p90x was great! the ab ripper video is only 15 minutes but when James and I finish it (my boyfriend) we are both ready to pass out! hehe.

Here's some of the info to help you girls out:

 

The Scarsdale Diet THE SCARSDALE MEDICAL 14-DAY DIET   Where no portion is indicated, you can eat as much as you like.
Eat until you are satisfied, not stuffed.
Between meals you can snack on carrots, celery, and low sodium vegetable broth
BREAKFAST EVERY DAY:
One half grapefruit -if not available,use fruits* in season
One slice of protein bread**, toasted, no spread added
Coffee /tea (no sugar, cream or milk, no honey)

MONDAY

Lunch:
Assorted cold cuts*** Tomatoes - sliced, broiled, or stewed
Coffee/Tea/Diet Soda/Water   Dinner:
Fish or shellfish, any kind  Combination salad, any greens and vegetables as you wish
One slice protein bread toasted
Grapefruit - if not available, use fruits in season
Coffee/Tea/Diet Soda/Water

TUESDAY

Lunch:
Fruit salad, any combination of fruits
[substitute lunch recommended - see bottom of page]
Coffee/Tea/Diet Soda/Water

Dinner:
Plenty of broiled, lean hamburger (see Meat & Poultry link for info)
Tomatoes, lettuce, celery, olives (limit 4), cucumbers and/or Brussels Sprouts

WEDNESDAY

Lunch:
Tuna fish or salmon salad (oil drained off) with lemon and vinegar dressing
Grapefruit, or melon, or fruit in season
Coffee/Tea/Diet Soda/Water

Dinner:
Sliced roast lamb***, all visible fat removed
Salad of lettuce,tomatoes,cucumbers,celery
Coffee/Tea/Diet Soda/Water

*** Can be subsituted with fish, seafood, chicken or turkey, or veg protein

THURSDAY

Lunch:
Two eggs, any style (no fat used in cooking)
Low-fat cottage cheese
Zucchini, or string beans, or sliced/stewed tomatoes
One slice of protein bread, toasted
Coffee/Tea/Diet Soda/Water

Dinner:
Roast, broiled or barbequed chicken (skin and visible fat removed before eating)
Plenty of spinach, green peppers, string beans
Coffee/Tea/Diet Soda/Water

FRIDAY

Lunch:
Assorted cheese slices (preferably lowfat)
Spinach, all you want
One slice of protein bread, toasted
Coffee/Tea/Diet Soda/Water

Dinner:
Fish or shellfish
Combination salad (any fresh vegetables desired, raw or cooked)
One slice of protein bread, toasted
Coffee/Tea/Diet Soda/Water

SATURDAY

Lunch:
Fruit salad, any combination of fruits
[substitute lunch recommended]
Coffee/Tea/Diet Soda/Water

Dinner:
Roast turkey or chicken
Salad of tomatoes and lettuce
Grapefruit or fruit in season
Coffee/Tea/Diet Soda/Water

SUNDAY

Lunch: Cold or hot turkey or chicken
Tomatoes, carrots, cooked cabbage, broccoli or cauliflower
Grapefruit, or fruit in season
Coffee/Tea/Diet Soda/Water

Dinner:
Plenty of broiled (grilled) steak, all visible fat removed before eating; any cut of steak you wish- sirloin, porterhouse, London broil, etc.
Salad of lettuce, cucumbers, celery, tomatoes (sliced or cooked)
Brussels Sprouts
Coffee/Tea/Diet Soda/Water     *allowed fruit substitutes READ the FRUITS link on the left for more detailed info.   **protein bread substitutes READ the PROTEIN BREAD link on the left for more info & list.   ***cold cuts your choice - lean meats, chicken, turkey READ the MEAT & POULTRY link on the left for more info & list.   NOTES:
  • Cooking with herbs, seasonings, spices, grated onion, minced parsley is recommended.
  • Salt, Non-stick vegetable spray, cocktail sauce, ketchup, chili sauce & mustard are all permitted, but should be used within MODERATION.
  • Vegetables not permitted are corn, peas, potatoes, lentils and any beans, except green or waxed.
  • Where no portion is indicated, you can eat as much as you like.
    Eat until you are satisfied, not stuffed.
  • Between meals you can snack on carrots, celery, and low sodium vegetable broth
  • Count your calories - they should be between 850 - 1000 a day.
SCARSDALE MEDICAL DIET- SUBSTITUTE LUNCH
If you wish, you may substitute the following lunch for any lunch, any day, on the Scarsdale Medical Diet.
One half cup low-fat pot cheese or cottage cheese, mixed with One tablespoon of low-fat sour cream
Sliced fruit, all you want
6 halves of walnuts or pecans, whole or chopped, and mixed with the above or sprinkled over the fruit
Coffee/tea/no-sugar diet soda of any flavor (Tip: puree the cottage cheese & sour cream to make a whipped topping, serve over mixed berries & top w/ chopped nuts for a "sundae")

