| Pregnancy & Parenting | Anyone have a successful pregnancy after miscarriage? | Dec 08 2008 21:04 (UTC) |

Hello I had a miscarriage this week last year and I now have a 6 week old son beside me wimpering away in his play gym. YOU WILL go on to have your little bundle just give yourself a little time till your ready. We didn't mean to get pregnant so quickly. Its just statistics and one in 4 women they say have a miscarriage. So there is no reason why you have now had one and will never have one again. Take extra folic acid in the first trimester and don't excercise or night time activity!! I didn't drink coffee this time either as I had alot of that in my first trimester last time. Thats all I did different, I doubt it made any difference but who knows. Louise |

I am now due a baby on Oct 28th so losing weight for my wedding isn't really a problem anymore!! Getting married July 19th so three months early now. Only put on 5lbs through the pregnancy so I think I have been very good. Don't want loads to lose at the other end. Start swimming tomorrow too which will help. Louise |

| Your right, try and lose weight before dress shopping as otherwise in Europe it can be quiet depressing. I beleive in the States the dresses are in all sizes wereas in Ireland they are size 10/12 (US8/10 I think).......if I got pinned into a dress once more I was going to scream and I am only a size 14 (UK) | |||

Worry about it isn't really going to help and if anything will make a miscarriage more likely. I can say that as I had one last year, if you have seen a scan with the baby's heart beating this is a great milestone and is the reason why most people end up miscarriaging (baby heart doesn't beat). I know I became so absorbed by my first pregnancy and dreaded even going to the loo incase I saw soemthing bad!! Just try and stay busy, eat healhty and get walking. After that at this stage there is really nothing you can do. When you are stressed you realise adrneline and this won't be good for your pregnancy. Get some nice music and lie down on the sofa and listen to it. Do deep breathing or anything to help you chill out more. Good luck. Louise |

| When I drink alcohol this defintly happens to me. My rings get tighter and the next morning my face is all puffy and any chin I have is gone. Suppose its the toxins, take not what is it your eating that makes that happen. | |||

My aim is to get back to a BMI of 25 as then I know I am healthy and if I lose less then all the better. No idea what is BMI 25 for me but I will worry about that after I have my first half stone off. thanks. How are you doing?

How much do you want to lose? I would be happy with 15lbs but 22 would be amazing. I have to say I am only on day 4 and it really seems to be working for me. I have had to really cut back my portions to stay around 1200. Not managed it yet more like 1400 but I am sure I will slowly lose anyway. I was so depressed wedding dress shopping as I felt like an elehant trying to imagine myself in a dress that was 2 or 3 sizes too small!! I will look again at the end of Feb when I have lost about 9 lbs. That should help. I want to lose the weight now not a month before the wedding. Plus I am doing it for my health more than the wedding as my BMI is 27 something. Do you want to try and help stay motivated? |

I know how you feel. I have been talking about dieting and weight loss for two years and gone up two sizes!!!!!! I think I focus on 'dieting' too much and am then hungrey all day!! So now I am trying to focus on changing my lifestyle so I am healthy and the weight should drop off as a secondary if I do the first thing. I am shocked at how easy it is to use up 1050 calories which i have been given. |
