normal blood pressure readings vary from person to person with 120/80 being the norm. if u are usually a 110/60, that's your personal norm. if you dip below 90 as your top (or systolic pressure) or higher than 139 (top number) you should contact your doctor to determine if u suffer from low or high blood pressure, which are both serious.

as for sodium, you should try not consume more than 2500g a day (according to canada's food guide) and i know this can be difficulty living in a dorm (i lived there once before, and i belive it contributed to my weight gain for a number of reasons.)

if you must have canned food, try finding a low sodium version of the product.

yes, you are not only at rish of developing high blood pressure, but also you are putting a great strain on your kidneys too.

ground beef, lean or not, still contains fat and will need to be drainded.

next time, try ground turkey or chicken (it's leaner and doesn't have as much fat)

or you could boil your groung beef first to get rid of any excess fat.

first off, congrats on your weight loss!!

secondly, you need to eat more than 500 cals a day. Sure you will lose weight quicker, but you can't live your life healthy with so little, expecially if you are running 60 minutes a day.

and last, what makes your best friends boyfriend and expert? tell him to keep his unmotivational words to himself.

 you guys are sooo lucky, i guess i need to find a better group of friends. last year i lost 35lbs and my 2 best gal friends hadn't seen me in months. both knew that i was working out, trying desperately to lose weight.

when i traveled to visit them for 2 weeks neither of them commented on my weight loss.( both of them are over weight). i was angry that my best friends weren't as supportive as i had thought that they'd be.

we all know how hard it is to lose weight. when someone has lost a significant amont of weight, i think it's great to say "you look great!!"

often people don't comment on weight because it makes them insecure with themselves. some people just don't like to see others suceed because it makes them more of a failure.

very interesting point. it would be interesting to see, plus...medical science has been "noodling with the endocrine system" for years...how many people still have their tonsils or adenoids?

on the can (monster) it says that u should only consume 500ml a day. so i'm sure that if u are drinking 2-4 cans a day could cause long term problems. everything is great in moderation. but you don't want to over stimulate your heart.

well, in terms of "health", raw sugar is the best. regular white sugar has been bleached and has additives. so if you are trying to stay clear of artificial sweetners for health reasons, go for natural raw sugar.

be carefull when adding seasoning, all that extra sodium can cause you to bloat.

i spray my popcorn with a no fat no cal cooking spray (like pam) and then sprinkle it with cinnamon, the cinnamon promotes weight loss and gives a delicious flavor.

i reheat the shrimp in olive oil and garlic with a little bit of crushed chillies, then i mix it with whole wheat pasta and crushed tomatoes. it's quite healthy and full of flavor. you could even add some spinach and other veggies too.
