I keep going to the Spaghetti Warehouse.  Don't ask me why, but I do.  I went there with my mom around a year ago and had a delicious chicken salad, and I love their bread with butter.  It's ridiculously good.

So a month later I was excited to go there with my mother-in-law.  I got the same salad and snagged a few breads to take home, too.  Once again, my salad was delicious and I was excited to go back there some day.

Another month later I took Alex to the restaurant.  He hadn't been there since he was a kid, and we wanted to go somewhere nice after the ballet.  I decided to try an old favourite, lasagna.  I chowed down happily on the bread and was excited when they finally brought out the lasagna.  I took a huge bite and... spat it out.  It was disgusting.  It was made with sausage, which I detest, the cheese was burnt, and the marinara sauce had a really weird taste.  Almost like molded water.  I filled up on bread, packed up my lasagna, and let Alex eat it at home later.

I thought about giving it a second chance and we went there with my mom last week, this time wanting the salad but refusing to rely on one dish.  I tried the chicken parmesan.  I really don't like my meal served over pasta, and fortunately chicken parmesan comes next to the pasta, so I can eat that, then the pasta.  I tasted the chicken.  It was hard, rubbery, and whatever they breaded it in tasted like cardboard.  The pasta was undercooked for my taste and the marinara sauce was the same as on the lasagna.  I was really disappointed, so once again, I filled up on bread.

You'd think I would've learned my lesson by now, but no.  My aunt and uncle in law treated us to dinner there yesterday.  I did learn to get the salad, but my glorious salad was no longer a glorious salad.  For whatever reason, my salad was swimming in water.  I thought the dressing was watery and I'd put too much on, but after shifting things around on my plate a bit, I realised it really was swimming in water.  Alex and I filled three of the little 3 ounce butter cups with the water, and there was still plenty more swimming around.  I picked at whatever was on the top of my salad, filled up on bread, and we called it a night.  At the end, I poured two more little cups of water off my plate.

Will I ever go to the Spaghetti Warehouse again?  Probably.  The bread is just too good, and I'm a sucker every time.  We always walk away spending about fifty dollars on our meals and drinks, but the bread is worth it.  However, I've officially lost hope in their entrees and from hereon out, I'm strictly going for the bread.

i love the spaghetti warehouse for the same reason as you.. the bread. i hate the fact that their noodles are huge and fat.. so i never get anything with pasta when i go there. I have had the fried ravioli before. Of course, its not the best thing for you, but either is that delicious butter you just can't resist.

Good luck on your quest to find a delicious entree. It can be a tough one, because I havent had the best of luck their either. But i will never give up on the bread.

hey guys. i'm new to this group. Ive been a member of CC for 2 years now, lost 60 lbs, but then recently have gained about 10-15 back.

Long story short, my boyfriend of 4 years and I recently broke up. I am an extremely emotional eater and have been struggling to get my life back in order. I've stopped going to the gym, I eat out wayy too much, and the binging is just out of control. Any stressful event that happens, i turn to food. Not to mention I just turned 21 a few months ago and have been drinking beer like theres no tomorrow.

I can feel my clothes getting tighter and tighter, and my once since 8 jeans no longer fit. Frown i really don't want to end up 200 lbs like i used to be. Losing weight was the best thing I ever did for myself. Now, I am just so depressed that it doesn't even register in my brain how much junk I really am consuming.

I'm hoping with the support of everyone out there, I can resist the temptation to binge. I'm back to counting every calorie, have given up alcohol for a while, and will start back to the gym tomorrow (closed early today).

Thanks for listening. I'll keep everyone updated on my progress!

also like peanut butter with banana, honey, nutella, apple butter, raspberry jam (not all- just one of them, lol). Actually PB + nutella + banana grilled is amazing...

I like it spread on apple chunks, or on a wrap (fold over and fry w/ pam like a quesadilla).

This reminds me of a vendor I see a lot at concerts, called "The Skinny Pancake". They take pancake batter and spread it out really thin (i thought it was a tortilla at first).. then fill it with goodness and wrap it up. A lot of their combos have nutella in them. The PB/Banana/Nutella one is my fav.. drizzled in honey. YUM!

