haha I can't believe I havent thort of using an english muffin!! I love making low cal pizzas for lunch normally using pita or mountain bread but i can imagine the thick muffin wuld be such a better more doughy pizza like base!

Lately tho I have bin obsessed with eggplant and have actually been using sliced eggplant as the bases for my pizza toppings.. soooo low calorie and extremely tasty but a lil sloppy hehe.

Thanks, Sammy :)

Thank you so much everyone for your support.. it means so much to me that you will take a moment out of their day to help a stranger in need!

I just wana update that I am doing well again and back on track.. I'm not a purger thankfully and I did have the strength to throw away the laxatives! YAY! hehe.. I think it was just all a big outburst of built up stress and anxiety.. so I'm feeling a lot better now I have gotten it all out of my system.

I'm not limiting my calories lower than 1400 and so the weight (water/fat) shuld come off soon slowly but steadily and so I can concentrate on maintaining again.

My bf has been very supportive and helped knock some sense into me so im extremely lucky to have him by my side helping everyday.. he dusnt even need to try! hehe

Anyways.. thank you again everyone!

Weight Loss Weight loss without exercise... opinions/thoughts/experiences? Aug 28 2008

Hi guys, to be completely honest my weight loss has resulted from pretty much only diet and watching my calorie intake/deficit.
I have to date lost 15kg... now I'm at my goal weight I have started pole dancing for fitness and only now beginning to tone up and get the body shape i want because of the strength training involved.. just from dieting alone I became 'skinny fat' because I lost muscle tissue...I believe if you combine both diet and strength training/cardio you will see the best possible results and be more successful in attaining and keeping your goals...
..but in a nutshell I am so happy with the results I have got from just watching my calories (the easy stuff) and Im even happier with the results I am getting now from exercise (the tough stuff).

I hope this helps and good luck! any questions feel free to msg me!

WOW!! this recipe is great! I made it today for the first time after seeing this..thanks so much!

Here is how i made mine:
Eggplant (raw-500g) 122cals,
(7 Tbsp) tomato paste 130cals,
(100g) light mozzarella cheese 284cals,
slcd mushrooms (105g)27cals,
green capsicum (80g) 17cals
and I added olives (32g) 61cals.
I used light olive oil spray and didnt use a lot (2-3secs).

I worked out cals to approx. add up to 700 for the whole dish and i cut it into 6 serves so only about 120cals/serve!!

Thanks again,

Samantha Xx

Having a Greek mum we always have tzatziki in our fridge hehe

We mostly use it as a dip for crackers or carrots etc.

But my fav. is making a tzatziki + roasted lamb, tomato, lettuce wholemeal pita wrap. YUMM!!! (approx. 315 cals)

I live in Australia and here there are many brands which make tzatziki that you can purchase from any grocery store from the dips aisle/section.
The brand in our fridge atm is 'Copperpots' if that helps.

Cheers!

Weight Loss small and thin yet i have cellulite - what to do Apr 03 2008
05:06 (UTC)

Here are a few tips for reducing cellulite that i found on the net:

Start each day with a cup of hot water with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice. Replace your coffee, soft drinks and cordials with water.

Pile your plate with vegies and salads splashed with a low-fat dressing or a touch of balsamic vinegar and olive oil. Eat lots of fruit, including vitamin C-packed citrus fruits, kiwifruit, mango and berries.

Ditch the salt — it makes your body retain water. Add flavour to your meals with herbs and spices like black pepper, chilli or garlic.

Avoid processed and refined foods. Go for wholegrain cereals, breads, pastas and rice. Buy fresh vegies, meat and fruit and prepare your meals from scratch. It doesn't have to take hours. There are plenty of recipe books around with quick, low-fat food ideas.

Running is one of the best forms of exercise for toning and firming your legs. If running isn't for you, try cellulite-busting cycling or walking.

There is no miracle cure but I hope these help!

Foods Good fillings for pitas? Mar 28 2008

Original Post by zebulancherry:

Falafel of course! It's a traditional, extremely popular Greek chickpea-patty sandwich. Think of it as a burger to the Mediterranean. Hahah.

