I feel for you!  I got pretty much squished yesterday because I made the mistake of posting in a forum here about a tough situation.  Today I took it out on 1/2 a bag of mint truffle kisses.  All you can do is move forward.  Try to make better decisions at future meals.  One high cal meal didn't get you here, and one will not completely derail you, either.  Good luck!

Thanks to all of you with suggestions and prayers and to those of you who understand that is not a black and white issue.  It's a whole mess of gray.

There is not public transportation in this area, but most of the city can be reached by golf cart.  I actually don't mind driving the golf cart.  It's just slow and sucks in rainy weather.  Gov't assistance is all fine and good, but I don't want my kids in that environment.  The one government assisted apartment complex here is overrun with drugs and crime.  It is not fair for my kids to have to give up living in a house, a neighborhood they can actually play outside in, and their activities just because their dad is a dill weed.  We can not afford 2 households.  We can barely afford 1.  So no, it is not as easy as stay or leave.  The fallout would be too great.  So the option is stay and suck it up for my kids.  I just hate being so alone.

I'd probably go with Mexican.  Loads of choices and most of them fattening!

how much can you make if you get a job and how many of your kids would you have to pay for day care for? (dont count your husband)

can you afford to work - make a profit?

you  can work and leave or stay and be supermom (thats a privilege) and deal with bigchild.

While I'm flattered that you think I'm a supermom, it's not that difficult if you are organized to be a scout leader, room mom, and whatnot.  The point was I'm not lazy as he is implying.  They are very few jobs that pay enough to afford daycare, my own place, and food, etc.  I already have a job.  It will never be a full time thing because they are too cheap for that.  I have resumes out, but am limited to the immediate area as I only have a golf cart for transportation.  My husband takes my car and leaves me the 2 seater van that almost never runs.  It's not as easy as leave or stay.  If it were do you really think I'd still be here?

I hope he feels better soon!  It's so hard to see your little one in pain.  I went through it with my boy.  He ended up having tonsils and adenoids out when he was 4.  He's 7 now and almost never sick beyond coughing with his asthma.  I would give him Tylenol for the pain and just hold him a lot.  Sleeping in his car seat helped, too, because it kept him more upright.  Good luck!

Original Post by chrissy1988:

list a food in each category that you only have during special occasions. preferably something you like...and will you be eating it this year?

1. candy - Peppermint bark - So easy and whole fam thinks I'm genius with confections.

2. cookie/bar - Butterscotch ginger cookies - Another easy, but tastes complicated goodie.

3. main dish (turkey, honey ham, tamales, etc) - Hubs is a chef, so Christmas is always something cool and yummy.  I do love my MIL's turkey, too.

4. side dish (baked yams, green bean casserole, etc.) - Purple mashed potatoes.

5. pie/cake - MIL's apple cranberry pie.  Yummers!

This was fun!  I am also more motivated to run now, so I can enjoy these goodies guilt free!

I guess I'm a horrible mother.  I say no to my kids all the time :)  For their lunches, I have a bunch of large cookie cutters and they get a choice of shape.  Unless it's a holiday, the they get the holiday shape, like it or not!

How is your training going?  I'm not having any trouble with the mileage part, but I REALLY hate running in heat.  I was dying last week and it was only in the upper 60's!

When I'm training for a race, I do a lower mileage week every 7 to 8 weeks.  I bike or hit the elliptical for cardio instead.

Go with the lower number for your drivers license and use the other one to make sure you're not creeping back up.

It should stop you that he is just a boyfriend and not your husband.  The best thing for a child is two loving and devoted parents.  The fantasy baby and the real baby are two totally different things.  That being said, when you are ready, truly ready, motherhood is awesome.  Well, most of the time :)

I won $5 on a lotto ticket and went to the curb shop to cash it.  I had a Cavalier at the time with the pop out quarter panel windows in the back.  I had climbed in them before when I'd locked the keys inside.  This time, though, it shattered when I pulled it out.  The $5 lotto win cost me $90!

I was rear ended at a dead stop in April of last year.  I have three herniated cervical discs.  Running is still out of the question.  The other driver was "in good hands" and they are pretty much screwing me.  I have a good attorney, but it's taking forever.  I don't have health insurance so I can't go to the doctor anymore.  So good luck.  You're going to need it.

You could try cafepress.com and make your own.  My son is weird about that, as well.  I put a long sleeve thermal under a short sleeve and then the hoodie on top.

My husband is a chef, so he always does something amazing for Christmas.  The only thing is, he won't tell anyone what we are having until Christmas Eve.  He usually hasn't decided until a couple of days before that.  I usually bake a bunch of stuff, but my oven is out of commission.  Hubby can fix it, but I barely see him between Thanksgiving and Christmas.  I'm a restaurant widow this time of year!
