YAY SKINNY BITCHES!   I'm so proud of you all and happy to be one!

The book came into my life (read the entire thing in a few days) right when I needed it!

The positive effect the book has had on me......

I cut out all meats and dairy and coffee and I feel great!  I treat my body as the temple that it is.  I have also lost 7 pounds in less than a month!!!

Weight Loss What REALLY Got Me Here - What are your reasons??? Feb 02 2008

Wow, Becky.....thank you for sharing that.

Sharing that was a help to me and I"m sure it will be for others reading it.  Just being able to identify these things is half the battle.

I'm going to get back to this when I can identify my real reasons that got me here.  They're beginning to come clearer and clearer as I go through this journey.

I wish you the absolute best.

Weight Loss alcohol revisited Jan 31 2008

I'm in!

I began my alcohol re-evaluation last week with the focus on QUALITY, not QUANTITY.

I have come to the realization that beer is (was) making me fat.  But, rather than totally give up drinking, I'm just toning it down a bit so that it is something I can stick with after the pounds come off.

I also love dry red wine and Three Olives Chocolate vodka.

That being said, I am figuring in one glass of wine or vodka or beer into my daily intake so that it is do-able for me.  Having done that for over a week now, I can tell you that my alcohol resistance has gone down and it doesn't TAKE more than one drink to get me a little loopy.  So, it's a win-win situation.

I SIP now......which is a totally new concept for me.  I've always been a gulper!  Even with food...I would eat fast.  But eating fast and drinking fast is a no-no.  I feel like a bloated blimp afterwards!  Sipping is good - sipping is friend!

Best wishes to everyone!

Yes, Sandra...I was thinking...I am sitting here too long...good idea...butt squeezes and tummy squeezes.

Hey, sjklov!  I found the info. you were looking for!

On average, the FDA guidelines add up to the following percentage breakdown:

A) 50% of your calories come from sources of carbohydrates, preferably whole foods such as fresh fruits, vegetables (preferable a wide variety of vegetables) and whole grains
B) 25% of your calories come from sources of protein, such as lean meat, fat-free milk, light yogurt, etc.
C) 25% of your calories come from fats, preferably monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats (oils, basically), and;
D) You are taking in at least 64 oz. of water a day.

Well, mcderin.....great advice!

I just returned and am immediately going back to the Weight Loss forum.

sjklov.....this may help you....I found lots of great info. in the post entitled, "Welcome to the Weightloss Forum! Read this for Info & Resources"

It's the third post down from the top and it's a 'sticky' so it should stay there.

Thank you, Mcderin and sjklov!  I appreciate your replies.  Laughing

I'll take your suggestion and check out the Weight Loss forums so I can meet more people.

I also do not know what % I shoujld be eating.  But I think I saw something to that effect when I got my report from yesterday.  It graded me A, B, C, etc....then it broke down the amounts of each...protein, carbs, etc.....so I imagine if you get a good grade, then you were right on with what percentage you should be eating.  Does that make sense?