Weight Loss Has losing a significant amount of weight changed the way you socialize? Nov 14 2008

I find that it's easier to socialize now, after losing almost 60 lbs (I'm so close!). I'm still the same person. I still have the same interests, and the same views/beliefs.. but I'm much more comfortable with myself.

Beforehand, I would always worry that people were looking at me and judging me. I would always be pulling my pants up and adjusting my clothes so they covered the fat. I used to hide in the back of conversations and just listen. Now, I actually speak up and say what I have to say.

I think it is all a confidence issue. I still have some weight to lose... and I am by no means skinny, but it feels so good to have come this far and just be "comfortable."

I have a friend who says "ideal" instead of "idea" and it drives me CRAZY.

"What are you having for dinner tonight?"

"I have no ideal."

She's been doing it since like 6th grade, and I correct her every single time. It just doesn't seem to get through..

Did everyone watch the BL last night?

I'm almost to the point of not following the show anymore. It used to be about weight loss, about motivation, and about changing lives.

Now, its just pure drama. Now that Ed is back, there is just going to be more chaos in the house. I got so pissed last night listening to Heba order her husband around.. and Vicky, she is just a straight up b*tch. Every episode I see, I hate her more and more.

I think Amy made the right choice voting Brady off. Now that they are singles, I wouldn't care who was wearing what color t-shirt. At this point in the game, it is all for themselves. And Brady is obviously the bigger threat.

I'm still going for Team Colleen all the way. I hope she wins.. actually, I hope anyone wins besides Heba, Ed, or Vicky.  :-P

Fitness Should I join a gym? Nov 06 2008

I started this weight loss journey in November 07, and didn't join a gym until just 2 months ago. I lost weight at home, no doubt about it, but wish I had joined one sooner. After losing 50 lbs, I was "skinny fat" and am just now starting to tone up.

My personal opinion, if you're going to fork over some money, join the gym. There will be a lot more variety in your workouts and the results will be much better.

My family was told that due to the economy, we're only getting stockings this year...

a little upsetting, yes, but I don't feel there's anything I really NEED (besides new clothes, but i pick those out myself).

My brother will be home for the holidays and I haven't seen him in over a year. That will be a big gift in itself.

Also, my parents are going to help me pay for school when I go back in the spring. That is definitely all i would ever want from them. I don't care if i don't get anything for the next 4 years, as long as I can complete school without having to be in debt.

EDIT: If I were really to ask for some material object, I think I might pick the Magic Bullet. Or just a regular old blender, since my friend broke mine. Yell

I was a sucker for anything prepackaged. My freezer was packed with pizza rolls, hot pockets, waffles, breaded chicken patties, french fries, and whatever else was on sale in the frozen section, really.

Also, I ate a LOT of fast food. I could easily eat 2 double cheeseburgers, a 5 piece mcnugget, fries, and a milkshake without second guessing. McDonalds was my weakness, followed by Arby's beef-n-cheddars.

...and sweets. lots and lots of sweets. My boyfriend used to work at our university candy shop and sometimes our dinner would be pure chocolate.

Sickening.

Edit to add: I almost forgot about the 2 years I worked in the mall and ate like 4 Magic Wok Egg Rolls with a smoothie on my break every day, followed by a giant Cookie Company dessert when the store closed.

Even though I'm commenting on a post that was created over a year ago, I would just like to second the notion that Yoplait Whipps are AMAZING.

They are pretty high in calories, but if you eat it slow and savor every bite, it is definitely worth the 160 calories. (or even better.. 140 for the fruit ones!)

The Lounge survey! Nov 05 2008

7) what's your favorite calorie-reduced product? (sugar-free yogurt, calorie-wise mayo, etc): Light Miracle Whip, Fat Free Chocolate Pudding, Light Flatout Wraps

8) do you try to eat clean?: As you can see from #7, no. I eat lots of fruits/veggies but I don't think I could live without the little indulgences.