SECOND WEEK OF SCARSDALE MEDICAL DIET
Repeat all menus of the first week. It's as simple as that. If after fourteen days, you still need to lose weight, switch to Keep-Trim Eating for two weeks, [before going back on the SMD.] NOTE: I personally eat a full grapefruit and a piece of toast with Jam and a cup of coffee. Debbie - yes! Check out Scarsdale, it really is wonderful. you eat great foods, and you don't feel like you're starving yourself...Oh, and no calorie counting! It's the healthiest, easiest diet ever!

Today is my first day for p90x, waiting for my honey to get home and do it with me!

 

TAT - My mom introduced me to the scarsdale diet. If you google "Scarsdale Medical diet" it will give you all the details. It's not well known, but it really does work. Not just for losing weight, but keeping you within a few pounds of the EXACT weight you need to be. I did it for a week and lost 9lbs but then I moved back to my apartment in my hometown (I just graduated from college on Tuesday) and I just slacked off a bit. But I don't want to end up that way! I'm doing it this time. I'm even taking before photos. No more being unhealthy, I want to be happy and healthy. I've even re-introduced flax oil and green tea into my life. I have a slack last few weeks so It's time for me to smarten up!

 

I'll let you all know how my first workout goes!

Try googling podrunner, or look it up in the itunes store (It's a free podcast) It's very good and it's great for training running! love love love it - hope it helps the boredom!

Hey girls! Happy TGIF! I decided that today was the day I start kicking this stuff into serious high gear. I just got two Tae-Bo videos for 2 bucks each too! woo! Going to have to give them a shot tonight. I know Tae-bo is old but man what a workout! I've decided that it's best for me to record my food diary in a journal instead on online, because that way I can always have it handy. I'm going to write down my water intake (in cups) per day, how many veggie servings I have, how many calories I consume, and how long I've worked out in the day. I left a spot at the bottom for any emotions/thoughts/triggers I need to look back on.

As of today I'm going to also try having my cup of green tea with breakfast every morning as well.

So I guess that's it! I'd better get to my workout!

Hey all,As you all have know, I have been having a rough time at work as they are changing things around a lot. My doctor has requested I take some time off to start taking care of myself. She wrote me a note and she gave me a couple days to get back into the swing of things!  I really think it will help me. In the 2 years I have worked for this company, I lost 30 pounds. Sitting down all day, snacking, long hours means Im too lazy to do anything at night, not eating breakfast, the list goes on and on and on..So this is my chance to take back my life and get ready for July! I was working hard before but it's time for me to get more focused and work on maybe 2 pounds a week! 

I have been short on posting so here's a big update:
My birthday was February 27th and I didn't really do anything special ..at all. Spent some time with my boyfriends mom. I think my boyfriend is going to get me a gym membership today for my birthday (we're short on cash this week so he couldnt get me a gift at the time:P)If that is the case and I have several weeks to really focus on myself and not ridiculous 9-10 hour shifts..and wondering how I will be getting to & from work.. I think things will be getting better very quickly. I really REALLY needed this break. This is my first time with more than a couple days off in a row since I was sixteen. -So the gym is about a 10 minute walk from my place and I will be exercising at least 4 times a week..who knows, maybe more if things go well!
I think we should all (including myself hehe) Start posting at least once a day. This club is for support and even I have only been able to check it once every two-three days. So I make it a promise to all you girls who have stuck together in our little corner of cyberspace this long. I will be here EVERY day at least once to check up on you all! PROMISE!

Hey guys,

-an update on work issues: things are going okay for now, but the training we are doing doesn't seem relevant for what we will need so everyone's a bit upset.

I'll keep you all updated though.

 

As far as the weigh-ins, everything seems to be going well - and yes. 5 months to go!! TIME TO KICK IT INTO HIGH GEAR! I am so proud of all you guys. I've never met such a group of amazing, strong, and VERY helpful women.  so THANK YOU

 

 and drumroll please..... *dumdumdum*

 

CHALLENGE:

From now until February 29th, our challenge is to keep track of how much you work out daily. Keep us updated every day and let us know your thoughts.

 

I'd say 20 minutes a day for a goal seems good. And if you want to do more, that's just a bonus!

Hey girls!! 

In training right now but it's a bit slow for the moment so I thought I'd send an update. 

FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO WANT TO JOIN THE BIKINI CLUB: Please send me a message and I'll add you to our list of stats and keep you updated on our challenges.

