this is why we have each other...to be the motivation/support that some of us are lacking. |

Hello all...I'm new to Calorie Count too. I have been reading the threads and using the tools on here for a while but never actually "joined" until recently. It's awesome that there are so many 20-something-ish people that are in the same boat as me and trying to lose weight. My name's Athena. I live in FL. I am 5'7" and weigh 225 right now. My first goal is to get to 200 by June, maybe even sooner. I don't want to overdo it though. My overall goal is to be @ 140 in a year. So far I am having a pretty easy time with calorie counting. I find it hard to eat my full 1500 cals some days, though. I eat a lot of fruits, veggies, lean protein and such so I never really feel hungry. My downfall is definately dinner. I love pasta and rice. :( I'm already seeing minor results though. I know it's just b/c of water weight coming off but my rings are starting to move on my fingers and my face is less "bloated" looking. Simple little things, I know, but still acheivements none the less. :) |
