I'm in favor of keeping our "4 women who won't give up!" challenge after the "official" end of it, it certainly has helped me keep going. Boy, good idea Matty, I definitely need to reaffirm my plan, so: -get to the gym 5 days a week -watch my calorie intake -get outside with my kids (it's finally warming up here!, yeah!!) My biggest challenge now is going to be a trip my boss is taking us on to San Francisco for the 23th to the 27th - somehow I have to figure out a way to enjoy the trip (wine tour, good restaurants) but yet keep to my plan as closely as I can (can you believe the hotel charges $15 a day to use the gym??). If you have suggestions, I would love to hear them, I can certainly use all the help I can get - it's going to be hard to resist the wine, seafood, wine, oh yeah, did I mention the WINE!!!! 4 WOMEN, 4 WEEKS, 4 POUNDS!! (or more) |

Hi girls! I'm still here, just busy beyond belief! I'm not in the tax area with the 15th crunch coming, but for some reason all my clients have gone bezurk this last couple of weeks (I'm an attorney!) So, needless to say, I haven't been the dedicated gym enthusiast or calorie counter, but I guess I'm holding my own. Oh how I long for the weeks when I lost 3-4 pounds instead of my 1-2 now, but as I am well aware of, it's my own damn fault. So...again...I am re-re-re-re (I think that covers it) dedicating myself to watching my calories and getting to the gym at least 5 days a week! Went to the gym yesterday (that's 1) so I'm off . . .! It sounds like we've all been having our ups and downs the last 2 weeks, but we're hanging in there - YEAH US!!!! I'm with you Nikki, I get my period, and water weight is the death of me! A small trick that helps a little is to watch your salt intake the couple days before you get your period, then you don't retain quite as much water, but I have yet to have a period week where I didn't go up in weight. Personally, I vote for men having to deal with the period once a month, see how they like it! Wait . . . gotta reconsider that - with cramps, bloating, etc., men would be completely impossible to live with - whining, complaining and doing the typical male "I don't feel good" routine once a month would probably cause me to murder my husband and the only way I'd get off would be with a jury of women and the "husband is a baby when sick" defense! LOL!! Life should settle down for me for about a month or so and then I need to start cracking on graduation party plans (OMG, can't believe I have a kid who will graduate!). Unfortunately it doesn't look like I'll hit my half way goal by the end of this challenge or graduation like I had originally planned, but hey, what I have accomplished (what we HAVE ALL accomplished!) is fantastic and so what if it takes a little bit longer than planned to reach the ultimate goal - we are getting healthier every week no matter what the scale says and that's the main goal - to be around as long as possible for ourselves and our families! NIKKI, MATTY, SHANNON - YOU ARE FABULOUS WOMEN! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK! |

Congratulations to all of us! We are succeeding which is the important part no matter how small the success is. I've had problems sticking to the calories and workout goals the last 3 week (I guess I gave up my diet for Lent!), but now I need to rededicate myself to watching the calorie intake and actually going to the gym 5 days a week! Thank god the hubby is doing this too, or I'd really be SOL! So . . . keep up the good work girls! We can beat the battle with our weight! |

It's my b-day today, so staying within my calories is gonna be a struggle and who in the world wants to workout on their b-day...not me!!! Oh well, can't completely deprive ourselves now can we? |

| OK, matty . . .chatter, chatter, chatter. It's just you and us 3 girls (aren't you the lucky man! - 3 hot women!) Thanks nikky for the kudos, same to you! We are doing fan--tas----tic!!! Hey, Shann, I don't have an addiction to cheetos, but I do like them and I have found that the 100 calorie packs they make now are actually fairly good, as are the cookie versions! The 100 calorie wheat thins (other than size) you wouldn't know the difference! I think I've turned into a 100 calorie pack addict!! Even the Hostess 100 calorie versions are too bad! I can't believe I've dropped 20 lbs and I know if it wasn't for this site I'd be struggling. My husband also started dieting and working out in September (way before I did) and he's lost 50 lbs, so if he can do it, so can we! Keep up the great work!! We are going to be some HOT, SMOKIN' mamas (and papa) this summer! LOL |

Charming- We are here to support you and help you if we can! But it sounds like there may be more issues than a posting board and help you with. Please, please, before something happens . . . talk to a counselor or trusted teacher at your school if you can't talk to your parents!!!! You need to eat healthy and it sounds like you are for the most part, but you also are obsessing about other aspects ("lose weight" and "count calories"). The staff at school can help you, or at least put you in touch with the people that can. Please, please, please, talk to someone!! We all worry about you! |

I just started this thing today too, so I would love to do this challenge ~ motivation is my problem, so I need a group to keep me going! Good Luck Everyone!!! Start Weight: 193.6lbs Goal Weight: 150lbs (for this challenge - 125lbs for total) Week 1 Weight: 193.6 lbs Week 2 Weight: 191.2 WHOO HOO! Week 3 Weight: 187 Week 4 Weight: 186.4 (hmmm...can't figure out how that's right, so will probably weigh again later or tomorrow and see!) DAMN PMS!!!! Week 5 Weight: 183.4 Yipee! 10 lbs down! Week 6 Weight: 179.2 Week 7 Weight: 179.8 (that time of the month...which really sucks!) Week 8 Weight: --- (hubby had an auto accident, kinda been busy!) Week 9 Weight: 175.8 Week 10 Weight: 172.2 (YIPEE!!! Half way there!) Week 11 Weight: 171.6 (why do we have to deal with water weight once a month? - NOT FAIR!!!)
