i read in an earlier post that you said we only need 25% if we want to built muscle, i dnt but i thought u need this much as it help your muscles recover faster after working out. whats everyones fews on this?

i think scales are a great way of gettin to know ur measurements by eye tho, i dont use them when im in a rush but i try to most days..they are great to have if u are used to eating large portin sizes. before i started dietin i would have a FULL bowl of cereal and think, thats what it looks like on the box so that must be a portion size..haha i now know what 30g looks like thanx to my scales...i dont mind if im a few grams under or over now and again. i understand y you dont wana get them...my flate mates can eat me under the table and still look like sticks, and think im mad for measuring every thing out, i just tell them if they had my matabolisim they would too!

hey strawberry-dolly

i was told fats 20-30%, potein 25-35% and carbs 40-50%. your sodium is quite good  and try and hit around 25 grams for fiber.i find it hard to eat so much protein too, but try and add some with every meal.

and maybe have protein for snacks, like nuts, cottage cheese/ hummus on celery, peanut butter with an apple.

it looks like u eat alot of fruit..thats great but i can only say what iv been told, im no expert but fruit is high in sugars and you should try and stick to eatin 2 portions a day and get your other 5 a day from veg

hope it helps!

it is really gud for u and yummy!..it is alot healthier and more than likly less calories if u make it urself...i luv the spicy ones too, but as for eatin the full tube, watch out if u are watchin ur calorie intake, it is one of those foods thats is a little high because of the olive oil in it..but i thinks kinda the same rule as avocado's ect its high calorie-ish but its all the gud fats and is much better to eat the full pot of that than picking on crisps n chocolate. maybe if u are buyin it out of the tube get the 'healthy option' choice or look around for low calorie pots. if ur a dip fan...i am! salsa is also really easy to make and is really low in cals. i usually make a pot of each, i little more of the salsa, that way im getting my snack attack fix but its not all on the hummus. hope that helps x

yea i agree soo much beta to use the full chicken, im a student too and i do a full chicken on a sunday and have chicken breast for my dinna, take most of the meat off the bone and make a curry and then use the bones and some of the meat for a soup or broth.....those meals last me for most of the week!...It takes up a few hours on out of ur one day but it means for the rest of the week u just have to reheat it..and saves me a fortune! hope it works for you x

hi Marianne, im nicole, im 21, 22 next Saturday woow! but bit worried coz im going home  so will be around loads of nice food, mams cooking and birthday cakes! ahhh..im a student at Kingston uni  (uk too) and have been dieting since new years, i have found it quite easy with living in halls and only eating and cooking for myself i have no tempting food or people to get me off track but think its going to be hard next week. So could do with any motivation or support i can get!

I too am a yo-yo dieter and a yo-yoer when it comes to the gym bit of an all or nothing girl :/

Well done for signing up for the marathon! maybe we can both push each other and hopefully keep each other on track. I trying to lose around half a stone and tone up alot so need a gym buddie lol! xxx

you could try out making your fav meal yourself with your own ing. i make huge big batches and freeze them in portions so if my house mates or friends are round n order take away i always have my healthy one.....to be far i actually think making them tastes soooooo much beter..its a little expensive to get all the spices ect in but once u have them they last a life time and works out alot cheaper than ordering in. i also had a bet with one friend how said 'but making and preparing takes sooo long' by the time his had arrived i had made and eaten mine!..worth havin a go anyway x
Weight Loss How bad am i doing? Jan 26 2008
17:39 (UTC)

meat it expensive so try beans and pulses, u can buy them for next to nothing and they last a life time..and the best thing is they r well low in cals! wooow. u could make soups, lentil currys, bean burgers and hummus all really gud. also maybe watch ur sugar intake, even if you are eating only 1200-1500 just keep an eye on that you aint having too many things in one day that are high in sugar/ sweetener, its great that your choosing  sugar free and low fat desserts etc but generally they still have other things to sweeten then, maybe thats partly why your gaining weight and your cravings.

also it might help but if there days when i cant get to the gym, when ever i can i do 60 really quick star jumps, it sound daft but even just if ur watching tv, do them while the adverts are on, or while the kettle boils it doesnt sound like much but its all adds up!

sorry if its not much help, hope you get to where you wana be for the wedding!

Weight Loss cabbage diet? Jan 20 2008
17:12 (UTC)
16

i did the weight watchers cabbage soup diet just after xmas, it promised 7 pounds, but think this depends on your weight already, i did lose a few pounds, its great if ur feelng bloated, bit of a detox, my skin was glowing by the 7th day.

the cabbage soup is just like a broth, quite nice and you can eat as much fruit and veg as you like on certain day. you also have 2 meat days...its alrite, if you do follow it i would be carefull on your fruit days not to eat too much as my sugar levels were thru' the roof, stick to the soups mostly. i would only say do it for a week tho, if you have to, but i think filling up on soup before a meal is i healthier way to go about it. good luck  xx

yea soup is a great one..i am a poor student too n hate cooking but i buy a huge 2k bag of carrots for 99p ! bargan n make a big pot of carrot and coriander soup once a week. i do the same with what ever is going cheap at the market. i keep half out for the week n freeze the rest in servings so altho it mite take bout 20mins to cook, you really dont have to do much after that.

all u do is add a veg stock cube n powdered coriander (always gud to have in) n a bit pepper to taste ....well nice, cheap, healthy and quick!
