Surprise! It is I, arisen from the dead! I thought I would give everyone a final update. After the girl was summoned to the police, she and her parents promised to write a letter of apology. I declined to press charges (wish I had now). Guess what? Her parents must be absolutely worthless because we never got a letter. I would of sat my child down the moment we got home and made her write it. So sad. I tried to get the detective involved again, but he blew me off. I guess he was attending to more important cases involving arsonists and little murderers in the making, so I understand. I even went so far as to contact myspace and have them ban her. They contacted the detective and informed me that I would have to go through him again, so the little #&^* is still on there. I wish I had a happier ending, but the bottom line is hopefully the little *&^% learned her lesson, and my daughter was totally unmoved and unscathed by the whole deal. It never affected her at all, she just blew it off. I wish I had her character. The above poster is right. There are some fragile people out there who might not have the same attitude. |

Amy, that is wonderful news! I have not been on the boards either, I was surprised to see this in my email. A baby is a wonderful thing. You are going to find out what it is really like to love someone so much you could burst. I am so happy for you! I too have gained about 5 pounds. Not doing the right thing. And I am NOT preggers so I have no excuse. I am sure I will be back here hard and heavy after the first, when I usually try to get my **** together. Maria, how have you been? |

Surpise! It is moi...just checking in...I desperately need to get back on the band wagon. I have been away and just got on the scale and I have gained 4 pounds! Wendy, how are you doing? Hit the 60 pound mark yet? I don't know if you guys have heard the news about the latest hurricane, Gustav, but it is headed right in my direction. I am VERY nervous to say the least. I am headed to the store now to stock up on water and batteries before they are all gone.

Halloween! I have always been fascinated by the scary stuff. It is my favorite holiday, and we go all out with the decorations. I can't wait to take my 2 yr old trick or treating! |

For me, it was when I hit 29 and broke my leg. I was laid up for 8 weeks and managed to pack on 40 pounds in 3 months. I have been fighting the evil battle ever since and I am almost 40. |

I did the same thing in January. Mine was very deep, almost sliced a part of my finger off. I def. should of gotten stitches, but decided I did not want to wait in an ER for 10 hours so I just dealt with it. If it is very deep like mine, did you slice any nerves? It took about a month to heal to where I could get it wet. I still have little feeling in that finger and the doc told me the nerves could take years to regenerate or it might never get better. Hopefully yours is not as bad. I did all that the previous posters suggested. After about 2.5 weeks I would let it air dry during the night. It STILL bothers me. The skin on it feels too tight. I would sell this house, and buy a bigger one in the same area that I am in. Pay off loads of debt, buy a new car, and a house on a tropical island. I then would stash the rest away so I could prepare do whatever I want with the rest of my life. Oh! That would include tons of travel and seeing the world. |

It is what I have seemed to do for about 4 or 5 months now...I figured if I cut out the booze, that would save a tremendous amount of calories weekly (for me) and that within 10 days I would at least lose a pound. (I mean, c'mon, 1800 calories or more less???) but all I see is .5 difference. CRAP! Edited to add: It does not help that is has been around 100 degrees here. Miserably hot. You step outside and it saps all the energy right out of you. I am ready for the fall. |

Hi! I am still here, albeit not very active on the boards. I have been super busy! Don't fret about the 3 pounds. When I went on the cruise I gained 5 in 5 days, but lost most of it once I got home. Vacations are to enjoy!!! Where did you go? The storm actually missed us and hit Houston, where my brother is. Not a bad one, downgraded to a tropical depression, with winds and rain. No big deal around here. We don't get nervous unless it is a hurricane! I hope everyone is doing well. These last 10 days I have been totally on the wagon to see if that will help my lack of weight loss efforts. I don't notice a change. Of course, this evening I am meeting some old friends I have not seen in ages for drinks and dinner so...

I am taking Lilah to the doc for her 2 yr old check up and to check it out a burn. The mosquitos are fierce down here, and we were at a friends and she used a fogger (looks like a lawn blower, blows this mist out that kills the little bastards) and poor baby walked right into it. Has a 2nd degree burn that covers 1/2 of her calf! I am hoping the doc will give me some burn cream. She is a trooper and it does not seem to bother her as much as it does me! |

If that does not work, empty your purse and fill with activated charcoal (you can find at pet stores). I left a sippy cup of milk (can you imagine anything worse) and left for vacation for a week, and discovered it upon our return. It was a solid form when i found it. I washed the diaper bag but it still reeks. |

We just got back from a rinky-dink Carnival cruise to Progreso and Cozumel. Last year we went on a Royal Caribbean cruise to Aruba, St. Maarten, St. Thomas and Curacao, that went out of San Juan that was amazing. I highly recommend Royal Caribbean. |

I am back! We got in yesterday afternoon and I am still wiped out. We did have fun, but if anyone takes a cruise, I highly suggest Royal Carribean versus Carnival. I know we were spoiled on the first one. We hardly ever saw Sloane, who of course met up with a bunch of kids her age and had a ball. I ate too much and drank too much. Much to my dismay, I stupidly got on the scale this morning and gained 5 pounds in 5 days. Holy Crap! I am thinking that some of it has to be water, and I plan to weigh again in a few days. I went to the store and got all kinds of healthy stuff so nothing good for me for awhile. I am actually sick of food! Wendy, 50 pounds is a major accomplishment. I am so happy for you. I bet the take out will jump start your metabolism again. Happy Anniversary Jo! How many years? |

Ok ladies, I will be out of commission for the next week...we leave in two days and I have been so busy. On a funny note, I went and got a bikini wax today. I have only had one before but forget how incredibly painful it was. Just had to share. Hopefully I will come back with an awesome tan and within my usual 5 pound fluctuation. Hey ladies! Just thought I would drop in for a quick note. Soooo busy. Only 4 days til our cruise! I have not even started to think about packing and I still need to buy some essentials. Today we took Slade to the doc and he got a clean bill of health, and tomorrow I bring him in for blood work. Speaking of oleander, there is a "haunted" plantation not too far from here. It has been featured on several shows. There was a slave who wanted to endear herself to being a house slave to the master, so she concocted a scheme to make his kids sick by putting oleander into a cake she baked. Her plan was to nurse them and be the hero. Well, she put way too much and killed the kids and the wife. She was hung from a tree on the property and still haunts the plantation, along with the kids and wife. Everytime I hear oleander I think of that story! |
