The Lounge abortion. agree, disgree? Jan 09 2008

I have never agreed with abortions - I began to research what they really were around the age of 12 or 13... I honestly find it revolting... especially when used at birth control... I could go on and on about why... and it's suprising to me that so many people don't actually know the processes behind abortions [not talking about people on here I didn't actually read all of the responses] but just in general so many people don't and that's even worse...

I found this quote from an abortion survivor which I think sums up how i feel:

"Abortion is morally wrong. Our country is shedding the blood of the innocent. America is killing its future."

Weight Loss what do you think? losing weight is hard even if you count calories! Jul 17 2007

If you want a washboard stomach, the goal isn't to lose weight. Your main goal shouldn't be calorie-counting (although, if done properly, can lead to healthy habits) but your main goal should be doing cardio (i.e. running/aerobic excercises) to get rid of what little fat you have on your stomach. Then work out your stomach (situps/crunches/w.e.)

Chances are you'll probably put on pounds, because muscle weighs more than fat. If memory serves me correctly, you don't want to restrict your calories, you want to eat what your body needs, and make sure you're getting plenty of protein. And drinking plenty of water. And just keep working out your stomach. But don't overwork it, or else you can hurt the muscles. But I'd say make sure you're starting off with 3/4 days a week with a good stomach workout

Motivation Wish they would notice? Sep 28 2006

My experience has taught me that it's harderst for the people closer to say anything for 2 reasons:

  1. Because they're close to you they don't want to make you feel awkward, or themselves, in bringing up weight with a women, especially- but not limited to, because it's taught to be such a taboo subject.
  2. Because they see you so regularly it's more difficult for them to actually notice because they see the slow process. But those who rarely see you can spot the difference so much easier.
Also, it took me 40 pounds to have someone say anything, and at 45-50 is when everyone noticed. But only a handful of people have actually said anything to my face- most people have told my best friend. According to her, "Everyone and their mother has told me [her] that you look awesome with losing weight" along with the new hair and no glasses.

So, it's a tedius [sic] process and you have to be completely dependent on yourself for praise and self-reassurance. But trust me in the end is it not only worth it, but people will notice- they just may not say anything. Sorry.

But congrats that is awesome! :D

Weight Loss abercrombie and fitch needs to die Sep 28 2006

I agree I've never been a fan of abercrombie... I went in there once, was in there about 5 minutes and walked right back out. Firstly I would never pay that much for pretty much the SAME clothes I can get else where for less than half the price... it's rediculous. Not to mention all of the discrimanation and racism problems they've had/created.

I also HATE the varying sizes. Can someone please just get some consistancy, i don't care if it's bigger or smaller, just make it the same. I have to try on a range between Juniors 7-13 like what? And that's only at the few stores I shop at, I can't even imagine any more... I can't wait 'til I go shopping Friday.. i dont even know what I'm going to do lol. >:l

And I also agree with jayd294mp on larger clothing makers, especially plus sizes. I help my mom shop all of the time, and you should here me ranting in the store and it's not even personally effecting me... It's GROSS what they try to pawn off on people. It makes me want to get into fashion designing just to fix it... not that I am... but if I had the time and abilities I totally would. It's dispicable...

Meh. lol

Gilmore Girls= my life! lol I loooooooooooooooove this show... however I hate how the turned sex to be such a big role- but then again I guess that is how it is for some people... but still... I hate how it's in like EVERY show... but meh w/e- it's too good not to watch. However, I am very disappointed with Lorelai... I was soooo mad at the end of last season- you should have heard me yelling lol I was like PISSED for a week haha... But I think they had to make Lorelai and Luke break up because it's such a major thing to see when they're going to get together, so if they just get together where's the "fun" in that. Well- it's fun for me, but not for producers lol. :D Can't wait for next week :D

idk, it completely depends on your body. (a good way to find out is to click "Tools" then "Allowance" on here)- but if you have been eating under 1,200 regularly then you should work yourself up to x amount under allowance- say 100-200 calorie increase a week. Hope that helps

ana- i just messaged you back- sorry it took so long. but yes, you are technically underweight. You have a BMI of 18.2 and underweight begins at 18.5. I definately don't recommend losing any more weight- work on putting on muscle, which will help your metabolism burning more calories and keep up the cardio to burn any fat. But this process will only work if you do eat enough calories. Hope that helps,

Weight Loss are pounds really that important? Sep 26 2006
06:18 (UTC)

You're right, pounds really aren't that important, they're really an illusion. I don't recommend putting all your eggs in the pounds basket- however, it's a good place to start. BMI is worse than pounds because it ruling is based on pounds then makes a more general statement based on that- but also a decent place to start, but can be very faulty. I recommend watching what percent of you is fat vs. muscle. You could weigh 200 pounds and be healthy full of muscle vs. 180 with limited muscle. Know what I mean? Hope that helps.

Sarah, if you were to do cardio to lose the fat, and keep up the crunches, plus any other ab workouts, you could actually gain weight, but lose space. Does that make sense? But that process takes a while. Once you're that close to a goal weight, you shouldn't focus on the numbers any more, just focus on how you look and feel. I'd recommend just keeping up the cardio and ab-workouts.

Hopes that helps,

yeah that's fine :)... firstly, I looooooove Girl, Interuppted :D

lol anywho... hmm well then I'd say keep up the ab exercises and make sure you do cardio, since the cardio will help get rid of any fat, and the ab workout will tone it up. And just give it some time and don't focus as much on the numbers because you could actually gain weight but be skinny since muscle is more compact than fat, a pound of muscle weighs and takes up less room than a pound of fat.

Hope that helps,

well I'd say if you normally reach your calorie intake than you could let the calories slide for today (not a regular thing). But I'd suggest if you could find a healthy/slightly healthy choice in the vending machine then I'd grab something.
