| i'm a huge beer drinker. And when most of my friends call & say "wanna hang out?" it usuallly means, "wanna go drink at a smoky bar?". So I've been able to cut the beer out, which is really hard. Not one beer for a whole month! but I am not able to go out and not drink at all so I'll have vodka and sugar free red bull (if they have it) and it's about 75 calories. I'll usually have two but I need to make room in my calorie budget for it. It helps if they give me the whole can of red bull so I can keep filling up my drink, but not get as many calories. | |||

Hi, I just got a new puppy recently as well and she definitely takes my mind of ME because I have to care for HER - she's no. 1. It's funny how dogs make you feel good. Someone is ALWAYS happy to see you when you get home - even though they've been in their kennel all day, they're in a good mood no matter what!! I'm glad you're feeling great about yourself! |

| I think it sounds normal because for weight loss, you just cut off 500 or so from what your maintenance number of calorie intake is. You sound super active and that's why it's so high, plus you're at a healthy weight. I wish I had the time to work out as much as you! You should be pumped that you can eat more and still lose the weight you want because you're so active! Good luck | |||

Yes, they do inject their chickens with growth hormone (so that they get bigger, faster and have more meat on them). As far as your body growing "faster" I'm assuming you mean getting fatter and YES, THAT IS A RESULT OF EATING TONS OF KFC! But eating chicken that has been injected with growth hormone is not going to directly affect your growth. It's very possible for you to have a larger bone structure, hence what you said about your bones showing you're 13 at the age of 11. No doctor is going to tell you that you have stopped growing or are growing faster as a result of eating lots of KFC. In addition, there's no way for you to know that you've stopped growing at age 14. If you haven't noticed any growth in height over the past two years, it's possible that you will get taller before you become an adult. Growth is NOT an exact science and varies with the individual. I hope this helps. Also, if I were you, i'd try as hard as I can to stop obsessing and go out and EAT! Food for many is the spice of life - don't deprive yourself of it! Take full advantage of your young metabolism and enjoy yourself! |

that sounds awesome except i have no access to a pool right now. Right now I have been practicing stretching. My knee does NOT want to straighten! I have been able to get on my mt. bike trainer and exercise it that way but I just want it to be straight so I can walk normal. I substitute teach so when you walk in with a huge limp, you're automatically a target for a lot of kids (I hate subbing!! - anyone know of any districts that need science teachers?). Anyway, thanks to all of you for the great advice. Unfortunately, I don't have insurance right now and getting a physical therapist to help me out is totally out of the question. I'm really suprised that I even went to urgent care because it's outrageously expensive!

This is probably one of the best forum posts because it forces us to think about the wierd/funny reasons we want to be skinnier. Here's mine: - I want to go tubing in the summer and not have rolls hanging over my shorts or back fat hanging off the tube! (i saw a picture of this and i was totally disgusted!) -I don't want my tight mountain biking clothes to cut into my fat -I want to be able to talk about mt biking without people thinking "you mt. bike?" -I don't want to weigh MORE than my boyfriend! -I want to LIKE wearing less clothes in the summer -I'm sick of baby powdering my inner thighs in the summer when I wear a skirt! there.... I got it off my chest and I feel much better now. |

| Men pretty much have it easier when it comes to losing their gut. Like mrsjbreen's husband, my boyfriend had a good gut going last winter and without consciously trying he lost probably 40 lbs. What he DID do was ride his bike like a wild man! If he wasn't riding one of his on or off road bikes, he was riding one on the trainer. I'm not an expert but it seems to me that guys can lose weight by upping their cardio and trying to watch portions. That means, if you usually eat an entire pizza in one sitting, maybe only eat 1/2 or a quarter (must be nice). I wouldn't even worry about religiously counting calories like us girls have to. boca burgers = yuck morning star farms burgers = AWESOME!! I'm a serious meat eater but I love the morning star farms burgers. My favorite is the spicy black bean, portabella mushroom, and the garden vegetable. Like others have said, boca burgers TRY to have a meat flavor and it just doesn't work. You can top a msf burger with all the same stuff you would put on your meat burger and you feel like you're having a hamburger. MY FAVORITE WAY TO PREPARE MSF BURGERS!: cook a spicy black bean burger in a pan and for the last minute or so, top it with a tbsp of feta and shaved red onions, cover and let the feta melt. Then spread hummus on a half of a whole wheat pita (cut in half - i know it ends up being triangles but it works!). Sprinkle the burger with franks red hot and top it off with a nice tomato slice and voila! The best little "burger" I've ever had! |

My favorite thing to snack on is hummus and a half of a whole wheat pita. Or sometimes I dip cucumbers or red peppers in the hummus. The hummus is only 50 cals per tablespoon and the half pita is 80 cals. SO GOOD AND SATISFYING AND NOT MANY CALORIES!!! If I'm in the mood for something sweet, I have a couple jelly beans (jelly belly) or one of those 100 calorie cookie packs. Oh yeah. |
