This is a great topic for me. I drink one glass of fat free milk a day, black coffee, and the rare (really rare) diet soda. Other than that it is water - except for my alcohol problem. I can't seem to not drink alcohol - mainly beer and wine. But way too much. I can drink a bottle of wine in one night. And I do most nights. That really adds up. I also work in a bar three nights a week and I drink a lot at the end of the night. I thought I could cut down to moderately drinking but it doesn't seem possible. I am going to have to cut it out completely. Not only is it messing with my weight loss and fitness goals it's not good for me - I physically don't feel good a lot. I hope I can do it. It's really hard because I really like to drink! Thanks for listening to my rant |

I'm in to join you. I starting running last year, did it for awhile, then fell off the diet/exercise wagon. I'm ready to get back on the wagon. I want to run 5 times a week also. |

Wow. Thanks freedomfrom. That's a great way to look at it. I do suck at scheduling. I bet if I focus on that as a goal it would really help. |

I like Hellmann's also. I like a lot of mayo so to reduce how much I use I smush half of a small avocado and mix it with the mayo. SO GOOD! |

Thanks for the response k-loo. The pepper spray thing is a good idea. xeonicus - kung fu would be cool :) unfortunately i'm not home enough for a dog nor do i have the money for a gym - or kung fu for that matter pgeorgian - i am worried about assault.

Hi, I haven't actually quit smoking but I really would like to!! It's a gross habit and it interfers with my running - I really want to be a good runner. littlemalynda - what a great idea to subsitute ciggs with veggies. Part of the reason I haven't quit is because I am afraid of weight gain. I am going to try your technique. Congrats to everyone that has quit smoking! CW: 129 GW: 105 |

Forgot to weigh yesterday. Today's weight: 129 I totally gained. I'm thinking of going on this "detox" diet for a few days just to get the ball rolling. There is one by Jay Robb called the Fruit Flush Diet. Anyone tried it?

That's so interesting you bring up the deficit aim, nursescarels. I was thinking about this issue this morning. I am also sticking to the 500 mark but I realized that's only 1 lb a week and I would like to lose more - but I want to be healthy. My plan so far is to increase exercise on the days I have time but I know I won't have that extra time every day. I don't know what to do on the days I can't workout extra because you aren't suppose to go under 1200 cals a day. Anyway, that's the best I've come up with so far. If anyone else has more suggestions that would be great!

Happy Monday everyone, SW: 127 Weigh in today: 126.8 I didn't lose anything really. Its my own fault. I did really good until Thursday - at that point I lost focus and started making excuses to eat poorly and drink too much alcohol. I think I am going to have to pretty much stop drinking altogether for the next month to really see any progress. I drink way too much. |

| Totally don't let the scale freak you out. You are doing awesome. I always start bloating a few days, sometimes more, before my TOM and the not pooping things - that will add weight. Again, you are doing great - hang in there! | |||

This thread is so funny!! I get looks at the office all the time. I always take the stairs, workout everyday at lunch, always snack/eat healthy food. I also never eat the sweets or birthday cakes people bring in. I have worked here two years and people still make a comment that I don't eat the birthday cakes. On my birthday they buy a cake for them and a fruit plate for me! Cool :) |

I have been working with a personal trainer for several months twice a week. A couple of weeks ago I went to a Pilates class (had never been before) and I could not believe how sore I was!! I thought since I had been working out it would not be that tough. Now I go to Pilates and do weights. I figure with both I will get great results! |

| I'm in. I need a short term goal to motivate me too. I also bartend at a Irisih Pub and we go all out for St. Paddy's Day. It would be nice to lose some weight for the celebration. It won't make my goal weight (still another 25 pounds before that) but anything would be good!! | |||
