Young Calorie Counters Binge? Binge?! Oct 23 2008

Original Post by kaybug:

2400 calories? That's nothing! I bet you can maintain on that! How many calories are you eating on a daily basis? I understand emotional eating, but if you're freaking out over 2400 calories, I'm a bit concerned.

Daily I score in 1500 cal at the lowest, though it's usually around 1700 cal. I'd be more forgiving of my slip-ups if I didn't feel so blue, probably. Some days, we girls just feel fat. I know I'm not fat, but it makes me irritated and kinda bitchy, and eating definitely makes me more tolerable to be around for others and for myself. Very opposite mechanics, but the results are decent. xP

I just know I'm going to regret the extra 800 calories tomorrow morning. >.<

I'll try to remember your advice, though, Kay! Sounds more productive than being disgusted with myself.

Weight Gain *urgent* Has anyone ever stayed in Greece? Oct 20 2008

I've never been to Greece either, but my father says that breakfast actually isn't a big meal over there. Usually it's just something small like fruit and yogurt with coffee. I would assume that the hotel would serve a varied breakfast, like Okgo said, if it serves meals. If not, bringing a bar sounds like a good idea, as does buying some cereal from a local market. I'm pretty sure the stores would carry some.

Sorry, that probably wasn't so helpful. :/

Silk Live! might be lower in sugar than the other brands, but it's rather disgusting, in my opinion. Very artificial tasting, and not half as creamy as Whole Soy.

Health & Support Multivitamins Question Oct 19 2008

Costas: I'm 17, as well, and vegan, so I take a multi-vitamin... just in case. I make a conscious decision to eat at least five servings of fruit and vegetable, and plenty of fortified foods, so I don't need a multi most likely.

Better safe than sorry, however. I would take the multi.

To all of you who believe that keeping convicts in prison for the rest of their lives as opposed to receiving the death penalty, which is more civilized- subjecting them to years of prison rape or shooting them? (or injection, as the case seems to be)

Sun123-  I believe that I stated my belief as "An eye for an eye or more for an eye." It's dependent on your decisions as a victim.

Maybe I don't feel compassion for the depraved sociopath who tries to kill me or someone I know.

Young Calorie Counters do you want kids one day? Oct 12 2008

I thought I wanted a baby, but then my older sister and her husband had one. If being an aunt is this much of a trial, then I can only vaguely imagine how it would be if I had to nurture and be with my own baby 24/7.   o.o

Still, I think that someday I will have some of my own. Having a niece has made me realize how much I value my ability to be free of such a weighty responsibility. No kid for me until I am ready to seriously settle down, and to make permanent life choices.

I think that raising a healthy child would be pretty easy, actually. Feed her healthy, yet tasty foods. Don't worry if she makes mistakes. Accept her idiosyncrasies, allay her fears... all the stuff that my parents have done for me. Although I won't homeschool my kids like mine have me. So much work!

(being pregnant looks like so much fun, personally. My sister loved having a little person in her, even if she did do a lion's share of complaining about her stomach.)

I tend to believe that humans, or at least generally similar sentient beings, should not condone the destruction of our fellow species. However, I have never been moved to protect the life of another person who goes out of his way to hurt me or anyone else.

An eye for and eye (or more for an eye) is my perspective. Some people are far too dangerous or psychotic to let roam around. In which case, the price of keeping inmates fed, dressed, housed, and everything else is a price we don't need to be paying.

I also believe that criminal punishment should be left to the discretion of the victim. In the case of a murder (and I am not including accidents in the same category as murder) the criminal should receive the death sentence as well.

I'm 5'3", 106 lbs and I usually wear a small size shirt, occasionally medium is a more comfortable fit. I wear a pants size 3 or 5, and I could, until recently, fit a child's size 16.
