The way this rules my mind is personal for me, and I don't care to share the specific aspects publicly. However, I'd be glad to talk to the original poster about it, since I don't know what life is like without it.

I completely agree with you.

There is nothing wrong with women who are naturally skinny.  However most girls that are skinny nowadays are anorexic.  People are just saying that the majority of women with an average metabolism have some curves.  No one is saying being below or a little above makes you ugly

People are just trying to promote the way most women look - which isn't a size 00.

I don't even know if I ahould bother getting all hot and bothered. Had this generalization been omitted, everything else said was quite reasonable..

Weight Gain pressured to gain, regretting it. Sep 05 2009

Original Post by laurentothemax:

i'm 27 and my weight loss was really slow...about a year and a half. most people that i eat with daily are surprised when they see that i actually eat more than they do. except instead of burgers and fries, my normal dinner will be like 4 oz of grilled chicken, brown rice, a double portion of veg, sparkling water or maybe a glass of wine and something like yogurt and fruit for dessert. my workout routine is light, maybe a half hour of yoga combined with a moderately active job. on days when the weather is pretty (rare) i might go for a leisurely jog. i guess what i don't understand is that i do what everyone says i should be doing, and i'm just thin. i dont feel like i should apologize for it or start eating big macs everyday to make everyone else feel good. i have zero health problems, all my bloodwork and vitals are well within healthy ranges.

I think you know yourself best, and as long as your health isn't compromised, do what makes you feel happiest. I think that posting this in the weight gain forum comes with the chance of people looking for an eating-disordered mentality where there may not necessarily be one. Also keep in mind five pounds is a pretty minor fluctuation, and may not be 100% actual body mass.

The Lounge Eyeliner Aug 04 2009

Original Post by octo-luv:

i recently got bobbi brown's gel liner. comes with a very fine brush & i can apply a nice sweep the easiest i've ever done, doesn't clump, goes on where you put it, etc.

i tried it first before taking a hot bath, just to see how well it would stay. didn't stay too well. however i tried it again before a wedding and i think once it sets, it seems to stay on forever.

the wedding celebrations lasted 24 hours (ugh), maybe it could've stayed on longer but i needed to sleep. washes off easily enough too. its a little expensive tho & right now only 2 colours, brown & black.

I think this is the right approach, only I use Cargo's smoky eye palette with a Stila angled brush.I like the Bobbi Brown Gel Ink stuff though. The aforementioned brush is a bit pricey but once you have it you can turn any eyeshadow into eyeliner.

Foods Strawberries... Jun 01 2009

Original Post by jennya222:

Yes, I like strawberries too (pineapple is my most favourite fruit) followed by strawberries.

I was just wondering how do people eat their strawberries??  I just have them on their own or with a Muller Light Strawberry yoghurt- but I have heard people having them with black pepper and also balsamic vinegar- anybody tried this??

Also, I was shopping in Waitrose a few weeks ago and I came across something new- Strasberries- they are like a cross between a strawberry and a rasberry, they are really a wild strawberry.  Has anybody tried them??  I wanted to try them but at £4 for a tiny punet- I decided they were too expensive.

i cut them up really small and put sweetener on them, unless they really don't need it.

, it may be triggered by molestation, ocd, depression or lack of identity or wanting for a sense of control and accomplishment but all in all it all goes back to not gaining weight. otherwise people would have picked something else to obssess over and punish themselves with instead of food. face it i gave you the definition of anorexia and it is exactly what i and other people said, anorexia nervosa is a term utilized by psychologists to diagnos and describe a set of phenomena and that is the definition and critera they go by so if you dont have those symptoms you have a different mental illness than anorexia nervosa.

Anorexia is not "triggered" by an isolated cause. There's underlying factors as well. And OCD is not a trigger, having OCD and an eating disorder are correlated because they tend to go together a lot.

you can't generalize a disorder which may occur differently in each individual. that is why you are pissing people off. The dictionary definition doesn't mean **** in the real world.

it's not hunger. all your sensations are heightened, including taste. It's a very powerful hypnotic-I mean, if you stay up you're literally tripping. I would take it when already in bed if I were you(I was on it for years and it often caused delusion that very proposterous things were a very, very good idea. Such as going to a friend's house in my socks or drawing all over myself. Also a dangerous truth potion.

No not a jackass im just pointing out a very interesting observation something that could be at the core of why people have anorexia.  see it is very hard for people to find balance in their live, how do you encourage someone who is anorexic or food obsessed to eat normal when the norm in developed countries is eating to obesity.  Face it its hard to live and eat balanced in a world full of extremes you have so many obese people that eat until they can hardly walk and become diabetic and continue eating poorly even after they have limbs aputated i mean you have 4th graders now that are taking statins, and food (too much of it) is the problem of all this.  So how do you personally approach eating while not treating food as an enemy. its not calloused either, people are fat because they eat too much and people are too skinny because they dont eat enough, thermodynamics. how do you find balance in your life?

you're quite the theorist. i'd walk away quietly if i were you.

aghh i knew this would be a fiasco

btw I meant "healthy" not "health.

The question is, did you see anything that made you see things a little differently, or maybe see others' viewpoints?

I appreciated those responses which were reasonable and civil, from any viewpoint on the subject. I had to clarify that I was excluding those who displayed unhealthy behavior in my original statement. What I was trying to get across was that I feel like the need to moderate so many posts advocating an unhealthy diet/ lifestyle has , over time, led  to stringent standards and intolerance of many people posting what could be a doctor- , not caloriecount-, approved weight. I don't think these numbers are universal, and I think the uptight-ness could be . . .toned down a little, on a case-by-case basis.i wasn't looking for everyone to agree with me. Just thought it was worth bringing up.