-Also, anyone who hasn't sent in their weigh-in just yet, be sure to email me this too.  It's just easier for me to get them from my inbox, and as  I'm training 9 hours a day and going home to do notes for work, this way I can make sure I've got all of it without worry I missed someone. 

- TOMORROW is the final day of our first 'weekly' challenge! I have another one ready which I will announce when we're done with the first.  Has anyone managed to stay within their calorie range EVERY single day?  congrats if you did, because that is certainly not easy!

 

Well, time to go learn learn learn!   sigh....

Hey guys,

If you can send me a message with your weigh-ins I'll post them in my journal.

I'd like to apologize as I don't think I've been on here to give you all an update for 3 days.

 

Work has been EXTREMELY hectic..I got a promotion to a coaching job at the call center (to help train all the newbies) and they companydecided they didnt want my department and they were going to pair up with another department. so now I am going from cell phone tech support to a computer technician...and yes, they're giving me 10 days to do it. 10 days to become a technician.

They gave me 24 hours notice too. Oh yeah. and because they signed up for a different company, my "promotion" is gone, means nothing....

So here I am, day 2 of my training..feeling very betrayed by the company... 9 days left of training and 66 tests to go....yes I said 66..... Oh, and 30-40 labs, a 300 page workbook.......that's just the start of it. There's an exam too.....

The sad part is I live in a very small town so I make better money there than I could pretty much anywhere else in town.  I guess that means they can throw us around all they want. My 8am-4pm shifts with weekends off has been changed to 1:30pm-11:30pm shifts with weekends ON. There goes all my family time..

so I'm stuck doing a job I hate

and I apologize I haven't been keeping up with all your comments and updates. I'm getting ready for work with my tea typing away before I go to work hehe.

so be sure to drop me a message with your weigh-in and for those of you doing the calorie count challenge until Valentines day, let me know how you're doing!

Gibsonartist - Today is Fionas birthday? Pretty exciting stuff, huh? Reminds me, my friend Joanne just had a baby girl this week, and I went to see her after work for the first time today. She was born on Monday, but the babys due date is today!

It's my moms birthday today, too.. And mine is Feb 27th...My best friends bdays are feb 14th, and feb 16th       I love february!Smile

Hey guys, Just checkin' in. 

I've been doing okay calorie wise this week, but I feel like Im ready to start working out a bit more. Time to kick this into high-gear

My goals for this week:

1. Track down all calories consumed (duh!)

2. drink water

3. workout at least 20 minutes a day (I have a great 20 minute workout video too, perfect!) 

4. drink MORE water

5. Take my vitamins every morning (ginseng, vitamin D, calcium, omega 3-6-9, chromium) 

6. drink at least one glass of green tea per day..oh, and lots of water 

Tongue out4 more days til the next weigh-inTongue out

I think it'd be amazing to do a marathon. Even if you lost, imagine how proud of yourself  you'd feel just to make it to the finish line!

And shrove tuesday is "Pancake Tuesday" It's a tradition every year folks make pancakes for supper!

nokareyes- You know, it is your first weigh-in with us so 1LB is minor. Probably just means you ate UNDER your goal amount of calories. Besides, a lot of factors can come into play. The time of day you weigh-in can even give you a different number. Besides, it's only the first week and we all know you've been working your butt off!! I feel personally like I haven't been doing as much as I can so this week my personal goal is to step it up a notch. :P

cheer up girly, we still have over 5 months to go Cool

Hi Ladies,

feeling a bit better since my slip on the ice the other day. Thank heavens - but I can't run or do anything strenuous for a few days - makes me feel nauseous. I have been eating veryyyy well though so I'm not too worried about tomorrows weigh-in. I definitely need to work out more, but what a way to make yourself feel terrible - I ran for the first time in three years and then the next day I fall and get a concussion. Now THAT is brutal.

I am walking a lot to make up for not being able to work out as hard as I'd like though. I'm home today (no work, doctors orders) but I'm going to suit up and go for a long walk with my honey so I at least get SOME sort of exercise.

You all excited about the weigh-in tomorrow? heheh

troubles...

So yesterday I had just gotten off work and I had to run into the grocery store to get something. I left and my friend offered to give me a drive home, so when I went to get in her car, the entire sidewalk was covered in ice. I fell, hit the side of my head on the door, hit my leg on the bottom of the car and almost slid right under it.

 

I have been up all night with a migraine and can barely type. Needless to say, I'm slightly concussed.

I have to work soon but I don't think I'll be able to stay very long.

It's only 8:15 here nokareyes, and I'm having a cup of tea before I start work at 8:30. Quite the time difference huh?

My boyfriend is kind of doing the same thing that your dad's doing for you. Maybe every 5 pounds or so he's going to get me a treat of some sort! woo!
