Fitness Does Muscle Have "Memory"? Nov 20 2008

Very true!

I was a level 8 gymnast, but I quit about 4 years ago. Last night I stepped into a gym(nastics center) for the first time since then. Not counting stretching and warming up, I was able to throw level 7 skills (front handspring fronts, backhanspring layouts) within half an hour!

My form was just as good, but I didn't get as high as I used to. The coach explianed that while my muscles remembered the technique, they're weren't as strong when it came to tumbling. My legs are probably just as string as they were 4 years ago, just not in a gymnastics sense.  So in my case it has a lot less to do with tentative vs. confident performance (you either throw a skill or you don't).

I eat the same kind, I have one almost everyday!

It one of the few low-cal, low-fat protein sources I like (granted, I'm a vegetarian). If you don't eat a lot of salty foods, there really is no reason to avoid string cheese. With the exception of CC, all I've ever heard about low fat string cheese is good.

haha, good to know I'm not the only one to have these dreams.

'cuz ya, I feel the guilt and disappointment and then I wake up and feel sooo relieved I didn't actually eat a carcass.

Interesting theory, gi-jane. Actually, I've been trying to save up my money, even though I really wanna buy a guitar and learn how to play it. Could that be it?

Glucomannan!

'tis a super absorbent fiber pill found in most vitamin/nutrition store.

That stuff keeps really reduces appetite.

I think it's working a little too well for me though cuz right now, after a run, I've eaten less than 1,000.

But, ya, just be careful you don't restrict *too* much!
