Lost another lb, that's 9 so far, but it is def slowing down, which is where my motivation starts to wane. I get such a kick when I see the scales going down but as it starts to slow I find it tough. BUT I will get to target no matter what, and at the rate I am losing it won't be too much longer, I guess I am just impatient!! How're the rest of you guys doing??? xx |

I am posting tis from a POV of a very good friend of mine, I am lucky as my BF is tall and big- not fat, but def not skinny and very muscular. However my best friend's partner is tiny, same height as her at 5'5, but small boned and slim. My friend is curvy and cuddly, with an amazing waist but all woman, big boobs and bum and a well rounded belly. HER PARTNER ADORES HER!!!!!! My friend is unhappy with her weight and size, but from being outside the relationship I can see how truly in love her partner is with every part of her. Maybe just goes to show that we are loved whatever our size. Certainly that we should change for ourselves, not so that we can match the size of our loved ones. xx |

Original Post by willin1310: LOL, I just checked out my happy weight which is 122, I am 5'8.5, and to get to 122 I think I'd have a major struggle on my hands!!! Just checked on calculator and in my world that is 8 and a half stone, scary... At 140 I'm an English Size 8, which is USA 4 or 2, so ........................................!! |

I weigh every day but shouldn't. I know that weight fluctuates, so I don't start to panic majorly till I see an upwards trend for like 3 days or so. BUT I do feel that for me this works. However, as I posted elsewhere on the site, I have to say that when I get to target I would like to throw the damn scales in the bin!!! xx |

HI Guys, Sorry to sound really boring, cos I really agree with rewards and motivation totally. BUT ... I got to thinking that perhaps our motivation is THAT WE ARE WORKING TOWARDS ACHIEVING WHAT WE WANT TO ACHIEVE, and our reward is ACHIEVING IT!!! I have only come to that way of thinking because sometimes cash is tight and therefore big rewards are not always possible. Like I say really sorry to sound such a bore. xx |

Original Post by alittlehelphere: Hi, recovering from an eating disorder sucks but you have to stick with it, I have been in 'recovery' for a while, but the binge/restrict cycle, and the voices in your head telling you how you should be don't go away. I too put on weight during recovery, and am now 'dieting' to lose around 16lbs. I am in my healthy BMI, but wanna be at the lower end. Pls, pls just stick to being healthy, so don't push yourself to any limits.... I know where you're coming from, take care xx |

HI Dalzar, Go careful, I weigh in every day, as a result of many years of having an eating disorder and it can make you obsessive. Also, your weight changes all the time, I can have a real good day, weigh in the next day and find I'm a lb heavier. I also get stressed if I'm away from home and can't do a daily check. Far better to weigh once a week. That's not so long that if you've had any minor slip ups you can't sort them out. I am seriously tempted to get to goal and throw the damn scales away!!!!!!!!! After all, we all know when we have gained, by the fit of our clothes and how we look, all the scales do is confirm it. xx |

Hi Guys, I have been pointed in your direction from the motivation forum, I am a recovering bulimic, 16 years at the face of it. I am at a BMI of 24 now, hoping to get to 20 - my little safety net. (I was very underweight but over the last year gained substantially, am now panicing) As I have days where I slip back towards the ED hellhole it would be good to be able to post in a place where people understand what this life's like. Having said all of that I work hard everyday to overcome my demons and try to be happy. |

Original Post by chris1208: My biggest motivation is vanity too .... and also a safety net. Knowing that I am at the higher end of the normal BMI it would feel safer to be at the lower end, just in case of any minor slip ups. |

How do people react???? Not great, the few friends that know about my bulimia get worried. My bf likes me the way I am. My Mum generally encourages me dieting as she is overweight and needs the motivation of having someone else on a diet!!!!!! |

My long term (Not so long!!!) goal is 19 lbs +/-, but my present goal is to be at 150 by my birthday in about a month, which is 9lbs....... Then I get a new outfit to wear out that night!!! My goal is to be at 140, I am 5'8 and would love to be able to attain the weights that shorter people can!!! 140 for me is low to mid range of healthy BMI but when I read of people getting to 120 or less the sound of 140 sucks!!! |

I guess in some of us the fat fight is never over!!! You just have to see all of this as a lifestyle change FOR LIFE, and not a diet. We all slip afterwards... You get to target and than wanna start living again!!! I have got to the stage now where I realise that we have to live carefully forever, but this is a good thing, for our health and happiness. I am still struggling with it but can feel my attitude beginning to change. Stick with it, keep coming on this site, and most of all don't give up all the things you have learned once you get to target. I am at 19lbs to go, so our goals are similar. xx |

Thank God there are others out there struggling on the binge cycle ... I am a former bulimic, petrified of falling in to that hell hole again. I am in control most of the time but every so often I binge. Not a few hundred extra cals in 1 sitting, more like I wake up in the morning and spend that day eating, on and off, all day. I know that I have triggers, boredom, tiredness, feeling sad and emotional. Trying very hard to find alternatives to dumbing down my emotions with food. Coming on this site certainly helps. But I am with you all .... So heres to day 1 xx |

Good luck, my Mum is in the same boat as you, so I can understand that right now you're probably quite stressed and concerned. Set mini targets and reward yourself with non food items when you hit the targets. Stick with it xx |

Right there with you .... My BF loves to eat out, big greasy spanish meals, has a HUGE appetite, but he is very active. He hates my diet ... although after some long heart to hearts is beginning to be a little more understanding. Look after yourself, so you're there for your kids. Keep on the right track, and remember that the only person who can control what goes in your mouth is YOU. xx |

HI, I am 31, 32 in a few weeks eeeeeeeeeeeeeek!!!!!! I am 5'8 1/2 and weigh 159, which is a BMI of 24 ish. I am wanting to get down to 140, which would put me at low to mid range of a healthy BMI. I struggle daily as a former bulimic, that gets easily obsessed and equally easily falls off the diet wagon on to the binge cycle. Would LOVE some understanding buddies, like you guys, who although fall in to the healthy BMI range are still wanting to shift the last few lbs. Keep going girls!!!!!!!! |
