It floors me when no one offers to give up their seat for the little old lady or the obviously pregnant woman. It's like people just put their heads down or put their nose in their book and "pretend" not to see them. It also seems to me that a lot of women just expect the men to give up their seats and since they are women, they shouldn't have to sacrifice theirs. Sure, I'd like to sit, but I gladly give up my seat to someone who needs it more than I do. People suck.

Sixteen pounds of muscle in 8 weeks? You've got to be kidding me. And then you want to lose all of this "muscle" that you have so easily gained? At the rate you are going, you're going to look like he-man in two months tops. LOL

So you are an anomoly? Can't you just eat a carrot, lift weight and run around the block? Diet pills aren't the answer. You *might* lose the weight but it'll come back once you stop taking them. |

Your lawyer is correct, you don't have to tell him when the court date is. It is his responsibility to find out and show up. However, since you will have to interact with him for the rest of your life in regards to your son, I would give him the courtesy of a phone call as a reminder of the date/time. No reason to make it any more difficult than it already is. If he doesn't show up, at least you can say you tried. Good luck!

Our family hasn't felt a crunch yet, but I wanted to start cutting back before we feel the heat. Most of the things I have cut back on were frivolous things. 1 - I color my own hair now - OMG I can do it for $7 instead of $100 and it looks just as good as the salon. I kick myself for how much I could have saved over the years. 2 - Bought and inexpensive elliptical and cancelled my gym membership as of this month. 3 - Cancelled our pooper scooper service for our backyard (talk about frivolous!). Make the son do it for free now. ;o) 4 - We don't go out to eat much anymore and when we do we keep it to less expensive places. 5 - Ebaying items I don't use anymore 6 - Washing and ironing more instead of dry-cleaning 7 - Not buying new clothes even though I have been shrinking in size. This one has been tough! 8 - Only buying what we need at the grocery store. 9 - Take the train to work instead of driving. This means filling up with gas once every 3 weeks instead of once or twice a week. I have a huge truck and it gets horrible gas mileage! I would sell it if I could but would be upside down now. 10 - I try to bring my breakfast and lunch to work. And I'm sure I'll be adding things going forward. I really like the idea of starting my own garden. Especially how expensive fruit and vegetables have gotten!

| Health & Support | Esophageal spasms that feel like a heart attack | May 29 2008 17:25 (UTC) |

Hi Techdog. I suffered an espohageal spasm last year and it was one of the scariest things I have ever experienced. I really thought I was having a heart attack, it felt like an elephant was sitting on my chest and my arms went numb. I was rushed to the hospital for a possible heart attack and after a day in the hospital and a gazillion tests later, it was determined I had an esphageal spasm. My chest stayed sore for several days after that. I do have a mild case of acid reflux. Since that incident I take a Prilosec anti-acid pill every morning when I wake up and luckily have not experienced anything like that again. Hope you don't either! |

It's genetics plain and simple. Either you have the bone structure, metabolism, etc. or you don't. You can work out all day, every day, but it still doesn't mean you will look like a VS model.

I don't buy it and I've seen these scams played out so many times. I do have to say the police report was a nice touch, but probably just one of his props. They all usually have something to "confirm" their story. So this guy got robbed. His entire life was in his wallet? He has no bank account that he can call to get money? He has no credit cards that need to be turned off and reissued? He has no one (parents/friends) that can wire him money? No job that could give him an advance? Now he has your business card with you name and where you work. At least it was only $20 and if it makes you happier, then I guess it was a cheap "high" for the day.

You can also ask the chef not to use oils, butter, etc. when preparing your meal. If you are going to a "nice" restaurant they will usually accommodate most or all of your nutritional requests. |
