My wife can eat anything she wants at any time and not be affected at all.

I used to eat the same stuff and ballooned up.

The thing is, she is not a very good cook and she will eat whatever so I basically do all the cooking and she eats what I eat which is usually healthy stuff

I am 28 years old and like you had mostly always been overweight

In Nov. 2008 I was 217 lbs (I am 5 '5).  Today I weigh in at 160 lbs.

I did this by watching what I ate but mostly because I got into the gym nearly every day. I also hired a personal trainer for a while which helped tremendously (but its expensive)

Once you start to lose more weight that will be all the motivation you need to go to the gym every day. Its to the point now where I'm angry/guilty if I can't get to the gym nearly every day. Not to mention it's great when other regulars at the gym come up to you (never spoken a word to them) to tell you how great you look and how good you are doing.

I guess I really want to know now is-
Can boys and girls truly be best platonic friends?

No.

Yes, they can. I've been friends with a guy for 5-6 years now and there is absolutely no other feelings other than friendship. We stay over at each other's houses all the time because we stay up all night watching movies and playing video games. I have a boyfriend and he has a girlfriend.. it's never been an issue with them because they can tell it's obvious we are 100% friends only. It's rare, but it happens.

It's also pretty funny because we are both OPPOSITES of what we find attractive. I am attracted to big manly men and he is a dangerously skinny girly boy. He loves short tiny girls and I am a semi-tall fat girl ;) hahaha

He wants to do things with you

Motivation Motivate my husband? Oct 28 2009
17:09 (UTC)

I was that husband for a while. I was 5'6 and 217 pounds.

My wife would occasionally hint at my weight but never said much about it so I actually was ok with it for a while.  Then, she was looking through some old pictures from me in college and I looked as some with her and I saw myself and how fit I was and then looked at myself now and it pissed me off to know that I let myself get like that.  After seeing the picture, I walked upstairs to the scale. I had no idea how much I weighed.  I saw the scale hit 217 and realized I was "winded" from walking about the stairs.

That was all I needed. I drove to the gym that day, joined, and have gone almost every day since. I watch what I eat.  That was a year ago. Today I weigh 160 lbs. and feel great.  Once I started to lose the weight and gain some self-confidence that was all the motivation I needed to continue. My wife was very supportive and always told me how proud she was of me and that kept me going to.

The Lounge Is it possible to dress *too* professionally for work? Oct 22 2009

Absolutely, positively, ignore every single one of them and dress as professional as you want - even if you want to wear a suit.  They 100% have the choice to match you in dress style if they feel it is making them look bad. Otherwise they need to STFU.

My job requires a tie and all that, but even on our "jeans days" I wear the same dressy clothes because I feel, act, and look more professional and people do take you more seriously.  Not to mention, you don't see the executives at the top participating in jeans day typically. It makes you stand out in a good way.

A LOT, I'm sure. But I don't spend actual money- just the dining points that come with my meal plan at college. I rarely ever spend real money at sbux.

And I suppose those dining points were purchased with magic money? lol

I'm making some and am so excited...but I just realized that as much as I would LOVE to hav only carrot soup for my meal, it's not exactly the most balanced of ideas...

So, what do you guys in all of your food eating wisdom suggest I pair with my very delicious soup?  The easier, the better...I have homework to do after this and also a severe lack of groceries.

Thanks!

How do you make carrot soup? I am curious.

I'd say you've done the right thing so far but you can't force them to give you hours so that being said...i would talk to the owner about possibly getting more hours and instead of calling in sick next time go in and let them send you home so that you don't look like a flake and at least you're on the clock for a little while. since they already cut your hours it's best not to look unreliable even if you are legitimately sick.

Anyone else think this was an absolutely idiotic post? She works at a FOOD place and you're suggesting she go in sick? Some people are idiots.
