i gots some news :( i had a strange dental thing happen to me last week which has led to my dentist demanding i get at least 3 extractions ASAP in order to a) ease my current pain - discomfort and b) begin the healing process for my other teeth  -- SO the earliest appointment available was on friday at 11 - i think i will be swollen but possibly happily drugged and ok to hang out on saturday - Rob thinks otherwise -- there is no way of knowing yet but i wanted to give u all a heads up in case we can't make it

Weight Loss Is that feeling of being full, an unnatural one? May 13 2008

I kinda have the opposite problem... I always feel hungry.

Even if I eat a meal, no matter what it is I feel hungry 2 hours later.

I don't think thats a problem - the body is supposed to take between 2-3 hours to digest food - i think ur metabolism is like Lightening :) and i am jealous! i usually have to remind myself to eat every 3 hours cuz i will forget and then get ravenous later - thats the downfall!

i agree with everyone else - you are definitely not eating enough at all - I also think its probably better to eat most of your daily calories in the morning then have 4 other small meals every 3 hours with an even amount of the rest of your daily calories - it might help to plan your daily menu the day before rather then trying to wing it -  use a calculator and the CC db and try to figure it out - try to be conscious of eating a balance of carbs, proteins and good fats too

Fitness Lose Fat, Maintain Muscle - stop strength training and up cardio? May 13 2008

i started doing Burn the Fat Feed the Muscle like two weeks ago - basically its an entire program designed to help you in what you want to do - its an ebook - i can't vouch for it yet other then its keeping me on really strict dietary and workout track :) but generally, it was written by a natural body builder and he still advocates a good amount of cardio along with a strict balanced diet and whatever weight training schedule fits your needs the best.

i am consulting with the man re bowling - juice organic fruit and veggies - celery, broccoli, red cabbage, strawberries (the organic ones are expensive as a gallon of gas but worth dodging the pesticides), carrots, apples, grapes - we did mangos and pineapple too not in that order or all together - i was always a bit heavy with the fruit cuz i have a sweet tooth, oh yeah - spinach too but you need a lot to get any juice. i guess you could juice almost anything that can be pulverized!

Then it's good we'll know what you're wearing! Like finding a lost kid in disneyland. As long as you got the gear down, we can find you.

I don't own a hat! Am I really going to be that bad off if I don't have a hat? Oh man. Sunglasses and sunblock are a def must. I know I'm going to forget SOMETHING.

You guys make it sound like we're trekking into the deep outback without cizilization nearby haha! If you forget something someone will have it...

For my appetite's sake, could everyone pack some extra deoderent? I'm scared LoL.

I agree the peak is the best place to meet. Everyone get my numba? I plan on bringing an extra shirt to change out of, because i don't want to feel THAT yuck. Or maybe an entire pair of clothes to swap out at pita jungle. Sweat grosses me.

deoderant will melt - i suppose we could keep extra shirts in the car or something but i doubt it will help much lol - we will still be sweaty :P the sweat will evaporate eventually in that heat anyway.

Haha! i was going to say "duh, see photo!" but you figured it out ;)

What the hell is Aaron talking about? How is it more dangerous than any other bike? They don't even go 10 mph haha he's a nerd :P

I agree with the nerd bit but he wasn't referring to that type of bike specifically - he was referring to me riding a bike around the biltmore - and he was just being dramatic cuz thats what drama queens do ;) thats his nickname ala me!

i have been having a bit of a time getting back on foods but i am working on it - stupid intestines! :) i felt great during the fast/cleanse - its the aftermath that leaves me cold - my husband is perfectly fine though so normal people should be great - only those with tummy issues should probably take extra steps during the fast breaking as i have learned the hard way :)

well i take it with 8 oz of water and 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda to protect my teeth - when i first started i didn't know i needed the baking soda so i got used to it without it so when i started the bs i was like ugh but now i am used to that too - its not so bad. i used to take red wine vinegar straight and that helped cure me of acid reflux. I recommend looking up oil pulling - its supposed to be really good for your teeth and help your whole body detox daily. I never miss a day now if i can help it - if nothing else it has made my period cramps a bit less painful overall. I use filtered sesame oil.

i started taking it when i had a sinus infection - i had some in the fridge because my husband had read that it would aid in weight loss so he took it for a few days and then gave up on it. I started feeling the infection coming on after a really stressful work episode and was freaking out because antibiotics make my stomach hurt - normally it might be dealable but after the stress attack my tummy was already killing me - so i looked up natural cures and found www.earthclinic.com which is all testimonials about different things that work for different ailments - i started the ACV and oregano oil and my infection was gone in 4 days - i never heal that fast. So then i started taking it daily because its supposed to help with so many things that i figured it can't hurt me :) the oregano oil is a natural antibiotic that you never develop a tolerance to so it helps fight off stuff before you even come down with it - in fact i even used it on a small skin infection i had a few weeks ago and it worked like a charm. Aloe Vera juice is supposed to aid the digestion but i started taking it to attempt to heal my skin - and yes my skin is slightly better then it was before but as i say that i am having a really bad skin thing going on but i read its to be expected with a juice cleanse because your body starts purging even in ur skin - so basically my face is throwing up on me ;)

