Raza 78 I did get under 160. I reached 155.5, but I went up to 157 in the last week.... But still glad to be under the 160 mark. My excersice routine is still not where it should be. I do my back stretches and core strenghtening excersises at least 4 times a week, but they really at not that demanting. I walked a lot last month, but so far August has been really hot, and my tradmill is on the fritz... Also both of my kids had b-days the end of July, and parties and snacks where around the house for 2 weeks... I am glad you are keeping up the excersise and still loosing. Keep being positive

I like cottage cheese in my salad instead of dressing and on top of a baked potato instead of butter or sour cream. Another idea is to drain it some with a cheese cloth add some of your favoriye spices and use it on melba toast or crackers.

imhof, I think that the 2 pounds might just be fluctuation. I know that last night I was 2 pounds heavier than in the morning, and this morning I was 3 pounds lighter... I just need to stop weighing so often! I hope that this is the case...

joditiki, I am sorry about your kids being sick. While you take care of everybody else, don't forget to take care of yourself. If you do not have a loss this week, you will probably compensate for it next week with a bigger loss. Keep up with your good food choices and do not stress eat ( I know I tend on doing that...)

Happy 4th of July!

Last Monday I weighted in at 161. Only 1 lb. down, but still down...

I have not being exercising much. It has been just too hot (I know just another excuse...) I do stretches every morning with some strenghtening excersises for my back for 20 minutes at least 5 days per week, but that is not real exercise. I need to get back on the treadmill!

I really would like to be under 160 next Monday!

How are the rest of you doing?

fitnessgirll and spirochete I think you are quite rude. Not everybody has digital TVs or cable, some people cannot afford either and some people just do not care for them.

rufus_k I like your attitude, there are so many things that a family can do beside watching TV. My daughter, who is in college, has not had a TV for the last 2 years and she does not miss it at all. The internet allows her to keep up with news and occasionally stream a favorite TV show.

As for me, I was ready for the switch, but I have read several posts on freecycle about people not ready and looking for the digital converters. So you definitively are not alone.

raza78 you have done so good! You cannot eat the Ben & Jerry! Grab something healty and cheer yourself up. Watch something funny on TV or on the web, I heard that you burn much more calories watching a funny movie than a sad one!

pala4220 welcome. I also experienced the quick loss at the beginning and then the plateaue. I think most people do. Keeping up with your calorie intake will help you now start to loose again.

afined, good job in fighting the chocolate temptetion.

Health & Support BAD 'Stomach' Pains w/ Bloat... What's Going On? Jun 17 2009

My husband had similar pains about a month ago. He went to the drs office after a night of severe abdominal pains and the dr had him transported to the ER. They did a scan of most of his organs and found out he had pneumonia. The drs are puzzled of why the abdominal pain (localized around his bellybutton).

He took antibiotics for 5 days and when he went back to the drs office they scheduled him an appointment to see a GI specialist.

He saw the specialist today. Of course his severe pain has gone, but he is still experiencing abdominal pain on occasion and foods seem to effect him much more than in the past (constipation/ diarrhea) . The specialist gave him no meds and scheduled him for a colonoscopy just to make sure... However, he thinks that it  is just middle age setting in, gone are the days of eating Tacos and pizza everyday!!!

I think that you should insist to see a GI specialist just to be sure. I insisted my husband see one.

afined I am impressed. Great job!

raza 78 one pound is also good. Do not get discuragged. ..

As for me I weighted at 162. However my 166 weight last week was in the middle of the day (after lunch) and this time my weight is in the morning(before breakfast). I do not think that I have lost 4 pounds... But any loss is good. I cannot believe that I will soon be in the 150s. It has been a LONG time!

This time I am starting at 166. I was 185 last year and CC helped me loose the weight. I gained 5 pounds in the last couple of months and decided to use CC again. I never reached my target weight of 150 last time .  I am 5'5" and 150 would be an acceptable weight for me. I am in my mid 40s with one child in college and one in high school.

Post your progress and good luck

I am getting back on the wagon for the Nth time...

I have used CC successfully before, but after a few weeks of not keeping track of calories and not exercising much I am up a few pounds..

I am starting this time at 166 and am 5'5''. My goal is 150 (keeping it real!) and last time I used CC my starting weight was 185.

I would like to join the group and get some support.

Still at 162.

I started the month at 168, so 6 ldb in a month is good. However, I was hoping to be at 160 or under...

I guess this is the end of the challenge, so good luck to all of you.

kazykim007, I think that the journal is a good idea. If you binge you can just write  a B and a total of calories. If your boyfriend is a fitness and health freak he is probably willing to help you, and migh not be as judgemental as you think.

I am going to weight on Friday, so I will post my progress then.

Krazykim007-You are not alone! I am trying to break the habit of balncing out a bad day with a good day, but I usually do it food wise. I am not as disciplined as you are about excersising...

Anyhow, since I startered eating better this time around, I have being able to control binging. I had days were I excedeed the amount of calories that I should have eaten, but not by 1000s like in the past. I also have days when I feel like eating non stop. It is like nothing satisfies my hunger, similar to having a hitch and no matter were you scratch, you seem to miss the spot...

Rationally, I know that I am not hungry, but since the day was ruined I might as well eat everything in site... What is helping me this time is being more aware and take a few minutes to think before grabbing extra food. Also after the ice cream or chips or the salami sandwich, I count the calories 150, 300, 600, and realize that it is not so bad, so if I stop then I am still OK.

After several weeks of 1 pound loss per week, the scale was nice to me this morning. My weight is 163, a loss of 3 pounds Smile.

I am so impressed about the exercise level of some of you. I must say that even after exercising for several weeks now, 4 to 5 times a week, I still hate it, and find a million excuses...

Also my exercise routine is not intense. I have back problems, so I do stretches, walk for 1 mile and lift some light weights.

Good Job courtneylauren and everyone else that survived the Easter weekend!

For all that did not do so well, today is a new day.

I agree with courtneylauren about the viet food. It was probably the salt intake, if it was restaurant food...

kishmish- don't let the scale get you down.

As for me I am at 166 this morning. I feel a bit disappointed, since yesterday was not a good day for me, and I think I could have done better if I had avoided all the carbs I ate yesterday. However, 1 pound is still a loss.

Welcome bittenkittenx and stacimae.

To everybody that is somewhat discouraged, just hang in there. One day at the time...

kishmish, 120 Lb. is a weight that most peolpe would kill for... Don't let the scale get you down.

Yesterday I almost cheated, started eating some Dove chocolate miniatures, but stopped at 2 and the mini carrots saved me!

topazie,

I don't think that undereating today will really compensate for binging yesterday. It might only make you really hungry and cause to overeat later on in the day or tomorrow.

Just forgive yourself and eat a balanced diet today. One day at the time...