Soz I had an urge to correct this but falafel is actually from the middle east (Egypt) not Greece although the pita bread is Greek.

I agree that falafel is a good alternative for vegetarian fillings for pita although just b careful the falafel is not fried as falafel is considered more of a fast food in arabic cultures.

Yeah there are so many adverse reactions to MSG (621) ... in another forum I had posted a list of additives in which to avoid in food products when I go shopping because the other day I bought diet yoghurt..read the ingredients list and noted no aspartame instead it read "sweeteners (950,951)".. and I was shocked later to find out that "951" is actually the code for aspartame!!

Also, I read that manufacturers can include MSG(621) without having to declare it on the label if they list these: Yeast extract, hydrolysed vegetable protein (HVP) and hydrolysed plant protein (HPP).

BUYER BEWARE...

Original Post by corky101:

sammyxx,

that's some list.

The best thing is just try to stay "all natural" as much as possible and avoid processed foods.

Tryin my best in my circumstances at the moment to go all natural (house under renovations- no fridge/kitchen etc.).. but i also enjoy my tea or coffee once or twice a day and i prefer it sweet and the calories do add up if your using real sugar.. but nevertheless.. everythin in moderation Cool

Personally, additives in food don't have any affects on me although I am trying to limit them... it is all personal choice whether to consume them or not so it doesnt bother me if people are for or against them..

I have created a list to take shopping with me as a lot of the artificial sweeteners and preservatives aren't actually named in the ingredients list.. instead they are listed by their corresponding code.

Here is a list of additives that I got from the web that recommend you to avoid these in particular... I find it extremely hard to cancel out all these in my foods but at least I am aware of what is in the food before buying it.

hun i know wat ur going through... when i was in school I was a terrible binger becoz i thort in order to lose weight i had to starve myself... all I can say which has helped me get over binging was eatin healthy well-balanced meals and eating ENOUGH for my body.. it takes time to get over binging but you are not alone.. eat regular small meals each day.. it definately helps..you also need someone to talk to and encourage you along the way..we are here always, your family, other friends.. just be strong like you know u r :)

when a 'friend' says sumthn like that..you have to realise that you do not need people like that in your life.. nobody will ever be perfect and your 'best friend' should be accentuating your positives... don't listen to her comments as the guy was asking about YOU and she probably just got jelous and tried makin herself look better...

hope this helps and good luck!

Health & Support curious...weird eating habits from ED/OCD? Mar 17 2008

OMG thank god im not alone!!!
It's weird that most of our habits are really similar..so maybe we arent so weird bcoz there are so many of us hehe..but yer here are some of myn..

  • I won't eat something if I don't know how many calories are in it.
  • I measure and re-measure all my food... eg. grapes, cereals, nuts...
  • All I think about is food and Im always planning what I am going to eat for the week.
  • I calculate and re-calculate calories.
  • I ALWAYS have with me:
-A notebook with all my 'safe foods' and how many cals in each.
-A complete calorie and fat counter book.
    -My food and calorie diary.
  • I have a strict eating schedule.
  • I find i put together the weirdest combos of foods.
  • Eat healthy and safe foods before anything else.
  • Always eat everything on my plate.
  • Freak out when my boyfriend or someone eats part of my food and try to calculate how many calories he ate from my meal.

The feeling i get from knowin i'm in control and watchin the scales constantly is addictive...

Young Calorie Counters How do you count calories? Mar 17 2008
03:16 (UTC)

When I first started counting cals I would measure out the serving so I can get an idea of what 1 serving looks like.. if it says serving size 2/3 cup and 155cals then I measure out 2/3 cup of my cereal.

Once you do this a few times you should get pretty good at it and you wont need to measure anymore... because like sk33ny states.. it does get extremely addictive.

I really enjoy diet and low cal cordials. The cordial I drink does not contain aspartame although it does contain some artificial sweeteners.
Bonus it has added vitamin C.

At first I drank it 4 parts water and 1 part cordial.. and over time I have cut it down to just a splash of cordial in my water..

Brand is cottees and diet rite.. maybe just look out for something similar.