lol - yeah that definitely would throw me out of whack too  - so far my gallbladder works but most of my new intolerances came after i had my appendix removed - I am not used to fat so it can mess me up pretty good too - even good fats - i actually have force myself to eat fats because i just don't eat enough fat - my gastro says low fat is good so at least i have that going for me :) I can get drunk on sodium too - Bread is still something that drives me nutz but there is nothing anyone can do about it - just had to adjust :D i definitely could never do a gall bladder cleanse by drinking a cup of oil - my insides would probably slip out of me lol! well i guess i could if i wanted to but nah - i do oil pull every morning after i wake up though - i do a whole bunch of not so fun things to try and improve my health or prevent stuff ... i drink ACV every night, i drink aloe vera juice once a day and i take oregano oil every day too ... can't be too careful ;)

yeah - the master cleanse seems really unhealthy - I wanted to do it to cleanse mainly but losing weight is a benefit - unfortunately I need to rebuild any muscle i may be losing by inactivity - i get sick cuz i have IBS (diagnosed a month ago) and i am intolerant of milk, cheese (since i was 14), peppers, onions (since i was 21), lettuce/cabbage, bread, corn (over the past year)- i have been avoiding wheat and gluten though I am pretty sure i can eat those because white flour wraps i can still eat - I just noticed a while ago that i was having 3 days long sickness feelings almost like food poisoning after eating anything that has refined sugar in it and that includes alcohol so i don't drink anymore ... the juice cleanse hasn't been bad - the 1st 2 days were a bit foggy/weird but i feel ok now - i was hoping to do the 7 days cleanse but i think rob is going to want to start eating sooner so we will likely start eating raw veggies and fruit tomorrow to start breaking the fast, then sunday we can lightly steam some stuff then on Monday its back to foodsville :) Oh - and i have found that i can drink red cabbage - i just can't eat it

not for everything - they say that people get the same benefit from 50-70% raw conversion - see i can't eat cake, pie, bread - just about anything with sugar or that acts like refined sugar to the system - i can eat it but i get super sick so its not worth it in most cases - i found this site where they actually have a raw gourmet chef http://gliving.tv/greenchefs/ - i love the recipes so i have to start playing around and try to make them - if i can make a tart that might fake me into thinking i am eating a pie but its healthy then i will be happy lol - its hard living without all the basic stuff that most people have to try to avoid for weight issues - plus i don't intend to become a vegan - tho if i were single i would because of all the great benefits, but for now i am holding chicken and beef in high esteem as one of the few things i CAN still eat lol

LOL - yeah i was wondering if that was you :) i was going to do the raw fruit / veggie thing but then did a whole bunch of research and found that its better for your digestive system to try just juice - we got a whole lot of organic (when possible) fruit and veggies and have been running them through the Juiceman Jr i got for xmas - the combinations are all over the place but we try to put as many nutrients in it as possible - Rob is eating fruits too because he is really too big (6'5") for just juice - so far i have lost 7 lbs and he has lost 10 - you can't really exercise much cuz you feel ok but too much effort hits you a lot harder then normal - we are not doing the parasite cleanse yet (if ever) - just a normal Organic Total Body Cleanse. Allegedly I am cleansing out all the icky buildup and toxins and when i am done i will digest my food better - some people claim this sort of thing (fasting basically) can heal cancer and all sorts of diseases. After we start eating normally again I am thinking of trying to convert our diet to 50 percent raw - i did a lot of research on that too and found lots of great vegan recipes and stuff to make the raw stuff look like stuff i can't even eat now :) i am pretty excited - all i need is a dehydrater and a food processor - i have at least a good 10 or 15 lbs i could lose so for me its not as dangerous :) though maybe if you tried a fast with nuts or avocados and bananas you might be ok? thats what they recommend for diabetics and people with other issues who want to try a fast

when we hiked North Mountain i wore my exercise sneakers and the only problem was once we got to a steep decent my toes were jamming into my sneakers and they hurt for 2 days - and for the record my best friend wore her Cons and she was fine lol - i am probably going to try and get something supportive. We brought a backpack with water and all carried a bottle as well. We brought protein bars and granola bars and they were like ambrosia after all that hard work - the poetry of it was since my best friend was in town from NY we were eating horribly all week and decided to celebrate all our hard work with Sonics which immediately made me sick :) i love my NY people but i think its best they stay over there - all these fast food places they haven't tried yet is like the crack to them :D

there might be some merit in trying for 10 or so rather then noonish if thats doable for everyone - just regarding the heat and all that - 2-6 is the hottest time of day and who knows what the temp will be at that time of month if its as warm as it is now :)

uh - ok - my name is adrienne - fat all my life til the age of 19 when my metabolism kicked in out of nowhere and i started exercising cuz i was flaccid and 130ish lbs but no muscle tone - since then its been a long yo yo ride up and down til i have evened out around 140 but my goal is to get back to the 125 i was when i got married and maintain it. I also have IBS and multiple food intolerances which make dieting a little too easy and eating Wayy to hard! for my IBS therapy i have to exercise 3-5 times per week for stress management and i am also a bit of an organic freak - as for Rob, my husband he gained a lot of weight when he went from an active outdoor job to a nice cushy cubicle type job so as of january he has been working toward losing weight - he lost about 20 lbs pretty fast but still has places to go - i think we may have both plateaued and i am considering trying to work up to eating raw at least 50% of the time and will attempt to not give up meat since its one of the few things i can eat :)