9) do you have a gym membership?: yes, I think it's the best investment I've ever made.

10) when was the last time you went to the gym, or exercised?: I went to the gym at 3pm today, worked with a trainer, and busted ass!

11) what's your favorite form of exercise?: Dancing!

12) what's your least favorite form of exercise?: Rollerblading. I'm sure it would be fun if I didn't fall over every time.

This sounds exactly like my stepmom. She has gone Obama crazy with this election. For the past 2 months, she has spent every day after work going door to door, or calling people, or hanging posters, etc..

It's so crazy over at my Dad's house right now, I can't wait until after the election when she calms down and snaps back into reality.

Foods Favorite Edy's Ice Cream? Oct 29 2008

I just picked up some Edy's Slow Churned Thin Mint Icecream (Girl Scouts Edition!). Its 120 cals for 1/2 cup... which is pretty good, as long as you can limit yourself.

It tastes very similar to Mint Chocolate Chip, except with a crumbly cookie instead of the hard chips.

I will have to try the pumpkin, soon. It sounds SOOOO good

Ice cream + pumpkin =  heaven.

Anyone else think that Brady made up the story about Phill asking him to keep Amy P. around, just to get Heba more on their (Brady and Vicky's) side?

I thought about this, actually.. Normally, whenever there is some confrontation or gossip going around (on any tv show, not just the BL), both sides are shown. Last night, Phil didn't say anything about it on camera! Amy had no idea what they were talking about, either.  It wouldn't surprise me if it was all made up.

Anyways, I agree with everyone else. Colleen deserves this. She has such willpower. Hopefully we can all see her make it to the end.

I haven't liked Heba from Day 1. She's bossy, condescending, manipulative, and like you said, she's gonna get what's coming to her!!

I liked Amy P, her and Phil seem like good people. I was sad to see her go.

I'm totally Team Colleen. She's just so sweet, I hope she wins!

Veggiedoodle, I feel the exact same way. The Heba/Vicky/Brady team pisses me off hardcore. It's a shame they care more about the money than the life changes they are making.

Communication Problems:

A couple are doing yard work and the wife goes to take a shower. Her husband is looking for a rake and can't find it. He yells up to his wife, 'Where's the rake?'

She can't hear: She replies by shaking her head.

So he points to his eye (I), hits his knee (need), then makes raking motions.

She replies by pointing to her eye, points to her left breast, grabs her ass, then points to her crotch.

He runs up stairs and says, 'What?'

She says, 'I left tit behind the bush.'

Here's another one.. it's a little corny:

Ask someone: "Hey, did you get that henway I sent you?"

They reply: "What's a henway?"

You say: "About 6 pounds"

oh theluckiest - I feel for you. Maybe everyone else already met their goal. It could be a reason we are the only ones left. I too gained a few lbs. Don't discourage yourself. You have come so far! You have made a huge accomplishment, losing 70 lbs! I'll bet your also a lot healthier than you were before. Just keep at it. We all know the last few lbs are the hardest to get rid of. Even if it takes a year, at least you can say you didn't give up! You are doing good things for your body.

Have you lost inches recently? Maybe you've just gained some muscle from cycling. Either way, your getting fit and healthy, regardless of what the scale says.

Don't give up! I'm here with you. We all are. My computer is working now so CC is back in full swing. Message me if you want anytime.

And to everyone else - It was a fun journey, and I'm glad we all got to do it together. Good luck out there!

Hey guys. It looks like I'm not the only one who dropped off the face of the earth.. I just wanted to share with everyone that CC absolutely refuses to work on my computer (it must have a virus or something). It took about an hour just to get the page loaded up and into a forum. I haven't been able to log any calories, making it very difficult to lose weight. I have had a very busy month, including 3 vacations and lots of alcohol. I am still maintaining my weight, though. This next month I will be getting back into the swing of things, and doing as much as possible to stay healthy without counting calories. I will sign on every now and then and give an update. Good luck to everyone out there still giving it 110%.
