Uh, how is this peanut butter of 7 ingredients better than the most natural form of PB - ground peanuts? :/ |

Haha, I've totally eaten that many nuts before! All I can say is forget about it and move on. Besides, if you're trying to get your period back, it's good for you. Nuts are also generally nutritious, and the fats in them are primarily unsaturated. It's not like you loaded up on butter. :P |

I agree that if we all actually sat down, it'd be a much cleaner situation, but I seriously doubt that all the people in the world who "hover" are going to give up doing it for the sake of cleanliness in public bathrooms, and because of this, I shall continue being a hoverer as well. (I'm a clean hoverer though, lol). @ soliwit : Yeah, I once saw someone flush with their foot - pretty gross. And because of that, I have never again flushed with my hand. |

Original Post by raspberrydreams: I've done both. :] I make salads dressed with pure sunflower oil (rather than dressings), eat lots of peanut butter and nuts, have whole eggs, salmon (I love baked salmon or smoked salmon), trout. I like making chicken and veggie stir-fries with sunflower or olive oil - you can add some seeds or feta cheese to them, very yummy. Hope that helps! :) |

I never had a full-blown eating disorder, but for several months starting about last November, I ate very little and basically my period disappeared. For a while, I didn't tell my mom because I didn't want to go to the doctor and be put on hormone pills - I'm pretty much dealthly scared of them. Anyway, this summer we went to Russia (where I'm from), and I saw an ob-gyn there. Surprisingly, she didn't put me on hormone pills, but instead suggested taking a herbal supplement. She gave me Cyclopret (a non-prescription herbal supplement that aids in fertility, here's the site of the company: http://72.167.125.27/index.php?option=com_con tent&view=article&id=107&Itemid=2 36; ), to be taken once a day. I started about a month and a half ago, and I've gotten my period back. It's still sort of weak (only lasts for a day or two), but it'll take time for it to become regular again. I have to take this pill for a total of three months. I hope this helps! I would hate to be put on hormone pills, and I'm so relieved I've found something more or less natural that helped. But you have to remember that you have to start eating normally, otherwise it won't work. I eat about 1800-2100 cal/day (I don't count anymore, but this is it when I check once in a while). I haven't gained much (only a few lbs), but it's much better to be a little fuller (people say I look much healthier :) ) and completely healthy than be thin and not have a period. Good luck! |

UTIs are usually primarily characterized by stinging (I've had one before, ugh), so if you're going too often, getting cramps, and feeling like you haven't gone completely, perhaps you have an over-active bladder... have you been drinking more water lately or eating more fruit/veggies?

I like Starbucks Dark Chocolate (about 100 cal for 1/4 of the bar) and CocoaVia Chocolate bars (100 cal/bar + many vitamins :) ). They're both dark chocolate and very rich/strong in taste, so after I eat a piece, I don't feel like I need anymore. I find that milk chocolate doesn't quite accomplish this. |

I like guys who're easy to communicate with, are mobile, reliable, and can adapt to different lifestyles. And I guess the bad boy thing doesn't hurt, haha! Sometimes the "I don't give a crap" attitude is pretty sexy. ;] I don't like guys who're shy and afraid to let loose once in a while. Or ones who get too attached and can't stop acting cutesy, ugh. Too introverted for me. :[ |

Original Post by coach_k: Well I knew they had very little, but they're way outweighed by the unsaturated oils. It's a pretty small amount if you eat just a handful (so I just ignore it). :) Sorry for the misconception. |

Uh... there's like no saturated fat in nuts. Nuts have lots of unsaturated fats, which are very healthy. :) |

Hey, this happens to me all the time. Sometimes I feel quite full after a meal, and on some days, I'm hungry like crazy even if my activity level remains about the same. But if you're hungry, go ahead and eat. :) If you're restricting your calories, it won't hurt if from time to time they fluctuate. |

Original Post by cerealaddiction: You are so wonderfully inspiring. :) It reminds me of something my aunt recently told me - she said that you can spend your whole life obsessing with losing weight, but you can also focus on being productive, hardworking, athletic, etc. Thank you for the reminder that life isn't just about weight, and that there are so many more things one can look forward to. |

| Health & Support | Not sure...is this an eating disorder? | Aug 16 2008 23:24 (UTC) |
|
If you'd like to be healthier, don't pay attention to others' opinions (family members, husband) - you need to do this for yourself and your wellbeing. :) But since you have Chron's, be careful with losing weight - you may just want to focus on eating healthy and being active. I find that doing these things puts me into the mindset that I'm nourishing my body, and it won't matter whether I gain/lose weight, because I'll still be healthy, and as a result, happy.

| Foods | For Anyone Who Eats Squash.... | Aug 15 2008 22:53 (UTC) |
|
I leave the skin on AND eat it. :) Good source of nutrients, and it tastes like the rest of the squash. It comes out quite tender when the squash is cooked through. It's not poisonous or anything. I cut my squash into long, thin sticks, and saute in a tbsp of sunflower oil (per about 2 squash) with some salt (and sometimes pepper). |

| Foods | What is the best way to cook... | Aug 15 2008 22:51 (UTC) |

Baking usually results in tender meat. :) Add some veggies like tomatoes and onions, and a bit of olive oil to the baking dish for juiciness and flavor. You can try broiling as well, though watch for the time because it's a very quick method of preparation. How did you cook it before? Perhaps you overcooked it? Most of the time when I grill or saute meat, it comes out tender unless it's been cooking for too long. |

Lol, it's not brainwashing. Being a Russian, I can safely say that they're just joking around. It's not like they seriously mean that in the song. xD Sucking up to the government is what it is. Americans take things like that too seriously. :) (What a generalization, I know.) |

Haha, it's funny what you say about the cake. The only cake I like is my mom's, and even recently trying a "favorite" cake I have not been able to get my hands on in years, I've decided it wasn't worth eating, and that my mom's was better. I'm picky about taste, so especially with things like cake, I'd rather have the indulgence be really worth it. :) |

| Young Calorie Counters | Dropped a little too much weight | Aug 15 2008 16:02 (UTC) |

You should do weight training to gain muscle, and eat extra protein. However, don't eliminate all the fat - eat healthy oils like olive oil, sunflower oil, and snack on nuts and seeds. You won't gain fat by eating fats. Most body fat comes from extra carbs that aren't being used for energy, so they get converted to fat. And like most people here have said, 97 lbs is too low for your height (unless you have a very small body frame - again, everyone has individual needs). |
